This role was MADE for Christopher Lloyd. No disrespect to Rutger Hauer or Leonard Nimoy. But Master Xehanort is PERFECT for Lloyd just because he has that cadence and gravitas to his voice. Plus, he has such an iconic and charismatic presence.

Christopher Lloyd is the perfect choice for Master Xehanort after Leonard Nimoy.He portrayed a pure evil character like Judge Doom who was creepy,manipulative and elegant just like Xehanort himself.

And it seems like whenever Disney gets him to do a villain, there's usually a classic character or two involved. And wouldn't you know it. He voiced a villain who went up against Scrooge McDuck, now it's Donald's turn to face him.
Man, this is quite disrespectful to the late Rutger Hauer. I admit that Christopher Lloyd did a fantastic job as Master Xehanort, all of his scenes I found entertaining. But regardless of his performance, Rutger stepped in to succeed Leanord and did his best, although he couldn't portray the same feeling that Leanord gave to Xehanort, he played his part to help bring the series to its finale.

Wow Christopher Lloyd crushes it as Xehanort here. No offense to Rutger Hauer (RIP) a terrific actor in his own right, but I enjoyed Lloyd’s performance far more. Hauer put in a solid effort and his performance worked in some ways but his Xehanort sounded slightly too young as opposed to Nimoy and then Lloyd. Plus I get a sense that he didn’t sound quite as sinister, quite as evil. But man does Lloyd capture the sinister quality (even in his laughter) of the character like the late and peerless Leonard Nimoy did.
After Nimoy passed I was telling my friends for months before KH3 was released that Christopher Lloyd would be a great replacement as Master X. When Re:Mind came out, the news that he'd actually been cast didn't reach my ears until I actually played it and HEARD his voice. You can imagine how stunned I was, I had to pause the game!
There was an article talking about Disney world possibilities listing Who Framed Roger Rabbit based solely on the notion of Christopher Lloyd being a Kingdom Hearts villain. Well...He didn't reprise his role as Judge Doom but here he is. Also, something I realized. The Donald Duck game "Goin' Quackers" had Merlock from the Ducktales movie as a main antagonist. Now we see Donald facing against a villain voiced by Merlock's original actor.
It's moments like 2:17 that I really can't take him seriously. He comes close, but I do prefer Hauer for most of these lines. The old "if you survive that long" used to give me chills before.
I dunno, I think Lloyd's delivery is good as well. As if he's finding humour out of the idea that two children can defeat him. Hauer's take was a bit more chilling but the accent made it a bit hard to hear at times
Hauer is good for the sedate moments. The problem is that that's only like, what...30% of the time at best. Xehanort is absolute ham most of the time, which Hauer unfortunately fails to achieve. It's not even like Ansem and Xemnas who are OOZING with ham even at their most sedate. In the case of Ansem, that applies to both Billy Zane and Richard Epcar. For Master Xehanort to sound so sedate and calm sounds...wrong and OOC, which I think is the problem.

The only thing stopping me from enjoying his take on Xehanort is knowing he played Hacker from CyberChase. It's almost impossible for me to get the green guy out of my head.
To me, Leonard Nimoy was the best Xehanort. But, Christopher Lloyd does a far better job the Rutger Hauer. He doesn't sound as energetic or raspy as Nimoy, but he definitely has the raspy voice down.
He has something Rutger Hauer sadly failed to deliver: a natural bombast in his voice, even when he's not hamming it up. Between Chikao Ohtsuka, Akio Ohtsuka, and Leonard Nimoy, even speaking normally, you know the guy sounded over-the-top. Mr. Hauer, even when required to ham it up, just did not deliver, but ol Judge Doom did.

Just as an inside joke, Square Enix needs to include Atlantis: The Lost Empire in a future game, then we'll have both Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox in Kingdom Hearts.
I think Christopher Lloyd is better as Xehanort than Rutger Hauer, but Leonard Nimoy was the OP. No disrespect to Hauer, but the Dutch accent is inconsistent with the American accent the other forms of Xehanort have.
Ok, I'll be honest. At first when I heard Xehanort's new voice, I was taken aback. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad. But after hearing the first replacement after Leonard Nimoy's voice a lot, it will just take a bit to get used to.

To me, Leonard Nimoy was the best Xehanort. But, Christopher Lloyd does a far better job the Rutger Hauer. He doesn't sound as energetic or raspy as Nimoy, but he definitely has the raspy voice down.
He has something Rutger Hauer sadly failed to deliver: a natural bombast in his voice, even when he's not hamming it up. Between Chikao Ohtsuka, Akio Ohtsuka, and Leonard Nimoy, even speaking normally, you know the guy sounded over-the-top. Mr. Hauer, even when required to ham it up, just did not deliver, but ol Judge Doom did.
Agreed. Rutger Hauer was better than what he gets credit for but Lloyd’s performance, albeit brief, was superior

Just as an inside joke, Square Enix needs to include Atlantis: The Lost Empire in a future game, then we'll have both Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox in Kingdom Hearts.

I think Christopher Lloyd is better as Xehanort than Rutger Hauer, but Leonard Nimoy was the OP. No disrespect to Hauer, but the Dutch accent is inconsistent with the American accent the other forms of Xehanort have.
Christopher Lloyd killed it as Xehanort. While I prefer Leonard Nimoy's voice (may he rest in piece) I think Christopher was a fantastic choice

Ok, I'll be honest. At first when I heard Xehanort's new voice, I was taken aback. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad. But after hearing the first replacement after Leonard Nimoy's voice a lot, it will just take a bit to get used to.
