They are soooooo good and have such an extensive catelog. Tyler is a lyrical genius and he and Josh are both brilliant musicians. Subbed for more twenty one pilots.
The Voice of his Mind ..The Heart of his Love ..The Soul of his Music ... the 2 characters of this video BLURRYFACE & CLANCY ..are both Tyler's Mind vs Heart within his Soul. With that conflict ..he's made something so beautiful and intriguing The best artist I can think of
@@jcBentleyB3 Thanks, I'm looking forward to rewatching the video after I've been through their back to catalogue as I'll have a much better understanding and will more than likely appreciate it even more.
Loved your reaction. First of your Twenty One Pilots reaction that I’ve seen and am about to check out more. Subbing for all the new TØP content too. 🙌
I casually knew them through all of their singles too. Loved Heavydirtysoul and Jumpsuit when I first heard each of them on the radio, but didn't start listening to them intentionally until a few years ago. Tyler's lyricism is what pulled me in. After you've gotten a bit more familiar with the back catalogue, you should also check out some of their live performances. Their energy and fan engagement in the live show is on another level.
Oh, yeah; Tyler is honestly second to none as a lyricist, and there's always so much to digest in his writing. It's like a college course, honestly! He's not afraid to let you right into the inner workings of his head, and all the struggles he's been through, so it's like the more you listen, the more you get to understand him as a person... If you haven't listened to them yet, I would HIGHLY recommend checking out "Car Radio" and "Migraine", for some writing that hits particularly hard!
I have listened to 'Car Radio,' but only once or twice and not for a very long time. Once I've done a few reactions from Veseel, I'm going to take the time to listen to the full album a few times and really take in the lyrics etc.
I can see you really enjoying more of their stuff. Super cool guys and they seem so wholesome and talented. At The Risk Of Feeling Dumb is my favourite from the same album as RITN (Clancy).
You picked up so much on a new band for you. Yes, they mix genres between songs and within songs. They often have an upbeat sound to a dark lyric, because I believe there is always a positive message for the listener. Yes, too, for how they are very down to earth guys who would be cool to hang out with. Twenty One Pilots love their fans. The mutual respect between these two and the fans is second to none. There is a lot to learn down this rabbit hole, as there is a lore that has continued through a decade and multiple albums as well. There were a couple of Easter eggs in this video for the lore that you would have no way of knowing at this point. I hope you dive in to this rabbit hole with two feet. You will not be disappointed.

Let's get some more Twenty One Pilots! My all time favorite was "Migraine" off of their album titled Vessel; until "Oldies Station" from their latest album came along and dethroned it. People are going to tell you to watch the Berlin Tapes remixes, I personally wouldn't bother.
@@RichardArnoldable Thanks Richard. I'm starting with Vessel. I did a reaction to 'Ode to Sleep' a couple of days ago but it got blocked. I'm going to give it a few days but if it doesn't get released, I'll do 'Migraine'. Thanks for the sub.
@thevikingbuddha You're welcome! Additionally, I would love to see some reactions to a band called "Spanish Love Songs". They have an album titled Schmaltz, and the entire project is a well constructed, interconnected expression of exasperation with society at large. Basically, a hopeful defeatist.
Not sure if anyone has already explained but twenty one pilots have been telling a story in their music in the last four albums, kind of in loose 'concept album' way. I have to stress it''s absolutely possible to enjoy and appreciate their music without knowing the story, which you will hear fans refer to as 'the Lore', but I'm just letting you know because if that is something that interests you, there is an order to listen in, and there will be some lyrics/videos which refer to that story. These two songs you've reacted to are from the latest album Clancy which may or may not conclude the storyline, we are not quite sure! Edit; also, yes they are really nice guys. Very down to earth, not 'starry' at all, they haven;t forgotten their humble beginnings.
@@Jules-R No, nobody has mentioned that, so thank you for doing so. And yes I'm extremely interested in learning more about that. Can you help me understand the order as that seems like the perfect way to immerse myself into their artistic output?
@@thevikingbuddha Happy to. There is a short 'journey' which is purely for the those just wanting to follow the Lore songs/videos. But as you used the word 'immerse' and seem to want to get to know more about Tyler's lyrics, I think most of us would recommend starting with the album Vessel from 2013 (their first album on a record label) and going fowards in time from there so you can see how they have grown and how their music has evolved. It will also naturally lead you into the more Lore based music associated with the later albums. (Just a quick note, the band started in 2009 and there were two self-released/self-recorded albums back then, before the current drummer Josh joined the band in 2011, but Vessel is the best starting point IMO). So the album order will be Vessel, Blurryface, Trench, Scaled and Icy and Clancy. From Vessel start with Ode To Sleep. It's like a documentary style music video and will introduce you to how the Tyler and Josh started out as a two piece band back in 2011. Other popualr songs from Vessel are Car Radio, Holding On To You, Migraine, Guns For Hands, Trees and Truce but people may request others intead or as well. It really depends how much time you want to spend on twenty one pilots! Let the fans in the comments guide you throughout, we are a dedicated and knowledgable bunch and love it when a reactor really wants to get their teeth into the music and connect with the band!
@@Jules-R Thanks Jules, I really appreciate you taking the time to provide me with that level of detail I have heard Car Radio, so it seems right to start with 'Ode To Sleep'. I'll see what people say but I may well react to 3 or 4 songs from Vessel and then listen to the full album in my own time.
So glad you are enjoying the boys. Many of their songs are happy sounds with deep lyrics. A lot of them deal with mental health. Some older songs deal with figuring out god and dealing with thoughts of self harm or suicide. He's got a couple, I think one or two, on each album that are to/for his wife or other family. I have always appreciated the lack of bad language and songs and lyrics involving booty or drugs, etc. Their sound has changed and evolved over the years. They have experimented and learned and grown. They are amazing live. They are just a very good couple of guys!
