Yeah, I was just going to post that "What You Want" is the hidden treasure on "Loveless". Love how MBV used the flute (samples) on that record, just some really warm and organic sounds amongst all the weird artifice. Did you use a VST for the flute too, Kenneth? :p
@@latontolog Yeah I love "What You Want" the most from their "Loveless" album. It always surprises me with it's melody and mood. And yeah I used this free flute plugin: vst4free.com/plugin/2312/
Wow, these VSTs sound great and I have some new (to me) songs/bands I need to check out! Are you familiar with Drop Nineteens? Their album Delaware is all time shoegaze classic.
So good to hear that. I actually wanted to play Winona by Drop Nineteens as well. But I didn't have that much time. But I think I will do a second video in that style. I love their Delawaye album. Do yo know their album Mayfield? ruclips.net/video/y77KwGTBUJ8/видео.html The quality is demo-ish - but the music is amazing!!!!
i know this is old but i really want to know which plug ins you used im really poor and i realised that pedals are fucking expensive lol but if i can pay 5, 10, 20 dollars for vst like this maybe theyll help me make the ideas of my head available for people
Which DAW dou you use? Often you have everything you need already. I recommend the free software NADIR, an impulse response loader, that imitates famouse amps and campinets. Put any distortion, chorus, pitch shifting, flanger ect.. plugin in front of it and it sounds like guitar. :D
I love and admire your consistency as a solo musician myself as well. How do you deal with white/ground noises when using VSTs? Because my laptop's panning interferes with the electromagnetic fields of my guitar pickups. I use a noise gate of Zoom ms50g to attenuate them, and it helps but not completely.
Thank you. I also hear a very subtile high frequency in the background evertime I use VST plugins with guitar but it does not disturb me while playing. It's still quite enough.
Is there Reverse Reverb in VST which sounds like MBV ? Still I use Digitech Polara as Reverse Reverb, but other effectors switched to VST Sorry for my poor English (I'm Japanese)
for reverse reverb like mbv you can use impulse reverberator with alesis midiverb 2 impulses, or you can use native instruments raum, or valhalla ubermod, or eventide blackhole, try to experiment with it!
Not a VST, but I bought the Loomer pedal from Keeley Electronics and it has exactly the reverse gated reverb you are looking for. My favourite pedal of all time.
Hey, have you seen the "Second Story Garage" version of Nowhere by Ringo Deathstarr? Elliot does some crazy Lee Ranaldo shredding at the end. It's hilarious!
No, I only use the free version. But I alresdy feel lile it's super powerful and allowed me to create this video in less than a week. So I think everyone should try it.
@@berlinshoegazer I've been weighing between msoundfactory and falcon 2 they both seem incredibly deep, like a photoshop of sound, but I think falcon will get the nod just because it has more information available about it
@@berlinshoegazer thank you for adding them Kenneth. Just tried out the Alison one and it sounds great! Btw I wish you'd look into a DM I sent you on instagram, but I know you'll probably have things to do and am busy already . :p

I really like the tones, but you don't show the settings or provide presets. Can you post them somewhere instead of having to buy all the VSTs and then guess the settings? I'd be more willing to buy some if I didn't think I'd have to buy them and then on top of that figure out the tones.
I think for all Kuassa products you can download them and demo them for free for as long as you like, you'll get a burst of noise every couple of minutes is the limitation. But that means that you can download the VSTs and make sure you can get the sound you want before you commit to spending any money on the product.
Ive been down the kuassa rabbithole trying to recreate the sound of Slowdive. Here is some of my conclusions. Christian uses a Fender Reverb amp. The equivalent is Kuassa Matchlock amp type 1. One lovely, clean tube amp, if you ask me. Neil and Rachel uses JC120. The alternative would be Vermilion amp, type 3. Not sure if Slowdive uses the built in chorus but the Ch3604 has a Ensemble mode imitating BBD chorus. (a bit tame if you ask me). JC120 also has stereo speakers 2x12. To Create a chorus, its applying a vibrato on the left channel and clean on the second. *breath in* For the overdrive(OD-2) I use the blues or Pro. TSE R47 VST for the RAT (if you know a kuassa plugin that emulates it let me know). *breath out*
