@@SandrasLibrary Yes! Same, I started reading along while book 4 was on the way. So I had to wait for each book, and even though ACOTAR went viral, it’s just not the same. I feel like none of it has this dimension while also world building. ACOTAR has appealing and charming characters, and CC has great world building, but TOG has the perfect amount of both. I would love to hear your opinion on which you prefer!
@@vanessa1052 As Throne of Glass was the first of SJM’s works I ever read, I’m also partial to ToG. I think with ACOTAR, SJM fully captured the romance reader segment and introduced them to the romance-fantasy (and also just plain fantasy) genre. I prefer expansive epic fantasy tales, which ToG is for me, while ACOTAR initially felt like more of a contained romance story that happened to be set in a fantasy world. Now, I LOVE CC’s world-building and modern grittiness and can see it being up there for me like ToG, but still different in its own way! This is a great topic! 👀
I love that you guys love the birthday scene as well, Celaena really thinking about going with Chaol and giving up so much for him without he even realizing how much this simple quote from her meant! Like tell me how much you love him without telling him, girl!!

This was a HEAVY discussion at times, but ya'll did a great job keeping it fun. "Dumbass Chaol" sums up the first half of this book perfectly for me. He was living the dream with the girl he loved, and then he screwed it all up. Idiot. 🤦♂ Unrelated to the discussion, but will the boot in Tera's background be making a guest appearance at some point? I don't know what it was, but every time it was in frame my eyes darted to it 🤣
LMAOOOOO I will ask about the boot! There is always a random object in the background for one of us. It was an extra keyboard in mine at one point! And if only I could share just how much fun we're having when we record. There is SO much I end up having to cut out! 😅
