    One thing I see missing in almost all reviews (for various products) is the size and shape of the AC power brick. Many of these products have adapters that will never fit in recessed receptacles.

My current beam is wall mounted, concealed cables behind the wall etc with about 5mm clearance between bottom of TV and top of beam. Assuming I’ll need to lower it a little to get full effectiveness of Atmos?

      @smarthomesounds  3 года назад

      Hi Tim, Yes set-up should be quick but you will need to add the new Beam through the Sonos app too. I wouldn’t worry about moving the position of the Beam as the driver arrays are the same but 100% trueplay the speaker. Hope this helps.

    Great review guys, thanks a lot. I am just wondering how is the vocal clarity compared to the arc? Is the same or even better the on the arc?

    • @smarthomesounds
      @smarthomesounds  3 года назад +3

      Great question! You do get an additional 2 tweeters in the Arc and this translates to crisper and clearer vocals than the Beam Gen 2. Although the Gen 2 closes the gap between the Gen 1 and the Arc, I'd still say the Arc comes across as even clearer than the Beam Gen 2. Hope that helps!

    Are all five drivers play with standard music (as its stereo i thought maybe only left and right one will do something)? Can you hear a difference between gen 1 and gen 2 with standard spotify music?

    • @smarthomesounds
      @smarthomesounds  3 года назад +1

      Hi there, good question! On the whole, music that is played in standard resolution (not Dolby Atmos / Spatial audio), it is very similar. There is not much difference at all. The Beam Gen 1 can still play Atmos music but it will be lossy however the addition of the eARC on the Gen 2 makes the maximum resolution higher, so is more future proof in that respect. Hope that helps!

    Does ATMOS provide any value for setups that const simply of a sound bar and a sub? Obviously having rear (and height) speakers will be better but what I want to know is if it makes any sense for sound bar + sub, setups (i.e. no rears or heights).

    Not got the beam yet, but want to use sonos amp with KEF Ci160q in ceiling and a sub not sure which sub,.
    would like to know is it okay to do that in stead of the sonoa speakers?

    • @smarthomesounds
      @smarthomesounds  2 года назад

      Hi Simon, yes that is possible. The app will still let you set up the speakers as surrounds to the Beam, no problem at all.

    • @smarthomesounds

      Hi Rodney, no the Arc is 100% better when you add surrounds, but we would choose the Beam & surrounds if budget didn’t allow for the Arc & surrounds.

    I've got a room that is 4 meters x 9 meters.
    The sofa is in the center of the 9 meters side. The TV is on the opposite wall, 4 meters away from the sofa.
    I've got two sonos ONE.
    Which soundbar is the best for this configuration?
    The beam (gen2) one or the arc one?
    With the Beam (gen2) is better to have a subwoofer?
    Thanks a lot for the reply.

    • @smarthomesounds
      @smarthomesounds  2 года назад +1

      Hi Davide, it would really depend on your watching habits so if you watch a lot of newer movies and you really enjoy doing this, you'll get more out of the Sonos Arc due to the upwards and sideways firing drivers. Alternatively, if your viewing is more casual but you'd still like Atmos, then the Beam is a great shout. I hope that helps!
