You have been VERY conscientious about not buying chipped or broken items for resale. Props to you!
I bought 2 items one that was chipped and one that broken and didn’t realize it until I brought them home. 😢
Pozdrawiam Serdecznie :) :)
The maker of the pottery pitcher, Charles Lisk, is a Catawba County, North Carolina potter. His work is very collectible and usually goes for good money! Great Score!
Also, it's SO handsome. I'm a sucker for speckled pottery.
The orange juice pitcher should sell well - here is a tip on those pitcher, if the top is gone just use the cover from any store bought frosting they fit it perfectly. The silver pierced box I believe is used for holding potpourri.
Sitting here for the next few hours waiting for my youngest daughter to come home from her first semi formal ( we thrifted her gorgeous dress, shoes and jewelry for a whole 30 bucks) Having two videos to watch makes the wait a little less nerve wracking 😂 Thanks Jocelyn for that 😘❤️❤️
I bet she looked lovely.
I remember my oldest daughter's first semi-formal so I understand your nerves. I'm sure your daughter looked stunning and had a great time!
I did the same for my daughter's first formal . She was super gorgeous .
@@maryw246Ty so much and she did! Even one of the teachers came up and said you look so gorgeous and classy. I’m a proud mum 💗
Pozdrawiam Serdecznie :) :)
The hunt scene was painted with the mediums of brewed table tea and Rit brand dye. Artist will sometimes paint with unusual mediums. I have actually used tea and even the little white mold looking things that live on some of the prickly pear cactus here in Texas, which turns a beautiful shade of red when mashed.
That white fuzz conceals cochineal bugs, which have been used for many years to produce red dye.
Great piece, Jocelyn!
@@eloisebates7827 Fun fact, natural red food dye #40 is derived from the cochineal bugs and widely used in the cosmetic and food industries in America (think red M&Ms .. yum, yum).
The orange juice carafe is vintage and brings back sweet memories!!
Jocelyn, the Turkish tea glasses don’t come with stirrers . You have to buy them separately. These are used for red tea .
You touched the matching sugar at 2:16 to that creamer at 7:52 lol
Laurel is going to love her frog toy. I liked the watercolor and same, I don't like hunting etc. Hope everyone is feeling better.
The American greeting Holly Hobby items are amazing
I like the treasures you find but I also like the reality of finding nothing. The latter is what usually happens to me.
That little silver heart box my son bought me at a garage sale in neighborhood when he was 7….so cute
You picked up a Crystal sugar. Did it not match the Crystal creamer ??
Enjoyed your “talk along” and cute “giggles”! They make my days brighter, so don’t QUIT sharing those fun parts of your video. Of COURSE I DO enjoy “looking” at the shelves with you. Don’t find myself pondering over “left behinds” because I’ve been with you and Andrew pre parrots and before your move into the one bathroom VINTAGE house, so I’ve enjoyed learning along “our” journey!! Enjoying watching Laurel grow and Juliette and Ashton playing with her!! She’s been a light in everyone’s lives!! 👏☺️🥰🎉🥳
I loved the painting, too, btw!😁
I do really well with any wooden ducks, decoys in my booth. And now Elephants are being snagged up, every month it changes like the critter of the month club! Enjoyed as always!
I appreciate your insights into what is selling. I’ve been wanting a small brass elephant, I’m watching one on eBay but holding out to find one in the wild.
I learn something new almost every one of your videos.
Today's tidbit was the term "threaded vase."
Whatever you don't know usually Andrew knows. And whatever he doesn't know you probably do. And I love the fact that you aren't afraid to ask us for info too. We all benefit when we learn from each other.
Your so relatable Jocelyn, just love you
Hi Jocelyn just watching your video I enjoy all your videos and think that your family is just amazinng. I am turkish and the glasses you are looking at are used for tea. Keep doing what you're doing as you do it well. Much love from Canada.💕💕
OMG I need to take at trip out to your neck of the woods to see these wonderful things! I hate to sound like a broken record, but the ones in my area pale in comparison! I see so many things that I would be grabbing, and I’m just talking about for my own decor/use. I’m not a reseller. Your stores are fabulous, even tho I’m sure on some days they don’t seem like it to you LOL! Thx again and so fun to watch the vacay videos. I’m with you on the the NO BOAT WITH THE GATORS 😂!
The Motive of the money bank is from Gisela Gottschlich.
My night just got better with a CLL video.
I couldn’t tell but the crack at the neck of the goose might just be a seam. Sometimes the wood ducks and geese are carved from one piece of wood and sometimes the neck and head are made of another piece of wood.
The small amber 3 footed dish is Indiana Glass Co. Diamond Point.
Those are Turkish Tea cups…. I have lots of them cause my husband is Turkish… love your vlogs.
The heart is a wedding favor and you put those colored Almonds in there. I think they are called Jordan Almonds.
North central Maryland was the horsey region of the state. I find hunt scenes there all the time, especially look for local artist's works. One local mid-20thcentury painter found recently was E.S. Voss.
P.S.: Fox Hunting, at one time a form of pest control because foxes liked to rustle up the poultry, is now banned in UK. Was considered cruel because they allowed the dog pack to dispatch and dismember the fox if they caught it.
That blue bowl was a Viking Stockholm bowl designed by Wayne Husted!
This is the comment I was looking for ... ty 😍
Oh, wow! Didn't he do work for Blenko, as well?
What's the timestamp for it?
@kirsten rissling not sure it's the one she put in the cart. It kind of looks flower-ish. Light, blue I think it was.
It's meant to look like a Lotus I think 🤔
I love Laurel's frog toy... so cute.
Pozdrawiam Serdecznie :) :)
Jocelyn, If you purchase a half dozen peacock feathers from the craft store and arrange them in that tall yellowish bottle, it would look stunning and sell for an easy fifty, from your booth, I would think. ( :
Hello Everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have a wonderful weekend. :)
My Goodness I remember flea marketing with my parents in the 70s and all these treasures older women used to sit out and sell for a quarter.
That painting you bought is so pretty. Sounds like its actually colored tea the artist painted with! Makes it even more awesome!!🙂
As far as I know you haven't bought broken or damaged items to sell ,unless your keeping them, that's what I love always about you, good job
Love the videos! One small bit of info…those are not Turkish coffee cups…they are middle eastern tea glasses.
She's not all wrong because they use them in Turkey aswell😉
Thank-you! I’ve seen them listed as Turkish and just assumed that’s what they were. I appreciate the info.
Brown lidded bowl was Marcrest
I get those USA brown crocks everytime I see them.I love them!
I have the orange juice pitcher. It was bought new in 1980. I came with 4 small juice glasses.
You had the crystal sugar in the very beginning.
That Goodwill is packed with things!
I am learning so much from you but I don't know how your remember all the names of the makers of it all. You are truly talented.
Did you just say skiddaddle,? Didn't know Yankees used that word..lolol..and you DID use it appropriately..good job!!
I found the cutest Easter PartyLite set at my local Goodwill for $1.49; still in box; I added to my Easter decorations!
I live in a very small, quaint little town with a thriving antique district and I'm certain the resellers get to everything before anyone else gets a shot. Once in a rare while I will find a true treasure, but it's getting scarcer as time goes on. I'm so envious of your Goodwill stores! I leave mine empty-handed more often than not.
Same for me
Same!
I just go by the mantra now that if it's not there when I am, it's not for me. 😆 that said, I managed to get an 'up' on all the resellers in my area by learning clear glass, baskets, pottery, textiles and original art. The market around here seems to only like colourful retro or upscale clothing brands.
Ohhhh the frog for Laurel is awesome!
Love the grey mug, crystal vase, watercolor, and the big pitcher. The small creamer would have been lovely with a small bouquet of flowers in it. I'm sort of a pitcher nut! The watercolor was quite nice I thought but I'd reframe it to freshen it up if I bought it.
When I was in Turkey we mostly drank tea from that style of cup. The Turkish apple tea was our favorite. Highly recommend if you ever come across it.
Laurel gets a new puppy!!
The dark brown, lidded pottery dish is actually yellow ware which can be pretty valuable!! I’ve owned and sold a few of the mixing bowls. They have always done well for me! Fun fact: the top edges of the mixing bowls were once used to sharpen knives. When you find them in the wild with rough, textured top edges, this is intentional and not an accident.
I give you great credit for not buying damaged goods. Condition is everything. There are exceptions. I cringe when you pick up compromises, but I ❤ ya! You’re the expert. So , give yourself super credit, you are great!
The crystal looked like Nova Scotia (Canada) handcut crystal. They recently closed down operations and therefore are quite collectible.
"Charles Lisk's work has been offered at auction multiple times, with realized prices ranging from 125 USD to 475 USD, depending on the size and medium of the artwork. Since 2016 the record price for this artist at auction is 475 USD for Western NC Folk Pottery, sold at Leland Little Auction & Estate Sales in 2022." I hope this s your potter!
I'm glad you stuck it out to the end
And scored!!!
What you called English hobnail is a 70's floral vase. Bought in lots of 12/24and came in green, clear, amber.
P.S. I’m hoping that you picked up those Turkish Coffee cups, they were beautiful! 😊💕Christina 🍋
I’ll never look at used pepper grinders the same again either 😂
I don’t buy damage item’s except a Jim Shore piece. I can fix it because I found the piece on the shelf. A little glue and touch up with paint. It’s for me so it’s not a problem.
I love the watercolor. It's the muted colors I like best.
Those were good hauls. 👍 I liked the orange juice carafe, the piggy bank, the goose and the fox hunt picture. I'm sure Laurel will love her frog toy. 🐸 It's adorable. Going to Goodwills or other shops in or close to affluent areas ( 💲💰🤑) usually yields authentic treasures.
You found some nice items. Love the frog pull toy for Laurel.
The watercolor is great! Great find!
I love the amber footed bowl, and the glass pitcher.
Hi Jocelyn, thanks for your channel, I enjoy going with you to your hunts for Goodwill treasure, & other stores too! Thanks again, Christina 🍋
That pottery pitcher is everything!
I would buy the bottles without the stoppers , I have seen so many stoppers for sale .
Turkish coffee or Greek coffee is served in small glasses. They don't stir as the sediment settles in the bottom, not to be drunk.
Jocelyn, for my booth, here in 🇨🇦, I find a decent amount of Pier 1, and it sells really well, Bombay too. There's several larger mass production specialty home decor places like this that collaborated with smaller designers/producers that are quality products and, because they're discontinued, are desirable. Having said that, I'd only be able to sell that $15 vase for, not much more, and I'd have had to pass on picking it up, too.
Can’t wait to see what you bought
That's sounds like a t-shirt designed for me: 'I shouldn't have done it, but I did' 🙄😎
I loved the clear vase
A nice Gold lighterf for back in the day when we just didn't know any better. I hope it's not for Drew (don't encourage him) But there are people who collect them, especially the large table ones .
I absolutely hate the cruelty of Fox hunts but admit I would’ve been tempted to buy that unusual (tea-stained?) painting.
That water color was interesting, though odd. The media used were tea and Rit dye! Strange....
Love the water color , not the fox hunting .
ALL U resellers SURE make it hard for US that can't AFFORD stuff!!!! rock on!!
Love the wood duck
The pottery and frog were great!
Hello and thank you for your videos I enjoy a lot, as for those crystal and gold cups, they are not for Turkish coffee, they are Tea cups called estekhan mostly used in Irak, Iran, and the Midde East, the Turkish coffee is sipped from small cups
Fun video. Thanks for sharing! 😊✌
Happy shopping
Love your videos ❤️
They are Turkish tea glasses.
Great shopping always enjoy shopping with you. Never know what you can find. Please Stay Safe Happy and Healthy Have A Wonderful Day
You’re doing great, leaving broken stuff on the shelves..😉And you found nice items.👍🏼
Love the water colour painting x
Loved those stacked mixing bowls!
There’s foxhunting now without the fox.
Prices out of control in one op shop over here. $35 for 2 glass bowls today!!!!!
we had the whole set of poppytrail metlox rooster dishes when i was a kid. i remember those roosters. im in my 60s soooo..
I was big into rooster stuff in the 70's and my grandmother gave me a plate that went with the platter.
We dont have enough in our goodwill to spend an hour looking! I would LOVE to just one time go to a good goodwill or any thrift store and find something with a little value. Im not trying to get rich. Im mostly having fun!
Great video.. laurel will love her little froggy toy ❤️
I really wanted to see the Yellow Lab at Fredericktown!
I’ve got one of those orange juice pitchers because it reminded me of my childhood but I think these are modern versions…
Good bye, TikTok! Hello, CLL! My Friday Night just became perfect! Sending you lots of love & positive vibes from the coast of South Carolina!!! 💜🫶🏼💜🫶🏼💜🫶🏼
Love the video ❤️❤️
The piggy bank was Hornsea England and the pattern is called gottschild girl. Beautiful pieces
Fabulous Flipping, well done spotting the value of these treasures ❤
Those are Turkish chai glasses...Turkish tea. Turkish coffee cups are just small cups with handle on a saucer, usually white.
I’m a sucker for amber glass!! I really like the bowl!!
I was thinking CLL sure doesn't fool with any chips anymore she used to say awww it's so cute even though it has a chip I'll still forgive the chip
Go for it with gusto!
