    I purchased this Brand at a shop called Graham Weight in Wales. I cleaned up the welds put some Milwaukee stickers on it and made a beautiful bike out of it. To look at it you would think it's a carbon frame and I like the way it rides. I base a whole RUclips channel around it.

    Something I always do after changing/renewing headset bearings is to take the wheel out again and ensure the bearings are not too tight, is to rotate the bars left/right and feel if they are too stiff! You'll not feel the stiffness if the wheel is still fixed in.

    if you hold the bike in the air with no pressure on the front wheel. easier if you have some one else hold the bike frame and then you move the wheel from side to side. if you feel any rumble as the bearings move it could be too tight. if you feel any play could be too loose.
    another way would be to strip the bike and check the bearings or take them to a mechanic would will be able to help you
    thanks for the tips. great help!

    "lube" is a loose term; WD-40 is lubricant. I believe what is required is a higher viscosity and non-evaporating lubricant like grease or oil.

    Very informative with great detail. My only suggestion would be to lose the music. As an older American, I need to strain to hear through the British accent over the music. Great job though.

    Grease. Never use GT85/ WD-40 type sprays on bearings.

    Why must the spacers be in that order. Isn't the thickness what is relevant which the order does not impact.
    I do like the fact that you have the front brake on the right side. Being in the US I always have to switch brake left and right, because I like the front on the right side also.

    What specific type of grease would you recommend that we can buy in the shops or order from the web? Would you recommend the Motorex Bike Grease 2000 or are there any other car specific Calcium based greases that are also good for our goal?

    what if my bearings are dozens of small metal marbles? How do I put those back?

    • @RadoHudran
      @RadoHudran 6 лет назад

      use some cold grease (then it's more stiff) for the part where you are gonna put the bearings on and put them back on carefully with a screwdriver or something magnetic.
      I think you should have 12/bearing

    I'm putting together a Dolan L'Etape frameset at the moment. I've figured out where all the headset bearings etc go but I'm defeated by the locking star-nut it came with. I cant even get it to fit in the steerer tube?

      Ricardo Russo Put some lube in the fork and gently hammer it down, your fork is probably rusty.
