A seasalt spray for example is a pre styler, you can use it BEFORE you blow dry your hair. It gives your hair more volume and more texture. A post styler could be a wax or a gel. You can put it in your hair AFTER your hair is dry. Blow drying your hair is the best baseline, from there products could hold better and longer.
