If you combine Red and Violet, you get Magenta. So I think the photos on his desk, plus his name sake pretty much is a subtle way of telling us that yes both Red and Violet are Magentas parents.
if that is the case then one of two ways this can happen. either Magenta was already born and Violet went on to raise him or she was already pregnant with him and after everything she carried him to full term and when he learns who is father was and what happened, he swore revenge. either way, Violet robbing the vault was probably due to either Magenta already a part of her life or she found out she was with child and wanted the baby to have a good life. all while Red didn't know that he was going to be a father or he did but kept it to himself or Violet never told him.

1. I'm fairly sure you get the color magenta by combining the colors red and violet so I'm going to assume Magenta's parents are Red and Violet. She probably dumped him because he was too short or maybe she got with him in order to figure out the secret location of the treasure or just to get a chance to be close to it. 2. Even though you only talk about Dragonball on this channel, this is the second time you taught me something about One Piece. I didn't know the word "okama" was a slur. I honestly never really bothered to look it up but I assumed through context. I just never thought it was a slur. I feel a little disgusted and guilty now, although I've never used that word other than to reference Ivankov's group. 3. As always, great job on the content, man.
In the Super Hero movie, there’s a little Easter egg during the beginning RR scene. On Magenta’s desk there’s a small framed picture of Violet, implying that she’s his mom.
Thanx for Including Heski? I forgot about that. I loved the old Dragon ball funny stuff like this, so much. :) Also, love All the background info on how and where Akira Toriyama got his inspirations. :)
I always thought that Toyama modeled his assistant black character from the red ribbon army after Bill Duke he looks like him to me I always thought that🤷🏽♂️
I am surprised you did not point out that the major metalatron "ALIEN" is an easter egg from the movie ALIENS. Every word is taken from that movie. So it really has nothing to do with Goku being a saiyan.
You forgot the real controversy: Red’s Irish accent haha I remember seeing the English dub of Dragon Ball on the blue bricks, and Red was speaking Irish, but part way through he lost it. Can’t wait for more DB in Depth! Hope you do in Depth on DBZ Kai The Final Chapters!!
Absolutely phenomenal coverage! Although I had seen some of the Freiza saga back in the 90s as a kid, I didn't get back into DBZ until the early 2000s somewhere in the Cell saga. I first saw/heard about Red Ribbon via the logo on Androids 19 and 20. Such a simple design but it just seemed like the most badass thing to me back then. I always wondered who Red Ribbon was but was kinda put off by the enormous amount of DB lore there is. I love how silly it seems, even the inclusion of anthro characters, but then when I first saw the designs of Androids 17, 18 and 19 I just knew they would be terrifyingly serious threats to the Z Fighters. In any case it's beyond sad that Akira Toriyama is gone. Never really clicked with me back then that he did a lot of the art from Crono Trigger, still one of the best RPGs ever made
3 questions 1. Do you think the Red Ribbon Army could return in some way shape or form again? 2. Do you think Universe 6 has their own type of Red Ribbon Army? 3. And if so, do you think they are still evil or reformed?
I'm willing to bet that Mr. Satan was the hero of U6 Earth (not just in the Xenoverse) and his forces waged war against the Red Ribbon Army which ended in the destruction all of Earth. Or at least, that's my head-canon. That's actually one of the things I'd like to see in future Dragon Ball productions even if it's one-shot manga or told in a flashback.
@@jasonone8726 Obviously. But either way, I wonder why he's one of his "favorite characters in the entire franchise" ? Colonel Silver is, for all intents and purposes, a jobber to introduce the RRA. He would've had his ass handed to him on a silver platter, pun intended, by, for example, General Blue. He was an errand boy for Commander Red; ultimately a disposable asset. He is the Raditz of the RRA.
Because I grew up with the original Dragon Ball series, one of my favorite (somewhat forgotten) characters was Colonel Silver of the Red Ribbon Army. Although he has a small influence in the series, he had a certain personal impact. Perhaps one of the reasons why I remained attached to him was the way he left the scene. leaving his fate uncertain and the possibility of a comeback that never happened. I believe it is one of the few situations in which the anime did a better job than the manga. In addition, the character has an interesting design, somehow unique to the Dragon Ball universe, it resembles Cowboy Bebop. He is inspired by Rubeus from Sailor Moon 😅
The scene where magenta played off capsule corporation as an evil organization with alien enforcers and cell as humanity’s last hope to stop them was hilarious
When has the country ever had a pair? People got offended at the dumbest things back then as well? Mfs were getting mad people looked and acted different from them 🤣
If you’re a Metal Gear fan, then the RR army is reminiscent of Outer Heaven and Zanzibar Land especially with commander red wearing an eye patch who could represent Big Boss.
I don’t remember when it was said. But I remember it being through an official interview. That the R.R army used to be a humanitarian organization before the one world Govt of Db. Back when Roshi was young there was war between the different factions of humanity which then all came together. The R.R supposedly being a parody of the Red Cross. Commander reds father was a head chief of the organization who started laundering and selling the medical supplies/Funding for the organizations relief efforts. Does anyone else remember reading this somewhere also? Or am I like stroking out lol
"maybe toriyama borrowed elements" No I can guarantee you he didn't remember. He didn't remember super saiyan 2 and was going to call 3 that. Oda from one piece said and described tao pai pai, and Toriyama had no idea that was one of his own characters. He became very forgetful after hitting his head which ultimately led to the hematoma at the end of his life.
This is ironically good timing I just finished this saga in original dragon ball (watching it in Japanese) like you recommended and IM LOVING original Dragonball and now I understand why you say to watch the Japanese version. You get a lot of extra stuff and etc… (also now I understand the whole “hick goku thing” makes sense)
Funny how Goku met all those officers but not the leader of the army himself. I hoped we would see the survivors Copper, Dark and Violet in Super Hero.
Isn’t it ironic that they use the nazi look for the RR evil army but when Goku turns SS1 he turns into blond hair blue eyed prototype of nazi aryan ideology
I never understood the Super saiyan= aryan thing? I fail to see how shiny gold hair and gold aura and green eyes= blonde hair blue eyes aryan? I doubt Toriyama was thinking about those guys while creating super saiyans
Considering they have an awesome theme song, a great gimmick, and seem incredibly powerful on their own they almost come out of a different show with how serious they seem to be at first actually killing civilians and being cutthroat. It's funny though like you said that really they're comedic in the sense of early dragon Ball where they are certainly a joke to Goku who just plows through them like it's nothing, which shows how dangerous Goku is he's not even taking them seriously but also how again if it was a different story they would be a huge threat. However, because Goku is basically invincible to them the Red ribbon army is dismantled single-handedly by Goku. But man that iconic double r red ribbon it's so awesome I'm so glad that toriyama decided to use it again for the Android saga
I love the Red Ribbon Army. Your video is really cool and informative. Thank you so much. The alternate versions of the Army are interesting. But I have a question. How is mentioned that Black renames the Army as Black Ribbon Army?
I liked the revial red ribbon army movie more than I thought but what kinda bothers me is how Geros grandson was able to make Gamma 1 & 2 and Cell Max as strong as they were especially since he didn't have Geros data to work on, OG cell makes sense why he was as strong as he was with the DNA of multiple strong fighters as his base but it seemed like the grandson made them all from scratch, no dna gathering like Gero nor his research to expand upon. It just baffles me how a normal human smart or not is capable of making something that powerful seemingly from scratch
It's called lazy writing. Unless Doctor Gero somehow had a stash of notes, research material and preserved dna hidden somewhere for his grandson or the Red Ribbon Army to find, it wouldn't make sense otherwise.
Even after Goku turned Super Saiyan and defeated Frieza for the first time, I know Goku got really sick but that was horrifying when Goku had nightmares about the androids when he was sleeping.
i personally think the red ribbon army is going to be re done in the future anime version because in the super hero movie they where wasted and basically destroyed in the same arc, they have more potential like cell max actually being a real cell and not just bio broly 2.0
You know, during the events of the android saga there is one particular episode where it's mostly a flashback that shows clips from the Red Ribbon Army saga as Master Rosie explains the story. In the flashback, Mercenaries Tao is referred to as General Tao, and the narration makes it sound like he was actually the leader of the Red Ribbon Army. And I saw that way before I saw any of the episodes of the original Dragon Ball series.
It’s that guy who always starts videos by saying something like ‘no one has ever revealed these dragon ball secrets before’ then just describes the plot, and the occasional allusion thrown in
As a military history geek did you know that one possible inspiration for the Red Ribbon Army in this manga was the 442nd Infantry Regiment which was all Japanese from the US mainland and Hawaii who were highly decorated, They also became honorary Texans because of them rescuing the 141st Regiment of the 36th Infantry Division in southern France
Don't know if you will see this or not but been seeing the news about the hurricane, not sure of your exact location but hope you are safe, keep up the great content.
i always wondered about why general black and major metalitron got new designs in the path to power. i thought general black did because of the controversy, but now i doubt it because metalitron has the same skin tone and features that general black did in the anime. i also didn't know about that blob dude being based on the blob. lol before i knew what canon and noncanon was, as a kid i thought mystical adventure kind of explained why chioatzu always looked like a kid and why he had powers. i thought it was because he was a prince and his family had powers and that explained it. lol
Colonel Silver and Colonel Violet survived and escaped. Hasky was arrested by the cops of the Western Capital City. The rest were killed or defeated by Goku.
Long ago, the Red Ribbon Army was the strongest military force in the world. Then, everything changed when Son Goku attacked.

@@lrkcm373 Yeah, that's the part I was referring to. He actually showed that scene in the video.
@@Winterwolf249 I should really watch the video before going through the comments lol
12:10 actually the idea of Goku being an alien goes back even further with Oolong wondering if he is one back in chapter 23.
I didn't too much like this arc when I first saw it but when I watched it for a second time I enjoyed it especially when Mercenary Tao showed up
Thanx for Including Heski? I forgot about that. I loved the old Dragon ball funny stuff like this, so much. :) Also, love All the background info on how and where Akira Toriyama got his inspirations. :)
What a great video. I sure cant wait for the androids explained.
Happy that dbs super hero showed more of the red ribbon army
By far your best in depth video. Thanks geek
I always thought that Toyama modeled his assistant black character from the red ribbon army after Bill Duke he looks like him to me I always thought that🤷🏽♂️
This has been one of my favorite videos to have watched! I love the history of the red ribbon army and glad we got to see them again in Super Hero!
My favorite concept in all of Dragonball! Especially the Trunks/Android saga!
I am surprised you did not point out that the major metalatron "ALIEN" is an easter egg from the movie ALIENS. Every word is taken from that movie. So it really has nothing to do with Goku being a saiyan.
Damn, this was a remarkably well researched and put together video. 😳👍
Never really clicked with me back then that he did a lot of the art from Crono Trigger, still one of the best RPGs ever made
3 questions
1. Do you think the Red Ribbon Army could return in some way shape or form again?
2. Do you think Universe 6 has their own type of Red Ribbon Army?
3. And if so, do you think they are still evil or reformed?
I haven't seen the movie but didn't the Red ribbon army already come back in the new movie
earth from universe 6 was destroyed by the humans of their universe so im pretty sure a version of the red ribbon army did that somehow
@@bigd1348 yeah they are in the new movie but just the son of general red, some soldiers and hedo,i wish they added more special soldiers or something
@@save_zawarudo well beerus wished for universe 6 to have their own earth back
Colonel Silver is one of my favorite characters in the entire franchise.
I assume you mean in the anime. In the manga, he was nerfed after a couple of seconds.
Commander Red and Black also appeared as movie producers during the Great Saiyaman episodes
The scene where magenta played off capsule corporation as an evil organization with alien enforcers and cell as humanity’s last hope to stop them was hilarious
Thanks for putting these out! You rule. Kids don't even read Dragon Ball anymore and think they know shit
What a video bro! You showin off!
Loved the video! It was very informative and the structure was perfect in my opinion. Looking forward to part 2!
Love it back when we wasn't scared to offend people back when the country had a pair
When has the country ever had a pair?
People got offended at the dumbest things back then as well?
Mfs were getting mad people looked and acted different from them 🤣
What country? Japan or America?
Arcs like these make me wish fictional things like these actually existed, even something as grounded like this
im so happy u included the master thief
Gotta say danny, that was a lot more info than I was expecting. Great production!
If you’re a Metal Gear fan, then the RR army is reminiscent of Outer Heaven and Zanzibar Land especially with commander red wearing an eye patch who could represent Big Boss.
I loved in the filler ep in the leadup to the Cell Games when Gen Tao ran into Goku, freaked out and used a tree to fly away
That Ninja Kurosaki fight might be the funniest one in all of DB.
Damn, General Blue was spot on! Sadly we won't be seeing villains like him these days
@@hardcorehunter7162 😮
This is ironically good timing I just finished this saga in original dragon ball (watching it in Japanese) like you recommended and IM LOVING original Dragonball and now I understand why you say to watch the Japanese version. You get a lot of extra stuff and etc… (also now I understand the whole “hick goku thing” makes sense)
Thank you for this. Not enough discussion of classic DB.
Whilst Wakanda was for sure an influence, the RPC's volcano base in Super Hero was probably also a reference to SPECTRE's base in You Only Live Twice
22:20 made me think of Dr. Evil from the Austin Powers movies.
Funny how Goku met all those officers but not the leader of the army himself. I hoped we would see the survivors Copper, Dark and Violet in Super Hero.
It's funny how both Toriyama and Toei never considered using the officers who got away.
I guess power scaling. Also Gero was basically carrying the RR Army after DB
Isn’t it ironic that they use the nazi look for the RR evil army but when Goku turns SS1 he turns into blond hair blue eyed prototype of nazi aryan ideology
An irony made clear in the movie Dragon Ball Z Fusion Reborn, when an undead parody of Hitler sees Trunks and Goten go Super Saiyan xD
I never understood the
Super saiyan= aryan thing?
I fail to see how shiny gold hair and gold aura and green eyes= blonde hair blue eyes aryan?
I doubt Toriyama was thinking about those guys while creating super saiyans
I think it wouldve been better if you included Mercenary Tao in this video though.
Awesome work Geekdom! I really appreciate these DB History videos.
I would love a galactic or android army of the red ribbon army back in the next series
Something great to watch while riding out Hurricane Ian.
I love the Red Ribbon Army. Your video is really cool and informative. Thank you so much. The alternate versions of the Army are interesting. But I have a question. How is mentioned that Black renames the Army as Black Ribbon Army?
In the Dragon Ball GT movie Path to Power.
@@BBBHuey Thanks
Something about Commander Red reminds me of Jerry Stiller
In my opinion, Tao Pai Pai changed the landscape of Dragon Ball in terms of threat
Even after Goku turned Super Saiyan and defeated Frieza for the first time, I know Goku got really sick but that was horrifying when Goku had nightmares about the androids when he was sleeping.
Great video! And really impressed with the amount of research put into it 👏🏾
i personally think the red ribbon army is going to be re done in the future anime version because in the super hero movie they where wasted and basically destroyed in the same arc, they have more potential like cell max actually being a real cell and not just bio broly 2.0
The second I seen the name of this video I knew it was going to be a good one.
cant wait 4 part3...................................................................................................
Danny, purple and red make magenta. Not sure if this was something you didn’t think about but it answers why Red and Violet ate on Magenta’s desk
This is gonna be good!
Black killing Red in the path to power is just so much more chilling
It’s that guy who always starts videos by saying something like ‘no one has ever revealed these dragon ball secrets before’ then just describes the plot, and the occasional allusion thrown in
BANGER!! Great job and I have to get that book.
15:17 uh oh, I know where this is going. As soon as I saw a panoramic view of that getup, it only took me 9 milliseconds😅.
I been waiting on this bro ✊🏾 let’s gooooooo dragon ball in depth 🤟🏾
At a bar with a beer in my hand, watching a Geekdom video. We chillin
i always wondered about why general black and major metalitron got new designs in the path to power. i thought general black did because of the controversy, but now i doubt it because metalitron has the same skin tone and features that general black did in the anime.
i also didn't know about that blob dude being based on the blob. lol
before i knew what canon and noncanon was, as a kid i thought mystical adventure kind of explained why chioatzu always looked like a kid and why he had powers. i thought it was because he was a prince and his family had powers and that explained it. lol
Krillin actually acknowledged that goku must be a alien around the time he first meets goku.
Wish the best of luck with what's going on over in Florida right now
Colonel Silver and Colonel Violet survived and escaped. Hasky was arrested by the cops of the Western Capital City.
The rest were killed or defeated by Goku.
In the anime, Silver was assumed to be shot by Red's men off-screen after his failure.
