@@6thGearGarage good project, I have seen the entire process since you started. I would like to know where to buy and what brand of Spray paints you use, especially the white color.
@@84yota For the white engine bay I use ERA Paint 2k engine paint. It's expensive but well worth it. I used their 2k clear on top of it. I also used ERA Paints 2k engine on the blue block. That's starting to look really cool. If there is stuff that is rubbing or is in the way of other stuff now would be a good time to reroute it making it easier to get at it when you to fix or repair or replace something
I will get around to painting it one day, but first I want to complete my next project, 1985 4Runner. For now I'm going to drive it around like this until I get tired of the "old beat up truck" look.
Ive fixed the shifter seats when the small pegs, on each side, get broken or loose...Just took a hardened bolt just bigger then the peg and shaved the end like the pegs, left enough thread and tapped the holes bigger and screwed in the new bolt...Thats on the G and R151F trans...not sure what you have
I have the W50 and those pins were ok, but all the seals dust covers and gaskets were done. I found most of the parts... probably restore the shifter in the next video :)
@@jpicard81 I'd start with the relay. It's under the dash, a few inches left of the column. I don't know about 1990, but on the 80's trucks the turn signals work through the hazard switch. If the switch is unplugged, then there is no turn signal. Since your hazard doesn't flash, I wonder if that's the problem? Most likely relay though.
Hey I have never worked on anything older than a 20R, but I read once that the older motors use the same bell housing pattern as the 20R/22R. As far as the correct clutch/flywheel combo, I am unsure. I have a W55 trans and can get a picture of the bell housing if you'd like, lmk.
The master bolts to the booster, but they don't share any kind of vacuum. The vacuum is self contained in the booster. The booster has a rubber diaphragm inside that uses engine vacuum to make it easier to press the brakes.
Yeah I agree. I did a shave and tuck on my old civic and it looked great, but also took a lot of time. As I was putting all that stuff back into the white engine bay... I was thinking the same thing as you are.
Hey, just wanted to say I've used a couple of your older videos to build my 86 4Runner(dash disassembly vid helped a ton) and I also wanted to ask if you know of any places that would sell a brown center console(the one that has a rear heater.) I've tried eBay but nothing in the color I need.
Yeah, I had no choice but to put them back on the correct side when I found out that I'd never be able to unbolt them to bleed them. Bashing in the edge of the control arm wasn't as bad as I thought :)
Great job! What I hoped you would do better was not painting that blue on the floor, on top of some rust that was there… I mean, you had all the tools to remove it.
Most of that dark stuff was left over from the sound deadening. There was one tiny spot I saw, but all the major rust was already cut out and replaced.
