    I have been apinning qrenches over 29 years now and im a toyota fanatic, 20r,22r,22re have been some of the most stuck hb bolts i have ever come across. I own a 3/4" proto impact from one in particular that fought me

  • @Toyotajunkie
    @Toyotajunkie Год назад +4

    Loosing a lot of torque with all that extension on the impact, just in case you didn't know.
    I prefer having a corded impact for those and the crappy chrysler strut bolts. Never have problems with them anymore. But I still have my 36" long 1" breaker and 4.5' of pipe. Lol

    Tap it with a small (non )dead blow ball-peen hammer just enough to ring the bolt sometimes it helps unfreeze the bolt but best option would be oxy and acetylene torch but just heat it don't get to crazy!! You don't wanna take the temp. Out of the crank!! But everyone has there own method !!

    It's all about the ol bump starter method. Put the breaker bar on the bolt and set the handle on the frame. Hop in the car and tap the starter. Pops the bolt loose every time.... that is until your break the bar anyway.

      That has worked for me in the past: ruclips.net/video/GCE3P8AD2rI/видео.html but this motor had no starter or wiring, it was just an old parts truck

      @keithcavallino2887 Год назад

      I tried the starter trick on mine and it laughed at me. I had to heat the bolt up

      Works great unless you have an engine that rotates counter clockwise.

    Toyota is known to be this tight on the crank pulley. Seen to many toyota's gust like the one's in this video.

    Save the drama and cut the collar on the bolt and bolt loosens very easy. I wish I can add my photo to demonstrate on my 22re

    i love that the car is basically just a skelton and with only the heart (engine) and it was still fighting you like a sonofabitch 😂😂

    Heat, penetrant and impact/vibration.
    Good job with the rigging though.

    No need for any of that or any of the others mentioned in comments. All you need is a 2.5lb 19mm impact socket.

    Nice dual row timing chain. You get yours from 22re performance?

    • @carloscastro9154
      @carloscastro9154 Год назад +2

      20r’s come with dual row timing chains

    • @6thGearGarage
      @6thGearGarage  Год назад +2

      Yep, stock on 20R as well as early 22r engines. I believe 83 22R was the first year of the single row chain.

    I had to get mine off of the torch

    • @markramirez4830
      @markramirez4830 Год назад

      The problem is it seized within the threads. No matter what turkey you put on there is not going to come off. It'll twist and off. I had to cut mine off with the torch and then you have to get the inner part of the threads then it'll come out
