Underwear is such an underated essential, ive had a long history of skin problems so knowing the right materials for myself has really helped out. Modal,Bamboo and Cotton are by far the best for everyday use. Plus knowing the right style for your environment is also really helpful.
Also a note: You don't need to buy everything full price, most of my wardrobe is made for pieces that I really love and got on sale, the key is patience!
Your videos put a smile on my face. And the suggestions are always a banger. Thanks, bro. I have never worn good clothes for the last 32 years. But since I started following you from 2021, wearing good clothes is the only thing that makes me happy.
Have worn CK underwear for years and years having tried all sort of cheap and expensive brands, but I’ve recently discovered that UNIQLOs supima cotton ones are just as comfortable and about a third of the price. I’ve been slowly replacing all my old CKs as they wear out and haven’t looked back.
I really love your style. I’ve trying to up my game lately and find that most fashion channels are either styles that I feel I’ve outgrown (street wear, Jordan’s etc.) or that feel too boring, stale, and old. Channels aimed at men my age (30s) feel too conservative and have a weird thing against black. And I love black! I love your style because it’s mature, simple, (not trying too hard), but still has a little bit of that youthful edge, that sense of adventure I’m looking for. Basically, I want to be able to wear my cloths to the office, but not look like everyone else in the office. And again, I want to wear black! I will be bringing your stuff and subscribing.
Thanks a lot mate. I appreciate that and I think you have described my style and what I like perfectly. Great to have you as part of the channel. Thanks for the support
Great video, I agree about shoes, you definitely get what you pay for if you do a little homework. The other thing I would add is a suit or even a blazer. They should be wool or linen, no synthetic fibers or blends.
Growth & maturity both in spending money & tastes of clothings . You earned the both like I did. I’m smart , very smart shopper now WITH GREAT TASTES ( not because of the popularity brand names ) 👍❤️
Love your videos Harry, I've been getting into fashion as a young man that just entered the adult world and your style is a big inspiration for me. Basically, it seems like anything visible on the top layer is worth splashing cash on for good quality items!
The Icebreaker Merino Whool underwear is a complete gamechanger, indeed retail price is quite steep, but you can often find them on 30/40% sale. Defentely worth it!
I would pay anything for a good pair of headphones. I curently have the sony wh-1000xm3, before them I had xm2. The best purchases of my life. Music means the world to me, so it's totally worth it! Edit: I'm glad you like your xm4, I remember how you were talking about buying them.
Good headphones are definitely important, I have the WXM4s and they're the best headphones I've ever had. So for those of y'all on the fence I'd highly recommend, not to mention their super durable, mine have fallen on concrete times a plenty and they still work perfectly
I love all sorts of dressy/suit/pleated trousers for simple summer fits with sneakers and a tucked in teeshirt. The problem is i have been losing weight and i am reluctant on spending a lot on pants when suddently they start being more baggy. Not liking belt is another issue 😂 Unless someone can recommend me pleated trousers with some sort of integrated belt adjustment.
Definetly agree with yor list! I made the mistake when getting in to clothing to buy quantity over quality and man was that an expensive mistake. Have you tried represent clothing? Personally they are the best clothing item i've ever bought. They're definetly pricy, but i am yet to regret any of my purchases. Anyways, great video as always 😀
Thanks a lot dude. Represent was one of the brands that really got me into fashion back in the day. I haven’t bought anything from them in years but the quality was always good from the pieces I had
Pants (especially on the smarter end of the spectrum) are worth investing in. I buy all mine from Goodwills in rich neighborhoods, and there's a genuine difference between polyester pants and 100 percent wool. They're warmer, they pleat better, and they hold their shape. The best part is that you can get them cheap if you're thrifting.
To me there's 2 lists: Items you HAVE to invest in and Items you SHOULD invest in. You HAVE to invest in a good pair of shoes. I know from personal experience that there's a huge difference between $30 running shoes from Costco and $120 running shoes from New Balance. You really can't get away from this one, even if you're not into fashion. Items you should invest in: - Outerwear - Underwear - Socks Imo it's worth it to invest in these items. Underwear and socks see a lot of use so it makes sense to invest in them. And good outerwear is more comfortable and long-lasting than bad quality outerwear. It wears a lot better, and performs its job a lot better. Other items like shirts, shorts, pants, joggers, and sweats? Eh. I'm the type of person to invest in clothing but my $30-40 hoodies and joggers are still very much alive after 4 years of hard use. Imo it's not worth spending $250 for Cole Buxton stuff.
Agreed. For hoodies and sweatshirts, a premium weight $60 hoodie is obviously not as good quality as, say, a $250 cole buxton or $500 Ami hoodie… but it’s like 80% of the way there, for easily 1/4-1/10th the price.
@@supbro3262 I have recently bought some Adidas underwear. It DOES feel nicer than my Hanes but honestly I don't notice my underwear in general. I wouldn't spend anymore than that on underwear. But if you want to, Asket makes great stuff in general. And I've heard good things about Lululemon's underwear. As for socks, I don't have any real experience with high end socks. My Pumas socks are soft but kinda itchy. A lot of people swear by Darn Tough; they're def worth checking out.
I've watched both videos and to me you have to invest in shoes, pants, coats, and shirts. I largely agree with everything else, but I want to talk about shirts. I understand your reason for saying I could possibly skip on shirts, but I have long arms. As a tall bro I usually run into shirts that never fit me right and it's primarily with sleeves, the sleeves are off or like my recent experience with a couple of shirts from H&M and one from Zara, it did fit but easily shrank after multiple washes. Great video as always Harry!
Thanks mate. I still buy good materials in shirts so they don’t shrink but I don’t often buy designer. Some Our Legacy shirts have been very tempting recently though.
Thanks for the conversation Harry, I'm going to delve deeper in the world of Everlane and Cos and see what happens. Your perspective has helped me, I wish you good days!
Honestly regret buying reps when a certain shoe I liked suddenly increased its price the week I saved enough to buy them. Even tho a quick trip to a cobbler fixed my issues with them, this vid and my exp rly cements not to even bother going cheap on shoes again.
if you use them often enough; a good quality backpack [or handbag in my case] cheap bags are nice but nothing worse than it suddenly ripping apart or being unusable after a short time. while a higher price doesn't automatically mean better quality or longevity but a proper bag retailer will often be quite pricey. better to check reviews and look around for confirmed long-lasting, versatile bags.
Greetings from Malaysia! I've always enjoy your videos even though I'm of the opposite gender. Your video style and taste in outfits are aesthetically pleasing ✨ Keep it up!
Never cheap out on Knitwear and Jackets/Blazers. Honestly you should also have one really nice dark washed jeans. I had to edit this to include dress shoes either do it right or don't bother.
As for the hoodie, it doesn't need to be a 100% cotton. I have a 42 polyester 58 cotton blend hoodie from carhartt wip, the one with no design but the little carhartt logo on the sleeve and I absolutely love it. It's an everyday piece of clothing, because it's a brown basic hoodie and it is comfy, warm, and it goes with everything
@@HarryHas no problem. Just the way that the carhartt hoodie is blended, i don't know if it's the weave pattern, or what but it's super soft. Thanks for the reply
