Matt, as always excellent review. Yes, from the 'spy shots' many months ago it was obvious the new Mini Countryman was going to be something else. [I know two friends who have ordered already!] And as i have made it obvious the new Mini is astonishing! Cannot wait for your review of the Mini. The interior is superb! So minimalist and different. Yes, Mini have another winner on their hands. A real 'lifestyle', everyday, family 'mini' SUV. Different and clever. And yes, grown up with a smile. Thanks Matt. [Bring on the Mini!]
I agree with you Matt, the new design language reallly brings all the new MINI's bang up-to-date yet cleverly nodding to their 1959 origins. I have a Cooper SE on order. The lack of information since press launch has been frustrating, not to mention the timing of road reviews which I believe will be out more or less the same time as the car. Great review. Can't wait for your other new MINI reviews...
Love the look of this, except for moving climate control to a screen! Why do manufacturers keep doing this? It’s so much more difficult to operate when driving and honestly feels less safe.
Is it better than bmw x1? Does it feel like bmw x1, I heard both uses same platform and clubman upgrade was canceled because they couldn't bring clubman design language to this platform...
I've driven both in the 2.0 litre 218bhp engine and the MINI is better for throwing the car around. The X1 tries to be more refined and hence loses it's purpose I feel.
I'm old fashioned and don't like the minimalist interior look at all. The first new Mini Cooper had one of my favorite dashboards but this is boring. I like buttons. You have to take your eyes off the road to navigate the screen. Buttons you can do by feel. I wish they would bring back wood dashes like you had in the classic Mini. I don't understand why the natural beauty of wood has fallen out of favor today. Everything is ruled by cost and not beautiful design.
What are your thoughts on the new MINI Countryman? Let us know in the comments.
Would have been great if you could've let us see the boot and the back seat. Other than that, an overall good review
Seen one at the mini centre at Cowley Oxford plant.. very impressive, it's on the wish list.

It looks stunning, I have a test drive arranged for Monday. I like it far better than the old version.
Brilliant! Hope you enjoy it 😁
How was the test drive?
love this car look!
I enjoyed watching the Video Review, A great looking SUV with great features 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
From the back it looks like the new range Rover in a mini version
First review I’ve seen of this mini other than the JCW which is too over the top for me. This seems like a more relaxed driving experience.
It’s a very relaxed driving experience.
I really like the new design, although i do think it's a bit mean of mini not to include a HUD as standard, given the lack of instrument cluster.

A bit angular for my tastes. I prefer the previous one's outside.
