- Next up for F1 is the British Grand Prix and the final race of the triple-header, but who will take the top step on the podium at Silverstone? Will Max Verstappen extend his world championship lead? Or could Lando Norris, Lewis Hamilton or George Russell give the home fans something to celebrate? In this week’s preview, I take a look at all the usual track stats, talk tyres and make some predictions. Plus, the fallout from THAT crash, FP1 driver changes and Aston Martin’s Cowell coup.

Might as well drive it in the race too. Probably be more exciting than watching Perez.

It's forecast
Andy Cowell worked for Cosworth F1 engines (race winner 1999) with Stewart GP, before moving to Williams-BMW (race winner 2000) and then to McLaren (2004 multi-race winning) to design Ilmor (Mercedes) engines with Mario Illen before transferring to the new Mercedes F1 engine programs (2008 - 2020) for McLaren and Mercedes F1. The Adrian Newey of engines, if anyone can integrate Honda’s project with Aston he’s the guy.
I think he might have designed that Cosworth that was badged as FORD in the back of Fisi’s Jordon that won the 2003 Brazilian GP on count-back too, but I wasn’t really sure 😹

The Norris / Verstappen issue from Austria was very well and conclusively explained by Anthony Davidson on Sky Sports after the race last Sunday. He took a very broad approach which I do feel covers the incident extensively and the outcome, he says, is fair and correct and within the spirit of the sport. Unlike most, he analysed the incident from the pitstop that cost MV loads of time and left MV with LN on his tail almost immediately. Lets hope this weekend provides us with another banger race and not a high tech carroussel as we have been subjected to of late.

Lando and Max will get shirty and take each other out again. Merc will be a lot, lot quicker than people are betting on.
Just want to say here that Max is the definition of greatness. He is superb, a king, a Sungod. Flawless in all his moves with perfect positioning. Gentle for his tires but ruthless for the competition. No one can touch him. All should bow deep for his excellence.

Max and Lando are at the top of F1 just now and when they "engage", it is with incredible skill and ultra-precise timing. I don't think any other pair of drivers could have done what those two did for so many laps. We watched some of the best racing (and yes, some questionable moves) that will define the 2024 season!

I'm gonna say it. George Russell is doing the F1 equivalent of the little engine, that could.
Would it be cool to see an all British Podium. But won't happen.
My bold prediction: Lando Norris gets DOTD.
SkySports are becoming rather annoying with the lando/max questions. They really need to get F over it. The drivers already did
Our prediction: As the RB team was robbed of an easy win, in Austria, we predict that the RB team has a point to prove.

Given your bold predictions of Albon, Alonso and Sauber points from the race, that means you think at least one of the Mercs, Ferraris, Red Bulls or McClarens won't finish in the points. Who's that going to be? My bet either Perez or a Ferrari strategy.

loving the Williams livery, the Red Bull livery ain't too shabby either. kinda reminds me of the black blue and white testing livery they had in 2018
I think I'd take that stupid carbon patch around the Ceva logo from last year over the HP logo. It's still bad but it's a different kind of bad.
