    The only reason Oracle bought Sun Microsystems was so they could sue Google over their use of Java. The fact is that in 2006 Sun Microsystems (creators of Java) open sourced the language and the tools they had built (SDK, compiler, etc...). There were portions not open sourced and Oracle saw an opportunity for gains through litigation. First Android phone launched in 2008. Oracle bought Sun Microsystems in 2010, for value of the IP which to an extent, they successfully claim entitlement to through litigation going all the way to a Supreme Court ruling in their favor.

    • @hilariofranco3567
      @hilariofranco3567 3 месяца назад

      @mtsb2394 Apple market cap when Steve took over (1997) was around $2B. When Steve Jobs died in 2011, Apple market cap was around $400B. So, their market cap multiplied 200x in ~14 years. Right now, Apple's market cap is about $3.5T, which means in the 13 years since Steve's death, Apple's market cap has been multiplied by about 8.6x. 200x in 14 years vs 8.6x in 13 years, which one is better? This looks even worse when you take into account Microsoft, Nvidia, and other tech companies which had market caps far behind Apple in 2011, but have since given Apple a run for its money. Tim Cook and leadership are very talented, but they're no Steve Jobs.

He originated the template for purchase and dismantle other tech companies that are either too small to defend themselves or recouping from economic downturns. If anyone doubts his ego maniac reptillian qualities they only need to look at his xunzi themed garden from which he waxes poetic his demands on the world.

    His entire response on the NSA is pure sarcasm. Not a single statement regarding it reflects reality. In fact I think he made the democracy statement to allude to his own ridiculousness. He obviously can't speak the truth as it would be "irresponsible" in terms of stock price and government sales.
    He would defend murder if he thought Oracle stock would be affected.

    There's something suspicious about Ellison's integrity to me. To say that what Larry Page _did_ is evil, but not the Page himself is evil, is a philosophical contradiction. No doubt a rationalized political stance, but a contradiction none the less. Actions do not take place apart from the prime mover. If Page did something evil then _Page_ did something evil. The resulting actions were a product of Page's mind; Page's orchestration. The action doesn't take independent moral responsibility apart from the actor. Larry cannot possibly believe it to be otherwise, therefore he is lying, therefore I question his own integrity.

    I'm sorry Steve jobs is not a brilliant man, it was his staff thatf was the driving force behind Apple. Steve Ivey was the one that put apps in clean square shapes onto the cell phone which he travel many times to Europe and seeing clocks from Switzerland, colors from all over Europe that made his execution a success. Jobs drank coffee and met with his homies in lobbies yapping while the true grinders like Steve Wozniak and incredible engineers did the dirty work. Jobs didn't have a college degree and never knew how to do coding which takes 8 hrs to learn. Ellison lost his credibility when he said jobs was the best vissionary. I want to put that on my resume I'm a great vissionary! Geez! So much horse maneuver this man expels.

      @@democracysdoomsday7905 they didnt know how to quantify Steve jobs' position because his own staff didn't know what he was clearly doing. Jobs yelled at his top engineers and designers and it was his call to 'move forward' With the project or redo the designs. In all after jobs passed Tim cook was his successor and Apple is doing alot better which tells me many of the original staff left and brought new creators and it's still doing fine due to cheap labor in China now moving the plant to Vietnam or Mexico to maintain cheap labor cost. The iphone costs in parts around $1.80 per phone and they inflate the price to $1200??!! That over 1000% percent markup. So we can safely say it wasn't Steve jobs or tim cook that was responsible for the tremendous growth it was the cheap labor that's the driving force behind Apple.
      Me: I rest my case, your honor I move to dismiss this case on the grounds that Steve jobs' is a visionary. He is not but a charlatan that got everyone fooled.
      Judge: dismiss granted.
