Thanks for watching!
To learn more about these bikes, check out the links in the description.✌
My R+M wishlist: 1) Fat Tire option - we are under local regulations of 4" tires or wider for winter riding on our trail system; 2) Rohloff - we are 1000% sold on Rohloff; 3) Diet, time for ALL models to shave some weight - besides carrying up stairs, we have to lift our bikes onto hitch racks or into the back of a van or truck.
This is the review of R&M I wait for. I have watched his videos for years and although I will never likely buy a bike from him, I trust Chris. He explains things to me in a way I understand. Thank you.
Many reviewers do great on detailing the innovations but don’t mention the day to day running costs and service fees.
Ingenious design. That quick-lock stem adjustment was the mind-bender for me. Incredible design.
SOO EXCITING seeing these new bikes from R&M!!!! Can’t wait until they finally arrive in shops for a greater walkaround!!
Just ordered my Charger 4 a week and a half ago, with Bosch’s new ABS for their smart system. So excited to start riding it later this Fall! Thanks Propel team for making these Riese & Müller videos, they helped me make a decision for R&M and are now making the anticipation a bit more bearable.
Was just gifted a used Riese and Muller black e bike with two bosch batteries called performance line cx
Wondering how much this bike is worth?
Fabulous company founded from their leaders and complete team. If I could ever afford to, I would happily buy every model of bike they produce, probably belt drive where possible these days. I wish R&M continued success
What a great interview and excited to see their new bikes.
Thanks Chris and Heiko for sharing such Inspiring design and innovation!
Beautiful bikes! Hopefully, we will see prices drop all around. I'd love to own one but would be too afraid to lock it up anywhere.
Insurance is key!
Security is an issue but there are solutions- a GPS Tracker worth installing and (obviously) a very good lock....
R&M are awesome. Some of the nicest looking and best engineered bikes out there. I still ride my 2005 classic Birdy folding bike. Just love their work.
Another fantastic insight into what is new in the bike world. Really enjoy your in depth approach, many thanks for sharing.
I have waited for this video for six month! ❤️👍😎
Truly appreciate the high quality german feel those bikes deliver. So glad the Packster 70 is back, I rode it once and thought it was terrible but so well put out.
Thanks for your videos Chris
Beautiful functional machines....definitely an e-cargo bike in my future.
The normal men explaining the invention of the 2020s and beyond. Wonderfully made this video. The bikes are quite expensive, but then you have the very best. Enjoy cycling with an e-speed on the Dutch cycle paths, taking older people into account. The Netherlands is the most beautiful cycling country in the world and the safest. Thx for this.
Glad to see the Packster is back, and even happier to hear about rear suspension being an option. Now if R&M would give us a HS version of the Packster, life would be perfect! .... Until they get around to doing that, I'd be thrilled to see integrated batteries on the Load 60 instead!😊
Wow those R&Ms are incredible!
Great videos, sir. Thank you for sharing.
No mention of the Nevo 4 but reading between the lines if you want a HS Rohloff then you’d be better going for the current Nevo 3 plus you can have a dual battery any a Nyon display.
Chris and Heiko thank you for the comprehensive update for early 2023.
As alway you’re videos always hit the mark! ❤️
You guys are the future !!! And so are the people who buy your bike's
I love this video!!! freaking amazing bikes from R&M. 🤩 I want to see a video from Gazelle too. 😍
Great video. Love your bringing the Euro Bike Show. I didn’t see the Super Delight-so changes worth mentioning? That’s the bike I’m thinking could replace several bikes I currently own
I have a Fazua powered bike, and it's good to see R&M joining the club
Multitinker looks really cool and practical.
That Urban line single speed is a thing of beauty.
only 45, 51, 57 cm frame sizes. that's a bit odd
my dream bike with only one big problem , its to expensive.
Great video as always. Have they given any word on Nevo & Homage updates for 2023? Would really love to see new technology in these two bikes.
Great interview.
Any innovations against theft? Really worried about leaving a $7000 bike behind...
This is my worry, I've been eyeing up a Superdelite but I can't really afford to lose such an expensive bike.
We found out with Tesla, there were a surprising amount of crazy Americans that couldn’t control their impulses to scratch the cars just because of jealousy; if not steal them outright. So I’m concerned maybe it can’t be in my future. I’d even be willing to use my finger I.D. Or dialogue with my iPhone and password to enable starting the bike.
Great video reviews
Wow, the return of the Packster *now with full suspension* I am sold. I wonder what the issue was with the old steering system.
Nice bikes, it is a pitty that the normal tinker did not get the CX motor again!
Very interesting to see their all line up. I’m now confused with Packster with the Suspension vs. the Load 60. How do they differ now?
I think the forty pound weight would get you under the limit of the flip down bus bike racks. I've told a lot of people who are considering an ebike, that they should consider a folding bike if they have a multi-modal commute. This would alter that calculation.
The Gogoro Eeyo e-bike is a mere 27 lbs. Admittedly they don't include a kickstand which is cheating in my book. But still, it shows that under 30 is possible.
Great video again Chris.. When you come over to the UK you must get in touch with a small family run company called "Westhill Bikes".. I'm rather new to E-bikes but would like to say I've followed you for sometime through your journey with "Propel".. But over hear in the UK I would say for the cost of starting out on this journey of Electric Bikes that my wife & I have bought 2 Westhill Venture Mountain E-bikes & we love them.. the company is based in a lovely part of the UK & it would be great if you could contact them to see what E-biking in the UK is doing to help people into the adventure for Under $2000 Because we need this adventure more in this country & the way you are working with other companies in Europe it would be good for Westhill Bikes to be looked at as what I feel is a brilliant bike with lots of fun things to start off riding with for fun in the UK.
Thanks!
Love it!!!
hey chris, thx for the content. i'm seeking a bike for door dash delivery, one w/ belt drive and a long range. what would you recommend?
Wonderful video but I wish the supply chain would allow all the products to be available now....The bikes are of good quality...
Soooooo sleek. This stuff just oozes quality.
Clearly they are concerned about competition from the Tern GSD.
Straight rip off
Man they look so cool. Wish they were more affordable :/
Easy to justify Austin. If you use public transport or have to pay for parking these bikes will pay for themselves in two to four years. Not to forget they are also useful grocery vehicles. Then it's all a bonus.
@@richardharker2775 I agree that they pay for themselves eventually, it's the initial cost that just isn't feasible for a lot of people.
@@richardharker2775 Hmm, I'm not saying these bikes don't have a build quality to justify their price. But if you have a local bus pass in most cities its probably around 120. So their cheaper bikes look to be around 5700. So you are at "minimum" 4 years worth of a local bus pass. Again not saying the bike is not worth that; but its a luxury expense not a save money expense. Plus I'm sure if you lived in the city center its not going to replace all your trips on mass transit.
@@bensonr2 I contemplated city life without a car as public transport to and from the city is very convenient. When transfers are necessary as where I live now public becomes more complicated, time consuming and expensive just to get to work. With my ebike (Focus) it is 25 minutes hail rain or shine and no sweat. Public transport can be anywhere from 25 to 80 minutes due to traffic and transfers.
The ebike has been a huge asset in my circumstances.
@@AustinEschweiler That is the ouch factor. I went for a cheaper Focus with 2nd tier Bosch motor but was expensive for me then but in time you tend to forget that price since the bike has greater value in other respects.
Right at this moment 20:48 watch when Chris says “excited” you see a guy in the background walk by and yawn 😁
Yes, great new bikes (or renewed bikes) from R&M. Now, they have several big cargo bike models again; but I am not sure that being so lookalike with previous withdrawn model will not harm the new Packster.
But I really do not understand where is going Bosch with it's new auto proclaimed "smart" system. It seems not to be compatible with the Nyon display, which is not old at all, neither with Rohloff. What a progress !!! Is the ability to run app on your smartphone more important ??? When I ride a bike, I ride a bike, I don't use apps, I ride...
Perhaps you’re not in a position to answer this, but, in your opinion, how do you think the multi tinker compares to the GSD?
Yay It's Chris
Good video. Help me now, I'm looking for a Packster or load to putt around with my 14 lb. Yorkie dog. Which model would work the best?
The Multitinker looks nice, but it looks like with the seat up in the most efficient pedaling position the rider can't reach the ground from the saddle.
For a rear loaded bike I consider that important. The center of gravity on the rack can get somewhat high, and it's important to be able to brace the load when stopped, so I would like to be able to reach the ground.
The three point support lets you brace a ridiculously heavy load easily. Cargo bikes are too strongly influenced by sporting bikes, so they're not as practical as they could be.
So the first bike is a direct competitor to the Tern. I can imagine with R&M it will also be quite a bit more expensive as well.
Tern are increasingly popular here in Aus and for good reason. They cost a little more than regular but Tern, like Riese and Muller, don't skimp on quality and practical accessories make them more attractive.
Yep. Looks to me like the MutliTinker is a direct HSD competitor.
I thought the same thing, although the overall silhouette of the GSD family is kinda the platonic ideal of a bike to carry one kid and some groceries.
Undeniably, R&M Multitinker is going for the Tern compact cargo market. I own a loan 60 and rode a Tern GSD for a couple of days. R&M is expensive for sure, but Tern is nowhere near the quality. I no longer pay for gas, registration, parking a car - even expensive ebikes pay for themselves if you ditch the car.
Oh God, we're going down the "this thing is actually better than this other thing because it's my favorite" road.
How long until we get the "Calvin peeing on a Tern/R&M/Gazelle" logo stickers?
Need a good winter ebike that can carry gear for roads that are hardly maintained in winter, any recommendations?
If Fazua's system is good enough to make R&M stop being Bosch exclusive, will Propel remain Bosch exclusive?
Very good question. I am very interested in an R&M super light city bike.
The roadster is 12 lbs heavier than the UBN, particially because of the motor, but the Bosch on the Roadster is higher nm. I think I'll go with the Roadster until the first gen Fauza/R&M is vetted by consumers, Also because you can get a smartphone hub for the Roadster too. UBN is gorge tho! Love the green color of The Five.
"When you have kids and that type of things"...subtle, very subtle...:P
Good vid!
Does Woody Allen produce bikes now? 😉
Chris Is there a problem with rolloff hub on the new bikes?
Chris knows way more than mr. Muller :)
dam I already have 3 bikes and now i feel i need another one
R&M make great bikes, for an eye-watering price. I wonder why there are so few reviews of bikes that offer nearly the same performance for half the price, Giant, Canyon, Haibike and others. Any ideas Chris?
Mic volume was quite low but nice video.
That simple ebike control they have on the urban bike should be the default for their cargo models too. Screens just break, gets dropped, or get stolen the one time you forget to remove them.
I have a basic cycling computer (Sigma), lightweight and easy to remove when you leave the bike outside. It gives all the information I need and only costs around 15€.
Instead of bigger batteries what about smaller ones with more range / increased capacity in other words investment in battery tech as seen in cars?
I am quite surprised that we don't see dual battery systems on cargo bikes. They would easily benefit the most from a system like that.
It’s an option on all of them
Beautiful bikes. Too bad they are gutless when needing to go up hills. Will stick to my 52v mid drive with IGH for taking kiddo with me on trails and through the city.
How do safety standard differ between EU and US?
Dreaming for a Transporter 85 HS, then I can retire my home rebuild of the load 75 HS, properly do deliveries and dump the van 🙂
Hi were there any updates announced for the Superdelight series?
No updates to the Superdelite
How much do these bikes cost?
Hmm, why this multitinker reminds me of Tern bikes?
Does your parnership with Bosch prevent you from reviewing ebikes that use motors and batteries other than Bosch?
Not at all. I don’t have anything formal. It’s just our preferred vendor for motor systems
Do they sell well? I mean because the brand is very expensive
Why no carbon belt drive
I'd never buy another R&M because of lack of support from the dealers here in the UK esp. the one in London.
Here in Aus there is a massive lack of availability and because we're a small market for them a 100 bike order becomes a 5 bike delivery. One bonus is a Bosch service centre close to where I live.
Nicccccce ✨
Multitinker or multicharger? decisions decisions
Multitînker, i always ask myself why a brand as R&M didn’t take the same path of tern with 20inch wheel longtail. I live in Paris, there is so much longtail cargo bikes compare to 2 years before. And believe me most of them are tern gsd now, and some from Decathlon (for the price point).
But very rare to see some multi charger.
R&M had no choice to make 20inch longtail cargo, because 26 inch on a longtail is not a very smart idea especially if you want women to drive it easily. In Paris we see very often young mothers on a gsd with kids behind…
Sorry for my English … far from perfect…
By the way this MultiTinker is very attractive to me. I can’t wait to try one!
UPDATE TO THEIR eMTBs
R&M are really where Mercedes were in the early 1970s. Multiple competitors were about to fail, leaving the market a lot less crowded than in the previous 2 decades. Their engineering preeminence & lifetime cost of ownership proposition eventually won out. They dominated the premium market and then set out to conquer the middle market by progressively serving different market niches in a way no other brand could match. Good luck to R&M, I hope they succeed. If they do, I might even be able to afford to buy one of their cheaper models in future! 😆
Great comment! If you live in the UK- the Cycle to Work scheme offers massive discounts on E bikes, and there is no limit to what you can get price wise...
Love their bikes, but soooo pricey.
Is it only me, or the volume is very low here?
Imagine a family of 3 spending $21,000 to enjoy riding their ebikes together.
Less than a car.
Pretty lame bosch got rid of dual batteries in the smart system
they should find a way to lower their prices
I know what you mean but these bikes are designed to last a decade or even two.
@@myopenmind527 i know. i was kidding. i meant to do the cry laugh emoji but im a boomer
@@greg4629 people would be shocked if they knew what my Superdelite cost but to me it’s worth way more than a second/ third car. 👍
Light weight...40 lbs!?
Sell your car, get a cargo bike, you will be happier.
ok
It's a gsd but more expensive and worse as doesn't have the accessories
Boy, it’d be nice if you didn’t keep interrupting him and let him finish his sentences.
