I prefer the last technique,.
May I suggest getting a bryer? It will help prevent any air bubbles, and they are really cheap to get.

Any suggestions as to how to make them waterproof so they can be put on car windows?

The clear vinyl should be waterproof, but I'm not sure they will last.....that is a great idea which I need to look into!😊😊❤️
