- In this video, we test out a brand new air up/down system by QuikFlate. This system will allow you to air up and down 4 tires at the same time, and it will also equalize the pressure between the 4.

Nice Video. Just FYI, 3/8" hose is not faster than 1/4" hose, because your bottleneck of air systems isn't the hose. It is your valve stems. With the valve core in place, tire valve stems can only accept about 2-2.5CFM of airflow at 0 psi (they are roughly a 1/16" orifice). With 4 tires at a time, that means the max air flow that the system can accept is about 8-9CFM. A 1/4" hose can do 21CFM at 0 psi (about double what the bottleneck of your valve stems is). So upping the hose to 3/8" (35-40CFM) doesn't really allow more air flow into or out of your tires unless you are running bigger valve stems like monster valves. All you are doing is making the hose bulkier and harder to handle, and more likely to continue spilling out of your bag ;)
Hey Tyler, Nice explanation. I have a question, I'm planning to install monster valves on my KMC's, and I'm doing some revision about these inflate/deflate systems.
Which system do you recommend for better performance with an ARB dual Compressor? MORRflate(morrflate.com), SpeedFlate( www.Speedflate.com) or this one of quickflate(www.runnin4tacos.com/products/quickflate-tire-inflator-deflator)
@@miguilarte Hey Miguel! Good question... The Twin ARB is setup to do 150psi. Speedflate is only good up to 100psi. So I don't recommend using them with a Twin ARB unless you want to deal with ruptured hoses. Quickflate has a solid design, but their main issue is the 3/8" hose. With a Twin ARB (6.2CFM tops) for airing up, and monster valves to air down, having 3/8" hose is a waste... you end up with a heavier, bulkier system for no added benefit since a 1/4" hose is more than enough for 6.2CFM. MORRFlate is good beyond 150 psi, and uses a more user friendly hose.
@@tyler822 I appreciate your prompt response, Thanks!! you confirmed what I thought.
I think 1/4" air hose will do just fine also.
I was about to comment this same comment then saw you posted it Nice work @Tyler
Yeah... I stopped listening once he claimed 3/8” is larger then 1/2”
That and if you do the math, 1/4in line is more then enough esp if your doing 4 tires at once, as the cfm of a normal schrader valve is not much at all..
I caught that too, was about to comment til I seen your comment 🤣
*This does exactly what I was wanting **MyBest.Tools** Price was fantastic, lower than Harbor Freight-and it included hose and attachments, and IT IS MADE IN AMERICA, unlike Harbor Freight*
You can use the quad as a dual also just only hook up 2 of the wheels
3/8th is not bigger than 1/2inch. Maths
Brian Smith I had to rewind to make sure I heard that correctly, sure did...same thought as you.
Just rewinded to listen for the same thing again... hahaha sound logic on this one
Sure is haha I messed up
I’m sure he meant 1/4 inch, that what Morrflate uses.
@@laxhound13 Rewinded?
Think you misspoke. You say other options usually use 1/2 inch hose, thats bigger than 3/8".. meaning the other options would air up/down quicker.
I think he meant to say that "most hoses on the market are 1/4" and the QuikFlate has a 3/8" hose, which is larger".
Was about to type this lol
yup think he meant 1/4" (quarter) inch hose because MORRFlate is the competitor and their hose is 1/4"
Yeah I did haha
Seems that stock valves are not a problem inflating with power tank. The time issue is deflating. I've been trying to think of a way to deflate the tires faster. Monster valves are fast, but I'm not sure how you'd connect all four tires using Monster valves and get benefit. I like the idea of tire equalization. You could connect all four tires using method in this video, then open a Monster valve on one tire. However, that tire would deflate faster, even though all four tires were connected, as the deflation on the other three tires would be limited to the stock Schrader valve stems. They should make a tank with a pump connected to it that draws a vacuum. Then you could deflate with stock valves more quickly.
nice video. some questions for ya:
- typical cost to refill?
- is it hard to find places to refill?
- how many times can you air up to your street driving psi (40psi?)
$20 to refill, most liquour stores refill them, I get 4-5 times trips out of it with 35" tires
cool system, not sure i really want to haul all that crap around with me though. I might be sold on the powertank if i can hook up my sodastream to it though!
3/8 hose dosent air up faster it actually aira up slower then 1/4 hose smaller the inner diameter the higher the psi pressure 3/8 holds more air volume but pushes less psi then a 1/4 hose holds less volume but can maintain higher psi for longer
Awesome video!
Who makes that bumper on your truck? looks awesome!
I’d stick with lighter weight, less bulky hoses and maybe the tank instead of the onboard compressor. But how’s the capacity of the tank? How many times can you fill 4x35’s with it?
We usually get about four fills
Nice tank but i always have 10 min to fill up and move a bit after hitting the trail ..
Viair isn't the fastest compressor I know of 12v portable compressor that can do 10 psi to 40 psi for 35s in little over 4 minutes with a quad air system
Do you guys have a different set up on truck ? Should make a video on that
Sure will
Should do video on leaf pack comparison and why u switched if u did
True, we should do one
Last time I checked 3/8 is smaller than 1/2. New math?
😂 you got me, I messed up
How many times can the power tank fill your tires before it needs to be filled?
Going to 37psi, damn it, going to 36. sounds so much like me on the trail.
Math isn’t your strong suit bro 1/2 is bigger than 3/8 none the less amazing set up will be making one for my truck. Thanks
You right, we said it wrong
@@Runnin4Tacos man I wish people would just let mistakes slide. Thank you for making these videos.
That’s pretty quick. So do you normally travel around town with 40psi for everyday use? Wouldn’t that make your ride hard?
Yessir, I do it because I have some added weight
"Wifey" system is the cleanest setup
Agreed but wait until our onboard system video
Did you guys post the video to onboard system
Have you tested this system on a air compressor with a 2 or 3 gallon air tank?
Have they come out with a new bag for the quikflate yet? The current one sucks lol
They are working on it haha
Trying to wrap my head around a bigger hose allowing more airflow even though the schrader valve is the same size for both hoses.😂
Haha you aren't wrong
I can't find it or anything similar on Amazon or ebay wtfff
We have the link to the product in the description
are you satisfied with a 10lb tank or do you wish for a 15lb tank?
10 is good, 15 is too big imo
Never mind the fact, just about any 12v pump cant keep up with anything bigger then 1/4 line, also your shrader valve is the limiting factor here, on top of pump cmf /4 tires.....sorta stupid to assume a 3/8th line is bigger, and thus just means more air..........
Would you recommend a 4 or 2 tire system for a Viair 400P or single compressor ARB? I wonder if 4 tires might be a bit too much at a time for a smaller CFM compressor.
Viair is a quality compressor. They can handle 4 tires, so go with the 4
Both are plenty capable for the psi you're asking it to push
I have the Viair 400 P but I don’t have that hose coupler. Do you sell that Viair hose or I have to get it from Viair?
You’d have to get that from Viair unfortunately
You do know that 1/2 inch is larger than 3/8 inch
What kind of tires are those
BFG KM3s
Apex quick deflate valves are WAY faster. Dropped my 35" tires from 50psi to 15psi in 15 seconds.
Are you guys Laos?
Is there a way I can buy just the whip extension?
Send us an email. Support@runnin4tacos.com
What is the model no / part no for the haltec wheel chuck you have used?
Not sure what the part number is, sorry
how’s the drive after installing the bumper?????
Pretty much the same, only added 105lbs, it's like adding a small person in the passenger seat
How much is the cost to re-fill those tanks?
$20
@@Runnin4Tacos Thanks for the reply sir. I'm going to get the quickflate but I have the Vlair 88P which screws onto the valve stem. I wonder if there is an attachment that I can get to allow me to plug the QuickFlate Quad into that so I don't have to get the higher model Vlair which already has the connector.
Market needs auto stop air down to pre set psi.
There is the tech for it but the piece that controls that costs $300 by itself before the compressor and everything else. The part is also 3" big
Dude what type of roof rack you Currently have installed . Please advice!
UpTop Overland!
Patrick Mortel R4T thank you
Where can I get one of those tire chucks?
Amazon possibly or contact QuikFlate
Where can you recharge the power tank?
Paintball shops, Dick sporting goods that fill up paintball tanks, some liquor stores that do kegs, brew at shops, some brewerys
Also, welding supply stores and fire extinguisher refill shops....

That viair pump must be dead. Definitely the wrong pump for that job and not really a good comparison.
100% duty cycle, it has always worked for us. It's rated fot use up to 35s. Still going strong after 3 years of use. Not really a comparison video either, it was what we had available
First.
you need all that bs garbage just to air up tires lol
Haha no you just need a compressor
