This was amazing lads! Big props to the editor… this is one of the best formats for a KT batrep I’ve seen. The chats and tactics, the bits of funny content edited in, not just top down, etc. well done. Also Ryan and Andy great game showing how broken the goats are on ITD. 😂
for the hatchway fight at 11:53, I think the rule is the model's "base is touching an open Hatchway’s access point," rather than be within 1" of the access point. From the perspective it looks like the model was touching the access point anyhow, I just wanted to ask about it. Thanks.
The attacker's base has to touch the access point and the enemy has to be within 2" of the access point. But you have to remember that you cannot finish a dash action within 1" of an enemy. at 11:53 it seems that the models were within 1'' of each other. Thus, it was not a valid dash action. However, it is not a big deal, as I believe that the dash action could have been finished somewhere diagonally from the enemy, yet still touching the access point but the distance between models would be more than 1"
I will add a minor note here from a production standpoint. For an action like that, the model gets moved and placed multiple times. So, first we played the move. Then we reset the board and talked about it. Then we made the moves again for the close up camera making the charge. Then we removed the model and placed it back for the close up camera. Some of these shots get used, some don't, and chances are strong that the initial move where we boringly discussed whether or not I can actually make the move legally, is almost certainly not the shot that gets used. #productionvalues

Nice Batrep GHD, if I could offer one suggestion on ITD Terrain. On the top of the terrain can you paint the walls right above the doors a different color, so that its easier to see where the doors are at? My gaming group did that and its really helpful and it would be especially helpful for batreps.
Oh yes, I 100% wanted to put hazard stripes over my doors, but more importantly I couldn't be bothered to hobby more on my ITD set when I'm super unconvinced that this will be supported beyond Gallowfall :(
Production-wise, your set up seems very strong. Our points of focus are well lit, drawing the eye. Full of colour. The background disappears. I just can't quite decide if i think wearing black tops is actually *more* powerful or just annoyingly indistinct.
I suspect the dwarfies might actually be better on Open maps than ittd oddly enough, but their slowness might be tricky for them. Pretty good battle report clarity wise! Nearly as good as mountainside Tabletop that makes some Intentional thematic shots of the things happening (shots and fight and stuff from the point of view of the operative)
@@TacticalSkew I've only played the one game with them, so obviously it's not like I'm some great sage, but, on open, the jetpack warrior actually fills in a lot of the blanks. While the 'team' is slow, you do have an operative that's basically the fastest in the game, so it's possible to achieve tac ops that you might think would be too hard for a 'slow team'. Also, his climbing apparatus essentially grants you quite a big movement buff. Sure, it's only vertical, but in practice I found that to be a bigger deal than it seemed on paper. All in, he was really the MVP, because he just gives you so many more options than it seems like you've got at first blush. Also: This batrep was really really great! I appreciate it must take 'forever' to produce content like this, with all the cutaways, but it's honestly so so worth it, this was really really cool.
great video! love the kitbashed models! I felt angry and sad and crushed for Ryan when he missed the 4+s in melee 4 times ha ha. Something like a 94% chance to kill the beastman and missed!
I think Beastmen are really just that strong (but also have a lot of counters with any team that can convert crits - but that costs more activations). Votann have ALOT of options when it comes to loadouts on their gunners and synergies that could work better against other teams. The 2⚪️ movement hurts though
I think Hearthkyn will do just fine and settle themselves at a low but acceptable win rate between 45-50% and basically remain untouched when it comes to balance. IF they'd played into any other faction, it would have been a much more even game imo. ITD just isn't their format.

It just annoys me that You , and others ,invest time and effort producing content on stuff that Joe Public simply cannot buy. I have been trying to get Breachers for weeks , out of stock everywhere same for Starstriders and several others. Surely it is time to call out GW for treating customers so poorly.
Completely agree with you, but when that happens to me, I like to kitbash. Recently got my hands on some Navy Breachers via Tau Fire Warriors. It’s annoying to not be able to get the actual models if you want them though.
You can proxy both teams easily - get some tzaangors or black fortress beastmen (that is, if you want goatboyz team), or even go more wild and make cultists (khorne cult, ofc!) or, like Andy did, GSC. As for squats, there are boxes for 40k.
Well done batrep, thanks for the analysis and demonstrating what the Beastmen’s Frenzy can do. Short of locking them in closed rooms I’m not sure how anyone deals with them …
I heard the same thing about Soulshackle and then found multiple copies at the LGS. I’ll probably pass on this box but still if I change my mind in a week I’m not to worried.

It's not the Votann that are bad, it's the beastmen that are bonkers.
