Such a beauty. I actually watched this video while drinking a coffee from a slayer machine at a coffee shop. Coffee was amazing, sweet and velvety. I hope you’re still brewing delicious coffee on it. I’ve actually thinking of upgrading my Lelit MaraX to the Bianca, it’s been on my mind for a while, though I need to test flow profiling to see if it’s my thing before moving on to a bigger machine.
Oh hey! One of the fellow brothers of proliferating the local coffee scene in our city. I see the Slayer espresso machines sometimes but don't see as much in comparison to others in the local/specialty coffee places. Is there any reason why? Was just thinking this would be crazy good money for economy/local area.
All of your videos are so well done. I enjoy them visually. You nailed a fun POV mini unboxing, and nice choice at 5:12 of the light fixture in the background, juxtaposed to the Slayer. The passion and effort is appreciated. :) Best wishes.
It's really a nice machine and I can easily see why people are into it. For myself I couldn't justify the power consumption of this for a home user. Heating 5L of water for a few shots a day is a bit overkill. That's also one part why the decent is so great. But no hate. Everyone has different preferences and what your heart desires isn't always rational.
Very interesting video, thank you. One factor that is rarely if ever considered in domestic espresso makers is energy use. Say you switch on your Slayer, let it heat up, make two cups of coffee, then turn it off immediately. In doing so you will be heating 4.4 litres of water from 20 to 120 degrees C, plus the water to make the coffee and steam the milk. The system is not 100% efficient or insulated and there will be energy losses, so a rough calculation suggests this will take 1kWh of electricity or 0.5kWh per cup. That a lot of energy to make a small cup of coffee. A Tesla Model 3 typically has a battery capacity of 50kWh or 100 cups of coffee... Obviously in a commercial setting the energy cost per cup falls dramatically due to the economies of scale.
I just got a bianca and its been wonderful, watched a lot of your videos before I bought it. Slayer is awesome, I will admit I don't love how it looks as much as everyone else but its growing on me, specially in white. Also props for not getting a decent, decent is great but everyone has one now a days, good to have different content and I too love a more mechanical machine and why I bought a bianca.

Can you do a workflow video using your new rig? Gorgeous machine, but I cannot justify that sort of money on a machine for myself. Lelit Bianca V3 will do me nicely.
Bianca is wonderful. More than the vast majority of people need.
Kyle, that slowmo bubbly water moment was too good. You bring so much good fun humor to your videos. Selfishly I hope you get a decent so you can help me get the most out of mine. I also have an ECM Synch and totally agree there’s something more satisfying with analog.
I’ll have a decent eventually. You just have to convince rao and John to give me a discount. I can’t afford all of this stuff. Ha
With that looks, I wouldn’t even care if it makes good coffee or not. It really looks like the super sports car of the espresso machines.
Yeah… it truly doesn’t hurt the eyes.
I am currently using a LM GS3 and was thinking about upgrading to a slayer 1gp or a leva 1gp, one thing that stops me from considering the slayer is only because it doesn't have a water tank. Anyways please use the shit out of this machine and give us more about its in depth content!
Will do! How do you like your gs3?
@@KyleRowsell good looking machine, stable, reliable, makes me drink more coffee and spend more $$$ lol P.S. interesting fact, in China people recently go crazy for this brand, the price of an used GS3(1-2years) is selling higher than when I first bought it a year ago
What ? WHAT ? WTF !! ?
You broke up ?
Kyle, congrats on chasing and capturing your Dream. It sounds like you are really enjoying the new machine and well done. Looking forward to full review. I find it a great looking statement piece, for sure. Enjoy !
Thanks Alan! Haha
If you want to try a decent1 without spending thousand dollars, a Gaggia Classic Pro with a gaggiuino is a good way to experiment with decent1 features on cheap.
I like that you went for the Slayer and Sprometheus went for the GS3. Variation in End-game content 👍
I saw that. Very fun.
Hahaha. Nothing but love here but do we really need to take out a second mortgage on a machine that makes coffee?
Never buy anything outside your means. I’m grateful this was within my means.
Let me have the bianca second hand!
My favourite cafe has a 3 group version. Amazing machine.
Sure is!
I'll make sure Bianca is never wanting of proper water and bomb coffee. Are you adopting it out at a good price?
I’m assuming you didn’t finish the vid haha 😂 it’s sticking around the studio
@@KyleRowsell haha nope
@@JusBThankful you’re killing me haha. Watch till the end my friend!
@@KyleRowsell the sad part was I watched the whole thing right after posting and still missed you saying that...so it must be that bad Canadian English you guys use up north 😅
Beautiful machine and aesthetically, my favourite. Did you consider the GS3 as well, as I heard the build quality is better, but not sure if that is true? Congratulations on the beast.
I really considered the GS3. Both machines are incredible. I felt the build was superior on the slayer (personally) and loved the design more. There were some other reasons as well that I’ll highlight in the full review
@@KyleRowsell Interested to see your take on it!
Love the Slayer! Can't wait for more content, but thought an awesome comparison would be the Slayer to the upcoming Synesso ES1. Kind of a blend between the Slayer and the Decent. Congrats on your dream machine!
Agreed!
If you've ever 2anted Buffy the Vampire Slayer to be on your kitchen table, just waiting for you to release her hot steam and her ability to push out all that juicy syrupy coffee, the slayer is aching for you
If consistent flow control was your goal, why not Dalla Corte Mina?
It was more complicated than simply consistent flow, but that was one factor. The largest was my deep love for these machines
@@KyleRowsell got it
Great machine 👍. I had considered the Slayer but decided on a custom Kees Van der Westen Speedster about a year back. Similar price, did you consider it while looking around?
The Kees is beautiful. I did but it wasn’t available to me unfortunately
