Honestly the story is really deep and melancholy. Its a fun little episode and I enjoyed it and cant wait for the second.

When I saw the trailer I thought I'd like the father more than the kid, but that guy is fucked up...
They really nailed down the environmental story telling this time around and it's rare that you can find out so much about someone just by spending a few moments in someone's room.

This game actually has quite a better graphics compare to Life is Strange games & other telltale games imo.

"First game" = Life Is Strange Season 1.
If I recall, the first episode of Life is Strange was free to play. You had to buy the full game for episodes 2-5. Don't know if they did that for BTS, but that was a different dev. Seems like a great way to market an episodic game. It worked on me.
They're not making any further episodes for this. It's purely made to promote Life is Strange 2.

Dunno, but when I play God of war my PS4 sounds like its going to take off and fly around the room.
I had the same issue a couple months back when playing Until Dawn I had to open the PS4 and remove the dust out of the fan area then my PS4 became quiet.

really loved it, I hated and felt so sorry for Chris' dad and Chris was just such an awesome character.
It would be cool if that kid grew up to be the antagonist in LIS 2 depending on the choices.
I've been obsessed with this game. I can relate to the kid (minus abusive parent) and I have a brother that's the same age as Chris so this hit me right in the feels. I'm worried the actual game won't be about Chris or Chris will be a teen or something. If that's the case then I won't play it.

Life Is Strange..... I have mixed feelings about it. On the one hand, I like the characters (well... aspects of the characters), the setting, the story, and the audio/visuals. But it has so many little issues that just stack up over time and really drag it down after a while. I didn't like BTS at all, but this looks interesting, so I'll be sure to check it out!
Lovely game, but I really hoped that LiS2 would pick up where LiS1 ended, and take the girls for a crazy Bonnie & Clyde road trip, so somehow the new characters didn't really hook me.

I just finished it and I actually liked it. Never played Life is Strange and I'm wondering how this will tie into the sequel, I'm unsure if I'm gonna buy it but if there was a Captain Spirit game I'd definitely play that.

you clearly have no understanding of either games or pricing...
'1-2 hours' is the typical length of a Ubisoft game before it starts getting repetitive. And they cost up to $120 for the full repetitive experience. Get your shit straight.

Can you all calm the fuck down the guy is making an obvious joke considering it's a free game. Quality over quantity of course but this isn't perfection. If it did cost anything it would have to be cheap because 1-2 hours is short compared to most games (indie included) so for a Triple A publisher anything that short isn't excusable. Don't get emotional because someone said something you don't like.

Dontnod confirmed several times, that Max& Chloe will NOT appear in LiS 2. The universe will be the same, but the story is not.

I am a Grey haired Gamer and this doesn't do any memory lane stuff for me. Plus back in the day - if I had gone out of the house looking like that - my mates would have beat the crap out of me for being an autistic dweeb.
If they release a game of hooligans smashing up the neighbourhood and drinking beer and smoking pot and listening to Frank Zappa, etc - then yea - memory lane here I come..

I just couldn't get in to this game unfortunately, I think I'm just getting older and becoming more a fan of linear games. I used to love choices in games but now they give me anxiety lol. Even a lot of open world games leave me unsure of what/where to even start.

I get this too... I think it's because every other damn game out there now is open world. When i was in my early teens i spent HOOOURS on Morrowind, now i get an urge to play it every few years, install it, run around the first town for 10 minutes, then i get bored and turn it off. I mean, a game like GTA pulls it off because the world is worth exploring, there's tons of stuff to see, but compare that to a game like far cry, just a ton of bushes and fancy trees, throw in a few animals to create the illusion of a living world, tell people "You can do whatever you want!!!!" But really, you have one goal and you get to choose what order you do your chores in to get there. I think this is why i'm really looking forward to Assassin's Creed this year, it looks like they've actually put effort into the story elements this time so you aren't just mindlessly ticking boxes on a checklist.

I was under the impression this was a demo of a upcoming game called Captain Spirit not Life is strange 2. I stopped playing the demo coz i liked it and rather wait for the complete game to come out.

I get the feeling what is to come in LiS2 will be drastically different from what is present in this game... Maybe Chris is just a supporting/fringe character/extra, and we'll never see this house again. But these two games are definitely connected in terms of story, so it's a prequel rather than a demo, I guess?

Life is strange as a series isn't linked season by season... its like Black Mirror or more accurately American Horror Story... Though besides voice work done by LiS vets you won't see the same characters on this or season 2...

Firstly, you don't have to play Life is Strange to play this. It's its own story and is a prequel to LIS 2. Second, I fully recommend playing the original LIS if you haven't already.
I wasn’t that big a fan of the original Life is Strange, though admittedly I didn’t make it past the first episode. Maybe it got better.
Though this stand alone story looks interesting. Not as hipster as what i saw in episode 1. I like the focus around a kid’s viewpoint. Plus its free, so i might as well try it.
Sailor Mercury it gets waaaaaay better after the first episode. Shit blows your mind by the time it's all said and done. It starts off very "normal" but is absolutely insane by the end. Before the storm is fantastic also.

Having enjoyed Vampyr, I was thinking about buying the Life Is Strange titles. This was such anvilicious, patronising and clumsy storytelling that it killed my interest in the franchise. Even my mother in the room was like '... really after lowest common denominator pathos aren't they'.
