Last year while visiting NYC, I was just walking randomly down Broadway in SOHO and walked right by Marlon delivering packages. I chuckled to myself thinking like this guy doesn't know he's the most famous UPS driver
I’d have approached him like a fan. It’s like he’s part of the family already.
This video hits differently after today's video how they are moving back to NYC. You can tell both truly love and belong there, and I appreciate the honesty how tough these decisions are when you have kids and family.

Casey is a great filmmaker. But it’s now clear to me why the success/continuity of his vlog was contingent upon NYC being home. His office was like home base - akin to the apartment in Seinfeld, the studio in iCarly, etc. There were consistent characters and settings - Marlon, Candace, Dollar Pizza, West Side Highway. Although he kept track of episodes linearly, there were definitely unstructured “seasons”, like getting ready to have a kid, starting Beme, selling Beme. Ultimately, what was equally as genius as starting the vlog was deciding to end it shortly after leaving NYC and not trying to replicate in LA.
i'm sure his vlogs would have been just as successful if he continued his vlogs in LA

I miss walking the streets of lower Manhattan a lot.. even though I get to go into the city a lot more often.. I completely understand how your lady feels.
That scene with Candice got real very quickly. The overwhelming confrontation of days past and what life was without kids. Yet you love them more than anything. The acceptance of age and growing up. Layers over layers. I cried too. Wonderful piece.

Casey! I lived in NYC from 2015-2019. Graduated from school in spring 2019, moved back home. My wife and I went back for the first time in 3 years, literally were there last week, and this video is just an exact mimic of the feelings we had coming back to NYC. It felt like we were back home. So glad you took the trip, it's an amazing feeling when you get back and can take it all in again!

It's interesting to me how much more willing Candice is to be on camera than she used to be. She allowed herself to be vulnerable on camera and show the world some moments that a lot of people would have insisted be cut from the video. I find her even more interesting after seeing this video.
Good thing she doesn't ever need another person's approval or validation to be her amazing self.
I mean, I thinkt the frequency back then was much to take for anyone. Once everyday or once every month is much better to take for anyone as well I think.

the things I'd do to bring back the daily vlog... I was back in highschool was the vlog was a thing and I would watch it every morning before school started and it gave me something to look forward to everyday. nothing like drinking some coffee and watching that days video to start the day off right.
I'm Italian and I'm always impressed by how much Casey loves New York. I mean, look at him, he's definitely a New Yorker, this city is part of his DNA. Since I was a child I've always thought that there's nothing in life that is as strong as the bond between Italy and an Italian citizen. But when I watched my first Casey video, I realized how this channel was a hymn to the city. It feels like the teacher you used to hate because he was hard with you. But then, after many problems, he leads you to the top and immediately becomes the best teacher you've ever had. He didn't teach you useless stuff, he taught you how to live and the bond you have with this person becomes unbreakable. New York is the same, it's been the hard teacher with Casey but now is the best teacher he ever had.
This man is NYC's biggest spokesman, and they don't even know it.

You have to be a person who really loves the amazing, and then it's really not that hard to put up with the shit. If you're not that person, then you shouldn't be here because otherwise all you'll do is talk shit about NYC. I've lived here for 31 years and am ready to move, but at the same time scared shitless about waking up somewhere else.
