I'm planning to make more tracks and possibly make an album if my other tracks get as much love as this one, depending on how much crazy stuff happens in this campaign along with the ideas I already have in store
Hey hey guys!
So I'm officially in a new Dungeons and Dragons game as a tiefling bard, Danarei Milos, and that means I now have reason and purpose to make ridiculous songs about her adventures. I've started with her epic as a Folk Hero of how she managed to survive being eaten by a giant fish (I had rolled for her background and just... it seemed almost too perfect for this sassy gremlin tiefling child)

Lyrics:
Beware his maw, King of the Undertow
One who takes the strongest below
Tale of one who creates the thunder
One who took me under too
I'll tell you the story from many years ago
Before we had taken this town for our own
A fearsome monster of the ocean was lurking
Upon the shores of our home
Our crewmen would leave and they'd seldom return
And those who did told of the beast who incurred
The wrath of the gods who lived beneath the sea
The one they only called the King
No one from that city would come to our aid
As our children would suffer day after day
Our supplies would soon drain, only there for their gain
Lack of supply made for a great pay!
No longer could we wait for someone to arrive
We decided that we could no longer stand by
With the strongest of us taking the boldest of us
We'd finally take down the King!
Boom Crash! Went the raging storm
Boom Crash! As we faced down our foe,
Boom Crash! Went the tail of the beast,
But we are not easy to beat!
Boom Crash! As the battle wore on,
Boom Crash! Our men remained so strong!
Boom Crash! But as we thought we'd won,
The b-stard he breached and took one of us down.
It was darker than night, in the maw of the beast
All I could taste was my blood and the sea
But even as I knew the end was approaching
I knew he was waiting for me
You want to know what I did?
You want to know what I did?
I'll tell you what I did,
I screamed louder than lightning burned the king inside out!
Player: I want to play a song
DM: ok roll for performance
DM: what did you get
Player: a 50
Digital Gamer would you believe me if I said that I’ve seen this happen before but more? Proficiency bonus (+6), race bonus(can’t remember the number) background add on’s, bardic inspiration(got a 12 on the roll)
Now, this is only a 23ish but it doesn’t end, because this does not add the nat 20 that was rolled at the very beginning, and because of how we play when you get a nat 20 you can roll another, and another, all till it ends. BUT!!! The man feckin rolled 3 nat 20’s in a row then a 19 making it a 79, now if we add the 23 to that we get a total of 102 (now I don’t remember everything about his guy but I do know this to be true)
I’ve never seen the DM in shock so much before this moment, this went down in history for ages with me and some old friends. Should mention that we were *VERY* new to D&D so we made up some rules as we went, this being one.
Now you wanna know what it was for?
A. Fucking. Perception check. All to find the final boss which sure he was invisible but it was a DC 18 which he passed with just his race and bardic inspiration alone but we didn’t know that. As such he not only found the boss but now in campaigns he is just given a magic item that we made cause we couldn’t find anything about it known as the “All seeing eye” which when worn only by him, let’s him see everything that is hiding, in any way, spell or not. “He will find you, and we will kill you” has become the saying with the group ever since.

I really love how you managed to make such a damn good song with nothing but vocals, clapping and drums for percussion, and an accordion, because it's a song that someone is singing in a bar, you aren't going to have a full band of instruments.
it's a perfect bar son when you get the crowd with you.

I feel like it was more likely hellish rebuke knowing tieflings and “burned him inside out”, but shatter makes sense too.
The Teifling stood on the table as the audience in the bar applauded her. A part of her hadn't expected to get this much attention. _I guess that's what happens when people aren't too drunk or busy with themselves to listen,_ she thought. She climbed off the table, her nerves set on full drive as her body physically shaked. She tried to keep her anxiety low as she was soon greeted by three hats full of coin. Caught off guard, She dazely took them and smiled in thanks. As she took her seat again, she set down her accordion and started to count the money. She could tell the eyes of the crowd were on her. Many people wanted to ask her questions, but she fully knew that she didn't want to answer any of them. When she was done counting, she picked up her trusty instrument, put the money in her bag, and left the bar.
She found herself heading towards the beach. No idea why, but it wasn't the first time. She sat on a rock and gazed out over the water. The Moon cast a light on the water, and with the stars, it was beautiful. You'd never believe that a monster lay in those waters. She knew some people in the bar didn't believe it, and for that she took they weren't there when the King raged the sea. She didn't blame them. She wouldn't have believed it either in their shoes, but she knew. She knew that if you went the right distance over the water, swam down enough, You'd find all the ships discarded and broken by the King.
She remembered being a little girl in the town as she first heard of the beast. Sailors were being tended by their families and friends as they cried and mumbled of the King. She remembered them being covered in cuts and scratches, one man having his arm missing. She listened through their non-sensual tellings of how the King had taken their ship, their friends, eventually their sanity further down the line. Her hand moved to her forehead as she thought, rubbing a scar she had gotten from her first and final encounter with the horrible creature. He had been more terrifying than in description. She couldn't even remember how they had fought him off for so long before she had been swallowed and delivered the final blow from within his gut. All she remembered was thunder and lightning, screams from the others aiding her in the fight, and the King himself. She shuddered at the thought, her tail swishing on the rock.
She listened the waves lapping at the shore, the night creatures call out from the forest behind her. She rested her head onto the rock and closed her eyes. As sleep encased her, she heard a huge wave crash down, her last consious thought being of how it sounded of the King rising from the water, only if you had been miles upon miles away.

I can imagine their party in a busy tavern surrounded by rowdy patrons, drinking together after another day of adventuring. Danarei looks around, seeing some people look bored, then wordlessly says to her allies that she wants to play for them. They nod to her smiling, then she reaches into her pack and pulls out her accordion. As she plays the first few measures of her song, the noise of the tavern starts to die down as multiple heads turn to watch. Her party starts providing background beats (hand clapping, foot stomping, table banging, etc.) as she leaps onto the table and starts to sing and dance for the now-entranced patrons

Such powerful lyrics. Puts you right there in the story. 10/10 Theater of the Mind.
Dimitri, a half-elven rogue that had forsaken his adventuring party to go and scout out the local tavern entered to see the visage of a red-skinned devil standing atop one of the tables with a peculiar instrument in her hands. The people who had surrounded who he had reasoned to be a her, seemed happy, infatuated, even. It certainly peaked his interest... however easy it was to. Though the cursed thought of having to return to the party pierced through the veil, and he had no choice but to consider his options.
"Hmm... they'll be fine.." he uttered to himself after what was about... three seconds of thought and the checking of an invisible watch. He was going to find out more of this tiefling and her band of travelers, though it proved difficult; as he tried to get closer, a gathering crowd cut off his path, and the sound of a boot tapping against the sturdy, but slowly rotting wood of the table the she-devil stood upon put his advances to rest.
Tap. Tap. Tap. Tap... tap-tap-tap...
It grew faster, and louder as if it were influenced by some spell, the crowd beginning to grow more quiet with each tap, a steadily rising, rhythmic clap coming from the masses as it slowly became apparent to the thief that this was no coincidence, this was a beat, a call to action.
Then, she began to sing, and the ever-progressing train running on pure curiosity within Dimitri's mind halted. The energy she began to gather from the people, and himself, made him feel strangely comfortable, yet the realization that it was taking place had set it off... so an effect akin to your first kiss, butterfly-like in his stomach as he watched the shimmering red mystique begin her dance, the expert fingers she bore hitting every key on her strange music-maker, and her voice echoing throughout despite the woo's and hollering of the roused peoples. In a word; it was exhilarating. His body twitched, but he refused to leave the fortress he had created by crossing his arms, a stance that stood as sturdy as any well-made mansions or castle. A smirk pulled at the corner of his lip, and there had been no fighting that. His right foot suddenly beginning to tap alongside the hardy, ever-moving tune against his wavering will as it penetrated the defenses at the base. Had she been magically manipulating him and these people? He could have sworn they were, yet every bone and instinct in his body pointed toward one possibility...
She was simply incredible.

Awesome work, dude. At least 11 out of 6.

This has gotten stuck in my head to the point that I heard it in my dream last night. Well done!
Two adventurers are on a boat sailing for a port town and they approach an older male sailor who had had a scar across his left cheek and was missing one arm and had it replaced with an artificial limb in the form of a rusty Gauntlet from an old suit of armor and a glass eye looking out at the sea with a scowl that could make the meanest orc cower in fear but he appeared to be looking for something
Male Adventurer: Sir?
Old Sailor: Yes?
Male Adventurer: Are you okay?
Old Sailor: Fine. Just keeping watch.
Female Adventurer: For what?
Old Sailor: The King...
Male Adventurer: What?
Old Sailor: He's a beast that lurked these waters. He just appeared one day, we didn't know from where, or what he was. People say he was the wrath of the gods themselves who were enraged by us for taking advantage of their kindness and taking every resource on this world for granted, others said he was of an ancient race that existed long before our race, or any race for that matter, walked the face of the Earth. But nowadays most people say he's dead, but I believe he's still out there. Waiting...
Male Adventurer: How bad was it?
Old Sailor: Bad... When you entered these waters The King knew you were in his domain and in a matter of minutes he would find you, and in a matter of minutes, he'd crush, and pull you down into a watery grave. Didn't matter what was on it, who it was, or what was protecting it he could snap ships apart like a bunch of twigs. And you'd always be able to tell when death was coming, when you see a fog heading toward your ship that's a sign of him. And when the fog engulfs your ship they say you'd have to take yourself out for mercy only after you pray to the Gods old and new to have a chance at saving yourself, for The King didn't just eat you. He would eat your very soul... He'd use his eight powerful limbs to attack ships and on these limbs were these... THINGS on them that made a rigid surface and could tear a man's face clean off, and his maw, it's like your nightmares come to life. Thousands upon thousands upon THOUSANDS of rows of teeth that are stronger than the mightest fortifications ever built, and strong enough to bite them out the ground. His breath... All you can smell are the bodies of those he's eaten. And when he's upon you, all you hear, the very last thing you hear is his bellowing growl not a roar. His growl, some say it was sign of those he killed screaming out in agony, I wasn't tempted to believe them before I met the beast in person but after I did... Well let's just say I'm lucky he didn't take either of my legs.
Male Adventurer: So how did they do it?
Old Sailor: Huh?
Female Adventurer: How did they kill him?
Old Sailor: I wasn't there meself. But there's a Bard at the local tavern in the town, she sings the story of what happened there considering she was the one who killed him, you'll get the story. Personally, I think the sailors who were there had the luck of every God there was and there will be on their side.
Male Adventurer: Well thank you.
Old Sailor: Your welcome.
*the ship docks*
Old Sailor: Well... I best be going, gotta help the crew unload the cargo. Gods be with you.
Male Adventurer: And you as well.
The two get off the boat and start heading for the nearest store
Female Adventurer: Well I know what we're doing when we get to the town!

First off: welcome to the tables :) secondly: this song is easily described in one word: perfect. Also i love it when people who can actually sing play bards.
Sir Fishalot I have news, there’s some of us who play bard who sing and play multiple instruments
Wouldn't call it perfect, but definitely a step in the right direction.
@@DirtyDerg QUIET HERETIC! Ofc its not perfect *nothing really is as perfection is subjective and thus unable to be accomplished* but its pretty damn good.
@@sirfishalot6782 I'll never understand this mentality of "Heap tons of praise without really being insightful as to what she did right." Some of the lyrics are really mediocre on a person's voice fit for pub karaoke.
*Now as is the advice that's given is subjective, but I don't think this would hurt her performance.*
I think if she had practice training her vocals and having someone that writes songs professionally to help her that it would sound a lot better.
@@DirtyDerg and i shall never understand why you attempt to be a pseudo-professional judge and think that i would change my view based on your nagging. I am praising the song because i geniuenly enjoyed it, and if you didnt, thats fine but dont bother me with your criticism. And just to satisfy your passionate longing for precise praising of what has been done right: the feeling. The song is authentic and, though it might not be perfectly written or structured, it fits the setting of a tavern filled with more or less drunk peasants and a happy upstarting bard performing a semi-professional tale. The song reaches me emotionally, by wich i declare it to be a good song from my point of view, as a song that does not reach ots listeners is a pointless song. So there you go.
I can't place why, but this song just hits me. You did such amazing job on this piece. The music, the production, the lyrics, the vocals, all superb. The intensity in the vocals especially. I would pay money to see this performed either life or recorded in studio. Especially with ending segment, those notes are so powerful.
Absolutely amazing performance, Cami. I wish I had discovered your work sooner. Such a talent.
