I actually never save while building anymore Idk if it's true but I've seen people say that saving anywhere outside of live mode can contribute to save file corruption and I have a 2 and a half year old save that ime working on so I don't wanna risk it even with backups. What I do instead is just save to my gallery and keep overriding it. That way if my game crashes, I can just place the lot again
@@Moss_piglet13 I've legit never had a file get glitched due to saving during build mode, and I've been playing since the game's official debut. So unless you're doing something very sketchy (pirating) or risky (unmoderated mods), or mayhaps your PC is trash or never cleaned-up (eg CCleaner)... you shouldn't think it's probable for yourself. But I do agree it's more reliable to save your file to the gallery as you go. If only because it's less likely to crash, in my experience
It cracks me up because even after I got get together I never used the closets, but then when I started following his account and I noticed that he put them in most all of his builds because it’s realistic I was like you’ve convinced me I should put a closet in rooms

U can make them longer if u place two. One below and it'll remove the rail part and make it look natural it's a base game feature and any pack feature but it also does the same with the things I forgot their name their also used as blocking ur windows

Yes! So it’s a bug! I’ve only played with one household since the update and one of my Sims specifically keeps yelling at his daughter and his spouse. It also wouldn’t let me adopt a child
Do they have the mean, evil or erratic traits and do they have difficult family dynamics if you have growing together? Cause the sims team says if this happens it’s intentional
@@f.airy.x no I tried everything. I made every Sim dislike mischief interactions and I even made everyone have a close dynamic. This one sim in particular just keeps being mean and doing mischief to other people
Omg, yes! I started building a huge residential lot on one of those right before 'For Rent' came out. But I stopped when I learned it wouldn't work. Thanks for pointing this part of the patch out; I might have never noticed it because I hate reading patch notes 😂😂😂
Finally someone said what I've always thought about Dream Home Decorator 😭😭 I feel like the furniture is sooooo bare looking and ugly, and I like the idea of modular furniture, but I don't think all the details that we needed are there, like some wall cabinets and shelves being empty, but not having any slots that you can put things on without cheats. I also feel like the furniture has no real theme or anything that ties it together, it's just the most basic and empty furniture we've ever had, and the only thing that links all the items together in this pack is that everything is white. There's no overall theme or style, like there is with the Desert Lux Kit or the Courtyard Kit, which have such a clear and cohesive style, all the items work so well together, and the items are all so much more detailed with a lot more character. I get that Dream Home Decorator was going for modern/minimalist style, but I feel like there's a difference between the bare minimum and minimalistic, and to me, this pack feels super bare bones and like nothing really goes together, or with any of the other items in the base game and other packs.
If you do end up speaking on the bugs that came with the new update, here are just some of the things I’ve been experiencing. My Sim keeps arguing with their daughter and spouse and their friendship meter keeps going very low. (No mean traits) It also wouldn’t let me adopt a child, and no matter how many times I restart my game it will not let me use the gallery.
I switched to sims 3 a month ago and I’m 90% happy with it. This update has me considering playing 4 again but I feel like I’m betraying my newly beloved sims 3 😭

Yep. The problem is mainly with Parenthood... apparently. But I can't go to create a Sim or even save the game. I tried to avoid trigger the bugs and just renovate houses and it went on forever. I had to forcefully close the game.
Me neither! And neither can anyone else lol Apparently UI is messed up if you have the parenting or growing together bc it affects toddlers to teens. Maple simmer talks about this. No fixes yet. EA says they will release another hot fix for this (also for unwanted mean interactions)
@@vikomat Mccc already updated to the new patch. Maybe the reason your UI messed up is because of some conflicting mods. I know mine was because of more cas column mod.
lol I wished my studio apartment was like this one when I was a uni student 😂 Not enough space for a double bed, a sofa and a low table AND 2 big closets xD ! I could just have a single bed serving as a sofa. My desk for study and tv on it too. One closet big enough for clothes and kitchen things,and all sorts of things. A small fridge, a simple table to eat with two simple chairs lol. I had the chance for the bathroom to a have a bathtub and not just a simple shower lol

Satch Penthouses are basically MANSIONS for city dwellers who like living in the center of the city. They are usually the top floor and have things like swimming pools and basketball courts because they are for like billionaires who want to live on top of everyone in a city. Like you should really take a look at some IRL multi-million dollar penthouses, they exist...especially in places like NYC and are insane sometimes. Especially because they are the on top of a high-rise building. That being said this update and ability to convert penthouses is cool. also not a secret, it was in the patch notes.

For the blue apartment you could have made two bathrooms. Making one of the rooms a master bedroom with a bathroom, a good amount of apartments do that
I think the gym flooring he was looking for is in the tile section because I have used it alot and I never could find it but then I finally did eventually, so if we're talking about the same flooring then it's just there
I may be wrong but the gym flooring that your talking about is called playground something. I usually find it by typing in playground in the search. 20:06

I work 40+ hours a week above minimum wage and I still can't afford anything bigger than a studio without sharing the rent with someone else (thankfully I live with my partner). Your opinion about living in a studio is completely valid, it's not the best experience. Hey Satch all my couples are being mean to each other for no reason since this last update. Apparently a few others have picked up on it. Seriously do not buy this new pack. EA are doing this on purpose
Is my game just blessed? It opened and I was able to play and save it fine. It did freeze and almost crash but I'm 90% sure it was just because my laptop overheated, I didn't get my laptop fan I usually use because I was just opening the game for a minute to check. Don't know if it's because of how I got the DLC's, not legitly if I can admit that, but it seems that most of the time when everyone's having game breaking issues I'm not unless my mods cause it. I can't say anything on the sims being mean to each other issue yet because the household I tested was just a teen and infant but it opened and three times saved with no error message before I closed the game.
Same in my case, probably the same source of DLCs, and everything works perfectly fine. I played for 5 hours and I admit, it crashed once, but I also had more stuff opened at the same time and it was when I was jumping between apps. And I have script mods on, some of them were not even updated. Maybe we found a way to get around those bugs 😂
Maybe, if that's the case I'm not complaining another bonus to how we get DLCs along with not having to pay an arm and a leg for them. I still have to check my mods post-update but I was in the process of checking them anyway because one was causing issues before the update so good timing.
@@chronicallyfunny811 I opened the game after 'obtaining' Lovestruck and my mods weren't turned off but everything was fine, idk in the long run because I was only in cas and for like 10 minutes in build mode, but nothing crashed or looked weird. I turned them off just in case and will turn them on when I'll update them, but they all seemed fine. So I think the mods didn't get that much broken, maybe you won't have that much to do
@@Noel.Chmielowiec Hopefully, I had a mod issue before the update probably a UI thing I missed because it was the spot where the moodlets line up that it was breaking. Didn't have the patience to fix it at the time so just cleared the mods absolutely essential for my main save in order to ensure they worked. I'm 'obtaining' Lovestruck now so I'll get them cleared, and actually sort them properly which will make it easier next time hopefully.
@@chronicallyfunny811 It's so annoying when you have a lot of mods and you have to check every single one of them to see which one is breaking this particular thing. Thank heavens for Sims 4 Mod Manager so I don't have to remove them one by one, I can just click one button and it's off. Took some time to have it nicely put in folders but at least it's easy to manage now so it was worth all the time spent. I don't know how I used to live before 😂
Oh man, I finished renovating myshuno in my save file! Now I gotta make some changes to create residential rentals... except I also capped my rental limit in the save. Satchie! Why you do this to me!!!!???
The game is absolutely busted- at the moment it's mainly the UI, the save buttons and Sims cancelling interactions constantly to go and be mean to each other instead. Save being broken is the worst, so be careful of any important gameplay!
For Rent should've been a City Living refresh. I'll never be convinced that some greedy executive at EA didn't make them turn the ideas for refreshes into standalone packs.
not a controversial dream home decorator opinion at all because i feel the same way! there's only a handful of build items from the pack that i absolutely love. But i hate that everything looks like something you'd find in a millennial grey "flipped" home. Where the person stripped a beautiful home of all it's character and put up ikea cabinets and counter tops lolol

It's the "style" right now. White, beige, plain af. That's a style that people want right now so they put it into the game.

For the blue apartment you could have made two bathrooms. Making one of the rooms a master bedroom with a bathroom, a good amount of apartments do that

I think the gym flooring he was looking for is in the tile section because I have used it alot and I never could find it but then I finally did eventually, so if we're talking about the same flooring then it's just there
It's actually a rug so it's in the decorations tab, if it's the black floor that I'm thinking it is.

I may be wrong but the gym flooring that your talking about is called playground something. I usually find it by typing in playground in the search. 20:06

Hey Satch all my couples are being mean to each other for no reason since this last update. Apparently a few others have picked up on it. Seriously do not buy this new pack. EA are doing this on purpose

Is my game just blessed? It opened and I was able to play and save it fine. It did freeze and almost crash but I'm 90% sure it was just because my laptop overheated, I didn't get my laptop fan I usually use because I was just opening the game for a minute to check. Don't know if it's because of how I got the DLC's, not legitly if I can admit that, but it seems that most of the time when everyone's having game breaking issues I'm not unless my mods cause it. I can't say anything on the sims being mean to each other issue yet because the household I tested was just a teen and infant but it opened and three times saved with no error message before I closed the game.
Same in my case, probably the same source of DLCs, and everything works perfectly fine. I played for 5 hours and I admit, it crashed once, but I also had more stuff opened at the same time and it was when I was jumping between apps. And I have script mods on, some of them were not even updated. Maybe we found a way to get around those bugs 😂
Maybe, if that's the case I'm not complaining another bonus to how we get DLCs along with not having to pay an arm and a leg for them. I still have to check my mods post-update but I was in the process of checking them anyway because one was causing issues before the update so good timing.
@@chronicallyfunny811 I opened the game after 'obtaining' Lovestruck and my mods weren't turned off but everything was fine, idk in the long run because I was only in cas and for like 10 minutes in build mode, but nothing crashed or looked weird. I turned them off just in case and will turn them on when I'll update them, but they all seemed fine. So I think the mods didn't get that much broken, maybe you won't have that much to do
@@Noel.Chmielowiec Hopefully, I had a mod issue before the update probably a UI thing I missed because it was the spot where the moodlets line up that it was breaking. Didn't have the patience to fix it at the time so just cleared the mods absolutely essential for my main save in order to ensure they worked. I'm 'obtaining' Lovestruck now so I'll get them cleared, and actually sort them properly which will make it easier next time hopefully.
@@chronicallyfunny811 It's so annoying when you have a lot of mods and you have to check every single one of them to see which one is breaking this particular thing. Thank heavens for Sims 4 Mod Manager so I don't have to remove them one by one, I can just click one button and it's off. Took some time to have it nicely put in folders but at least it's easy to manage now so it was worth all the time spent. I don't know how I used to live before 😂

Yep, completely broken. This is the worst I experienced.
The game is absolutely busted- at the moment it's mainly the UI, the save buttons and Sims cancelling interactions constantly to go and be mean to each other instead. Save being broken is the worst, so be careful of any important gameplay!
For Rent should've been a City Living refresh. I'll never be convinced that some greedy executive at EA didn't make them turn the ideas for refreshes into standalone packs.

But i hate that everything looks like something you'd find in a millennial grey "flipped" home. Where the person stripped a beautiful home of all it's character and put up ikea cabinets and counter tops lolol
