It’s funny the 3rd movie “the continuing story” when Anne and Gilbert get married is shot a few years after Road to Avonlea, so the actor is older. But here he says he is already married and has children. Anne is also by Marilla’s side when she dies
AndWhatIsThisNow but why would Anne and gills sons go to war they would not have been born or old enough to go to ww1 but to ww2 yes as the characters are set in 1914 onwards when Matthew dies it’s around 1918

@JONES I actually agree that the other books aren't all that good, mainly because Anne has no character arc any longer. It was like Montgomery did all her character development in the first book. Later she has some adventures, and she has to find out what kind of man to choose, but more and more the books even stop being about Anne, and start being about people she meet, friends and family (lastly, of course, Rilla, her daughter). No, it isn't. Marilla does not die in the books until "Rilla of Ingleside," and by then, Davy is a grown man who it's assumed has taken over Green Gables with his wife. Reference is made to this in "Anne of Ingleside" when Anne comes home for a brief visit after Gilbert's father passes away, and Rachel mentions Davy's wife "Millie" and Millie's pies. Marilla tells Anne that Davy has expressed interest in taking over the farmland which was rented to Mr. Barry (Diana's father) prior. Don't go by the movies, or this series -- go by the books, and it will become clear to you how muddled Sullivan made the screenplays away from the various books' series. It’s not a bad storyline. They should’ve had a similar story with Anne and Gil getting the house back instead of having Gil serve in WW1 and Anne chasing after him in the continuing story. Perhaps Megan had other commitments when this was made.
@@samanthamartyn619 Very likely. There's also the issue of Megan striving to avoid the "typecasting" problem. Her being "Anne" did really negatively affect her ability to land other roles, because everyone thought of her as "Anne" and nothing else. One can hardly blame her for wanting to move on from the character.
I watched the series, Anne of Green Gables, then Anne of Avonlea, never knew of the adult years, Can anyone tell me the name of the other shows or movie...would love to see the ending.
You've seen green gables and avonlea. Anne of green gables the continuing story, was an epic fail. Its set during ww1, anne and Gilbert not married yet. The rest is complete nonsense. There's "ann with an e" this new show is a bit darker. Married years, just stick with the books.
@@mar1sasue the show was called "road to avonlea". It focused on the king family, it takes place several years after Anne and Gilbert got married and moved away. The movie where Anne and Gilbert aren't married and WW1 happening is "in a different timeline". That one strays so far from the books.
I almost prefer Anne not being able to come with Gilbert. He gives a peek into their lives, married, with children, him practicing as a doctor. And even with scarlet fever, she probably was bull headed enough to try and drag herself to get in the carriage and drive herself there. And even at his insistence that she stay home and him too, to help take care of her but still threatening Gilbert with death and dismemberment if he didn't go.
That one was the saddest espodes about Colleen Duhurest. She was a great actress playing Marella Cuppet. Green Gambles did not go to her adopted daughter Anne. 😢
I wish Anne was able to come. I mean I understand because she had scarlett fever. But, Marilla was her Mother figure and for Anne not to come to her funeral? I don’t get it. But I guess back then, if you lived far away, it was hard to get news.
In the books, Davy and Dora stay with Marilla until they are grown. Davy eventually runs the farm and marries Millie, and they live at Green Gables, and Dora has a beau, but while no mention is made of her marrying him, it's assumed she does at some point.

My Opinion! Gil is dreamy 😍
I don't know the reason why Megan Follows did not even make a one-time appearance on the TV series. Perhaps it was Kevin Sullivan's decision... to have us (the viewer) see how life on Avonlea was like when Anne is not there. People still tuned in.
Yes, do read the books. The last movie deviates too far from the original stories. The books are rich and descriptive and wonderful.
How did I miss this?
I'm wondering the same thing.
awww itty bitty sarah and felix
Does anyone know what season and episode this is? I love Gil.😍
Season 3 Episode 13
where can i watch the complete season and episode of this please
@@philmycrevice3536 I’m confused about what this is. I know of the three movies but there was a show?
@@mar1sasue the show was called "road to avonlea". It focused on the king family, it takes place several years after Anne and Gilbert got married and moved away. The movie where Anne and Gilbert aren't married and WW1 happening is "in a different timeline". That one strays so far from the books.
@@Deliveries_with_ADHD thank you! I was so confused 😂
I just watched this episode
Where can I find this movie, is it available on DVD or PBS. Please tell me. I loved the Anne of Green Gables series. Ty.
We said and agreed at 48 hours.
😂
What a surprise
where can I watch full movie free?
Any one knows whom Rachel, Daley and Dora will live with?
Is Davy, and yes, read the second book: Anne of Avonlea
In the books, Davy and Dora stay with Marilla until they are grown. Davy eventually runs the farm and marries Millie, and they live at Green Gables, and Dora has a beau, but while no mention is made of her marrying him, it's assumed she does at some point.
In the third film, Rachel tells Anne Davy enlisted as well.
RIP .
