- I am in no way affiliated with AJT design. There was a fair amount of grumbling about this product to assemble and I wanted to see for myself how difficult it was. The stock fob is horrible.
I watched the video from AJT Designs and Quadratec and still could not get it done. So I decided to search RUclips for a regular Joe like me who has done this. I saw how you fenagled it with a screw driver and how it came together for you, and yeah, three tries after watching you and I did it. Thanks bud!
Awesome Leo. Glad it helped somebody out there. IMO it was worth the effort. I love this key fob over the factory case.
Brother... you saved my life tonight. Took me about 30 minutes before watching your video and then on the second attempt.
Thank you Dominic. I love this key fob. I would buy another in a heartbeat.
Yep, great product except for the battery install. Looks like poking it in with the screwdriver is a big help. Took me much longer.
I had to replace the battery about 6 months ago and had to refer to my own video on the topic lol. Nailed it first try. The battery tray design definitely leaves a lot to be desired.
I keep accidentally hitting the panic button on the stock key fob. Also the key blade keeps extending while the fob is in my pocket. This mod would do wonders for me.
I had both of those things happening myself. After 10 months I still give this fob case a 100%
@@PNW_Car_Mods Nice! Good to hear
That was awfully brave of you doing this install on camera without any prior practice.
I found a remote starter for my Panthers on Amazon for less than $60.
But after researching how to install it, the wiring is above my skill level.
Has Issac ever expressed interest in wanting remote start for the Vic?
Did Dexter get the squirell?
That's how we roll. Might not be the best way lol but it's as authentic as you can get. I don't have a producer or a director lol. Isaac is young enough all he knows before the Vic is key fobs and remote starts. Sounds like the SPD went full boat cheap ass on their cars with the bare minimums. Will have to look into some kind of aftermarket unit. The drivers door panel says it had a DEI remote start system installed but I'm not sure if it's been ripped out on the decommission or not. Dexter much like our last Corgi can't get to the squirrels quick enough. They are already up a tree and squawking
Great video, thanks!
I'm pretty sure I destroyed the transponder, is there a way to tell? Haha
Oh man that's not good Chris. Those things are expensive. Does it just not do anything or will it do everything but start the engine? If it does nothing the battery may just be out of place.
That's a cool key fob but where do you keep the key for the doors
If you take the hinge off of the key by punching out the roll pin you can put it in the new key fobs back compartment. Otherwise you can leave it secured at home, or you can secure it hidden on your Jeep somewhere. I have never seen a use for the metal key so far.
You are really pushing out the content... I see 1k subs in your near future. :)
I hear ya JOATs. I have so much stuff going on and it's fun and kind of exciting but yet I don't want to just upload dump everything at once.
MRBLACK947 having content is a good feeling. I’m testing out new stuff now hoping to attract more viewers but also hoping it doesn’t backfire.
I carry my my car keys on a carabiner hooked to my belt loop, it's easy to hook them, I know where they are and it leaves me an empty pocket for my phone.
I hear ya. I'd like to have a similar operation, but when you have 7 cars on property and most have a large key fob it's virtually impossible. You'd have a 20 pound clump of key crap to your side the size of a bowling ball lol.
Took me 3 hours to do two fobs. So not worth the money I spent on them plus shipping.
I bought mine off of Amazon and they were pretty cheap. I think I had about a half hour into one of them. I don't think I could ever go back to that factory brick thing that comes with them.
@@PNW_Car_Mods Agreed that OEM Jeep fob was also poorly designed. I don't mind the size of this AJT fob what I do mind is the complete lack of effort into designing the back to retain the battery.
If this had cost me $20CAD then I'd be less bothered but 2 fobs cost me $111CAD with shipping. I dread having to change the battery. I'll have to take the day off work.
Like someone else on here said that they would rather just sell the Jeep than replace the batteries.
This Adam guy doesn't reply to emails either.
I don't think that is the transponder, left fob in home and walked out with just that piece, Jeep would not start
Thanks for the info Shane. I never did research that any further and probably should.
Is that a Fob in your pocket ? Or are you just glad to see me ? Lol
I tell you what, the size of some of these key fobs these days if you put them in your front pocket it could improve your chances with the ladies if you know what I'm sayin!
