I have the JBL 5.0 and trust me when you play true Atmos content it sound absolutely amazing. The sound is really big and spacious. I cannot believe how this tiny thing can output this amount of volume and bass.
I have tried bose 600 and jbl 5.0, Bose 600 gives true dolby atmos. If you will watch any movie by soundbar 600, you will feel that the sound is coming from back. I was looking back again and again that maybe there is a speaker behind.
Where I live (The Netherlands) I was able to recently purchase the JBL Bar 5.0 for 300 euro's (about $315). So that makes the JBL actually a very attractive offer over here. Especially considering that the Sonos, as great as it sounds, is 100 euro's more expensive. And the JBL gets damn near the same quality.
I have Sonos Beam (2nd Gen) with Sub (3rd Gen) and two One SLs, in my small apartment unit. It's already so extremely loud even when the volume level is at 14 or 16. I usually put it at 8 or 10 most of the time. Can't imagine how loud it can get at max volume (level 100).
The JBL’s ‘normalization’ issue is actually a problem in the decoder and should have a firmware solution. Of these three companies, JBL has by far the best R&D dept and should be least likely to have such a problem.
I have had the JBL 5.0 for little over a month and so far sat on the fence. I feel like I’m not getting much from the virtual DA although displayed when available.
The max volume test is A-OK; but, I've never ever listen to my TV or music at max volume. It is kinda like testing a car at max speed of +130 mph when 99.9% of folks drive the speed limit range of 65-80 mph.
Great review, you got a subscriber for it. I’m on the fence between the Sonos Bean 2 and the JBL. I heard in person the Sonos and I was blown away. I need to hear the JBL before I make the choice. I had also heard the Bose 300 and was disappointed with the speech clarity. Anyway this was a very thorough review! Thanks!
I have this Bose. The sound is very good and the dialogue mode is good as well. The built-in Alexa is awful. It has a very long delay to response, and you have to reconnect it to the TV every time ypu use it. I kept it, but turned off all of tue Alexa functions.
Well I have thought about checking it out… but I am hesitant. Sound core is constantly hitting me up to review their stuff. And they offered to send me a few free units of these speakers.
As far as being hesitant to buy them same thing. The only problem is they attended to distort pretty badly at max volume because they get ridiculously loud. When it comes to my experience with the motion boom it wouldn't be my daily listen however I find it a damn good buy plus a good way to get back into speakers for the people that can't afford the main brands. Maby a community post to decide with your audience?
Hi for a new headphones review could you try out and compare the DALI IO 4 AND IO 6 against the B&W PX7 ? or just do a review of the DALI IO 4 and 6. thx It would be so nice of you + i think it would make a great video for your chanel.
I have a Beam 2 and planning to return it. The dialogue is awful! I’ve tried everything and can’t get the dialogue loud enough compared to the rest of the movie sound. It does sound great when I play music. I’m either considering a Sonos Arc or just going with Bose for my home theater system. I’ll still stick with Sonos for my music streaming.
I have two Beam Gen 1: - Office: Beam, Gen 3 Sub, 2 Symfonisk bookshelf speakers, HDMI to LG OLED 55" C1 - Master bedroom: 2 Symfonisk bookshelf speakers, HDMI to LG OLED 55" C9 I turn on the speech enhancement on the iphone app after I do the True Play calibration. I also adjust the Treble/bass to my liking and set the rear surrounds to Full for music. I think the surrounds really help with Beam dialogue because some of that duty is pushed to the rear speakers and the Beam can focus on front speaker duties. The Beam dialogue is improved when I added the sub in the office because of it taking a lot of the bass duties over. The Beam gets increasingly better the more speakers you add. Another options is get a Sonos Roam. You can add it to the Beam with one press in the Sonos app and place it anywhere in the room for enhanced dialogue.
@@mrgold3591 Thank you for your comment. My mini sub arrives today! I ended up keeping the beam and worked with the settings more. I kept it after going to a Best Buy and listening to the arc compared to the beam. It really didn’t sound much better in the dialogue area to justify paying twice the amount as I paid for the beam to buy it. Now I’m happy with it and have added more speakers.
@@brianjackson6643 Good to hear! Thinking about adding the Sonos mini sub to my master bedroom Beam+Symfonisk set-up. Love the way you can mix and match Sonos speakers to fit your listening needs.
@@asduhaisjdjasd bruh that's why at low volume the bass is overpowering at high volumes JBL will actually lower the bass making the mids and highs sound louder.
@@eliazarperez3585 It still is louder though yeah? Also, listening back again, the JBL is louder than both the bose and sonos. I'm using the Sennheiser hd560s (one of the most accurately tuned headphones ever made) and it is clear that the JBL is louder. Fix your speakers or bass boosted headphones please :)
@@asduhaisjdjasd dude I have the multibeam but what I meant to say because the bass is so powerful it doesn't seem like its loud enough compared to the others I have many JBL speakers and thats JBLs style very punchy bass at about 70% or lower and then at higher volume they stop increasing bass and even lower it
@@asduhaisjdjasd but I'm not knocking the multibeam, that shit is worth it inalso have the bar 9.1 and its badass but tbh the multibeam impressed me a lot
Alot its another category but also u pay twice as much.. Id rather go for the jbl with subwoofer… but best value that isnt mentioned here is lg eclair the small soundbar and subwoofer are 400 together and price to sound its cant be beat
I heard a lot of distortion from all 3 soundbar, i had usually 2 philips 250w 3 way speker and i want to upgrade to a soundbar.....after whatching a lot of video i think soundbar sucks!!! Prove me wrong.
The sound in person is way different compared to RUclips+whatever speakers you are using (laptop, PC, headphones, ear buds, etc...). You might need to hit a store that sells all three and listen in person. My Sonos Beam, Gen 3 Sub, and 2 Symfonisk surround sound 10X better in person than anything on RUclips can produce.
Overall nice review, but the actual sound test with the three bars was kind of a mess. Next time dont cycle between the three so fast. Maybe leave the TV speakers out altogether.

I recently purchased the Bose smart soundbar 300 and love it. What do you feel is the best audio settings for the center, treble and bass?
I think the jbl is the best bang for the buck it is half the price of the sonos and bose
I got the jbl yesterday and I had the sonos beam 2 and the jbl completely destroys it !

What wireless sub do you recommend for the Bose and Sonos?
I have had the JBL 5.0 for little over a month and so far sat on the fence. I feel like I’m not getting much from the virtual DA although displayed when available.
How do you have it connected to your tv?
I have it to the eArc on my TV with a 2.1 hdmi cable. True atoms content sounds great.

Go with gen 2
What do think about LG soundbars? I got the LG sound bar sn4
I see there is a auto-volume mode for JBL.. does it solve audio normalisation issue with/without it?
at more than twice the price for the Sonos and three times the price for the Bose compared to the JBL (where I live), I think the JBL is a no brainer
Sonos beam gen 2 or Sony HT-G700??
Both were great. But G700 offer a good price. Both soundbar has dolby atmos. 👍🏽
I’m considering the sonos vs the jbl and after this review I’m still on the fence. Dammit. Pros and cons for both.

I love it Sonos all the best to be honest i has Bose before and sent it for returns and got Sonos arch now i have ones, move, sub, five.
Can you review the Soundcore Motion Boom? Lot's of people love it due to the low price tag and the ability to compete with the JBL Xtremes

Sound bars don't rattle the house with bass ever. That's what a sub is for.
Sonos beam gen 2 or Samsung - HW-S60B 5.0ch ?

These really shouldn’t be in a “home theater” set up. These bars are more for a second room or even a bedroom.

Towers/studio/bookshelf speakers are always better than garbage soundbars
Although true, not everyone has the space for that set up. Or some people just want a good enough easy solution.
Lets rephrase your sentence:
Towers/studio/bookshelf speakers are always more ugly and completely hideous than soundbars
