I really loved your review video and I would like to know few things. Is this the best sound quality and clarity that we can get in a compact sound bar comparing and considering other sound bars or is there any other superior soundbar same size of this with better quality and clarity?
Hi, I saw that the Arc might be a better option in a larger room. Our living room isn't big, but it does open up to the kitchen and dining areas. Does this matter? Would Arc be worth the extra few hundred dollars? Beam Gen 2 sounds sufficient enough for our needs but would like to consider all the options before investing money into one. Thanks!
Im sure you will notice the difference and its big,the arc has 11 speakers to it and 2 up firing speakers for atmos which you can also adjust volume in the sonos app,the sound of the arc is lot bigger and wider
I have 2 of the gen 1 and they sound very good especially the one in the smaller room. I use a Playbar for my main TV and it sounds amazing watching 4k video. For music, the Beam is a great Sonos speaker to add to my system. Very happy with them
You mentioned that you can control the volume of the beam using the TV remote, but do you if you can control the volume using a cable box remote? I can control my Samsung TV volume using both. Thank you.
Thanks - the first review of Beam Gen 2 and I really like the improvements. Noone can say True-PlayToooooning the first time haha. Keep doing them.. You are excellent and quite the professional. Love it!!
Great review! I have the same setup but cannot get the Samsung (numeric) volume indicator to show up. I am seeing a generic speaker icon and just a + - when adjusting the volume but cannot judge how loud the tv is until something starts playing (no numeric indicator). Are you experiencing the same thing, is this normal? Thank you!
Which sound bar Sony HT-G700 vs Sonos Beam Gen 2, should be better for Xbox Series X gaming, and movies on Samsung QLED QN90A ? Music is not priority. ..
Hi Erin...I have 3X3 bedroom for which I am looking for Soundbar. What do you recommend Sonos Beam or Arc kepping budget aside. Under Upgrade program, I am eligible for 30% discount on both of them.
I have an identical setup, 2021 The Frame paired with Beam Gen 2. However when I'm watching Atmos movies on the native Netflix app, the Sonos app reports as "Dolby Multichannel PCM 5.1". How do you enable Atmos? I've tried adjusting the playback settings of my Netflix to high, tried an 8K HDMI 2.1 cable, enabling eARC in the TV settings. I'm not sure if there's something else I can do.
Great review of this Sonos that really clarified some things for me! I’m on the fence between this soundbar and the Bose 300 (keeping it compact). The virtual Dolby Atmos is intriguing and the plan is to add a Sub to either bar. Is Wifi connectivity generally reliable vs Bluetooth in the Bose? The TV, and Apple TV are both using wifi as well.
You mentioned Sonos can play music from cellphone, but how does that happen? over wifi? Since Sonos doesn't have bluetooth, I wonder what I am losing? I want to be able to play music from phone or my laptop, how does that work??
The Sonos is connected by wifi from your phone for music streaming. You don't get those annoying smartphone notifications, interruptions from phone calls, or bluetooth signal drop as you move around the house in/out of range. I can add my 2 Roku devices, 3 other smartTVs, and 2 Sonos Roams for an whole house audio system. I would drag a portable bluetooth speaker around with me to every room before Sonos.
GREAT REVIEW.......i have the Beam 1 by itself and also the ARC with 2 sonos subs and 2 SL Ones ...love both.....will probably replace the beam 1 with the Beam 2.....ARC will stay where it is with the 85 inch TV.......Beam is for the 65 inch TV......cheers from Canada...by the way i love your voice
My Beam Gen 2 can’t connect to my Frame 55” 2021 😭😩 When I plug the HDMI into the ARC port the Sonos App keeps saying it can’t detect it. I checked on the Sonos forum and found many share the same problem. You’re lucky that you got yours to work :/
I’ve been having sound issues with mine.. sounds similar to a Jackhammer that can only be switched of by pulling the plug out of the socket. Doesn’t seem that Sonos know what causes this.
You can pair IKEA Symfonisk speakers, One SLs, or the Sonos Fives. Adding the Sonos sub will also make a huge improvement in sound qualify and clarity because the bass functions will move to the sub and mids/highs will stay with the Beam.
Thanks for the great review Erin! I am planning to get the exact same setup (Frame 2021 + Sonos Beam 2). Can you check if the Frame can output Dolby Atmos audio to the Beam 2 using the native apps like Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime? You'll be able to check if the audio format coming into the Beam 2 is Dolby Atmos or not by using the mobile app. I have seen some forums online which say that Samsung TVs do not support Dolby Atmos through their native apps (especially Netflix). Just wanted to double check before I make the purchase! Thanks a lot!
Hi Anuj. Yes the Frame 2021 does allow for Dolby Atmos to be sent when playing content through the native apps. There is the setting to turn Dolby Atmos on or off in the Samsung Sound Settings. Hope this helps.
Manufacturers are giving less and still charging as much or more. No remote? No sub? Try making it sound good without hardly any low frequency. Keep in mind the sound stage is restricted as well even with good design since the product is only a couple of feet wide, and in most cases seating is not right in front, but several feet away. This affects music more than basic tv sound for news. Probably good solution to improve computer sound, but expensive for that. Check Bluetooth soundbars w/wireless subs that are longer.
I started out with the Beam, added rear IKEA Symfonisk a few months later, and then a Sonos gen 3 sub after that. I like the ability to mix/match speakers depending on my needs, wants, and budget. The Beam soundbar improved in overall sound quality with each puzzle piece I added. Just recently upgraded Beam rears to One SLs rears and moved the Symfonisk speakers into another room for whole house audio. Not having a remote isn't an issue for me because my smartphones and iPad is my remote. I had two old iPhone 6S+ collecting dust in my desk I"m now using with the Sonos app. I know have 5 remotes I can control the Sonos ecosystem from any location (18 Sonos speakers total).
She probably has to be carful about content matching, you can't show or have audio of copyrighted material onscreen or heard for too long. Otherwise her video might get taken down and then she gets a ding on her You Tube channel. If it keeps happening your channel can be taken down entirely.
Thanks for being generous by playing a lot of sound in this review unlike others.
😃 I try. One day I may get a copyright hit. But for now…
My Sonos Beam G2 arrives TODAY, I can’t wait!
Thanks for a great, clear and concise review. I’ve subbed. From the UK.
That's great, thanks for the sub!
I really loved your review video and I would like to know few things.
Is this the best sound quality and clarity that we can get in a compact sound bar comparing and considering other sound bars or is there any other superior soundbar same size of this with better quality and clarity?
It is my current favourite right now.

Hi Erin have you reviewed the samsung q990c?
I just purchased the 2021 Frame TV and the Sonos Beam Gen 2 - 5 months on now, do you still like it? 😁
I do! Toying with the 2022 frame just to make another video but I love both still.
My beam 2 gets delivered in a few days. Can't wait!
Woo hoo!

Very nice! Thanks for sharing!
They are pricey... Do you use / need a sub? The Gen 3 subwoofer is $749 ouch!
You mentioned that you can control the volume of the beam using the TV remote, but do you if you can control the volume using a cable box remote? I can control my Samsung TV volume using both. Thank you.
Would you recommend this over Bose 900 ?
It’s my preference yes, Sonos.
@@ErinLawrenceTV ok 👍 just ordered one Thanks for the Help
This compatible with Samsung qn94a? I heard the beam gen 2 didn’t have pass through so it may be an issue for this tv…
Im about to get same set up. Just curious, will the sonos power off with the Frame since it requires a long press on power button to power off tv.
How would you compare the sound to premium soundbars
Madam Sonos 5 vs Denon home 350 which is better in audio
i wonder how good it is for classical music 2-channel hi-fi playback.

Did you run the Trueplay tuning on the S2 app? On my tv I had to enable Atmos.
Is your HDMI output on your TV set to PCM or bitstream? Bitstream seems to work better for max sound for me.
One of the best soundbar I have ever owned
Good to hear!
👍It's refreshing to see a lady with high knowledge on this SONOS 2 Gen. Sound Bar System . Well Done! Regards from London UK 🇬🇧
Thanks so much, I appreciate that!
Underrated channel, glad I clicked.
Thank you 🙏
How big is the difference between the Gen 1 and Gen 2
Sonos beam gen 2 or Sony HT-G700?

Hi Erin
Do you know if this little beast can be connected to the frame via Bluetooth?
The Beam doesn't have bluetooth. The only Sonos speakers that have Bluetooth are their portable ones.
You could connect it via airplay 2 from an Apple TV 4k tho and that would work. I just played a movie like that last night and it sounded great.
Beautiful set up. Frame and Sonos in white
Thank you!
Thanks Erin. "True-play tuning." 😊
OMG right?
which one is batter Sonos been 2 vs Bose 300 please let me know ?
I love the Beam.
I’ve been having sound issues with mine.. sounds similar to a Jackhammer that can only be switched of by pulling the plug out of the socket.
Doesn’t seem that Sonos know what causes this.
Oh, that's terrible!
I have a sonos one sl. Can the beam be paired with it?
Yes if you have two of them

WOW!
Now I don't need 5.1 wire acoustics!!!
Many thanks Erin!!! 💖
True play tuning.) 👍
Haha. I know!
how is this with apple tv
Thats my christmas sorted then! Thanks for the great and informative review!
Thank YOU!

Camper van update for next video! 🙌
Haha. We are so far behind on that front. And we still have to put in our last couple of cabinets… I am a bad camper van construction videographer …

So sad TruePlay isn't available on Android. Sonos just says "borrow an iPhone from your friend". Sure.
OMG does it actually say that ?! 🧐😳
Why didn’t you test it with a action movie

No upfiring speakers means no Dolby atmos.
Choose the battery version.
ha! love the outtake
Ha! Thanks Rudy!
Tv too high
Is it OK to place it on carpet?
Yes you can but placement wise it's better to have it elevated and not sitting on the ground.
@@archwaytech Thanks. I bought some rubber pads :)
