I have the Beam 2 and it’s amazing…. the bass response is really great, even in my family room without the sub it was incredible. With the sub it made me think I really didn’t need the ARC. I had a Klipsch sound bar before that was in the $600 range and this thing blows it out of the water even with out a sub.
@@JonahMatthes I just got the ARC recently and moved the Beam 2 to the bedroom. I ordered the ARC months ago from Sonos because a got a 15% discount for owning a Play 1 and it came back in stock at the end of March and received it recently. Loving the setup with ARC, sub and 2 one SLs! Thanks for your videos!
What are your audio settings for the beam 2? Did you use the Trueplay? I have a beam 2 and a mini sub. However, I think that without a sub the beam 2 provides little bass. Unless I set the bass almost to maximum via the audio settings.
I started with a Bose 600, added a pair of Era100’s, the delay I couldn’t fix even with the ms/delay feature. So gave the Bose to a friend and ordered a Beam gen2. It arrives tomorrow and I cannot wait to get it all set up. I might eventually add a pair of 300’s. I live in an apartment so don’t want to get the Sub until I live in a house and can fully enjoy it 👌🏼
Great video!! But I don’t see anybody talking about the power off and on on this sonos gen 2. When you have the tv connect to this soundbar and turn off the tv, the soundbar continues on with led light on. Also, when you just playing music 🎶 from the app, there is not way to turn the bar off and just have to pause it and leave it like that. Also, I’ve been unplugging it from the electrical outlet. I appreciate if you can share any info about powering off this Sonos gen 2 bar. Thanks 🙌
I bought the Sonos Arc and the Sonos Beam 2 with the Ones and subwoofer. The Arc system is perfect for my living room and my bedroom. The Beam 2 system is perfect for my guestroom. I'd highly recommend the Beam 2 for smaller rooms, apartments, and connected townhouses. What separates Sonos soundbars from every other brand is how great they sound not only for movies but also for music, gaming, and sports. LG, Sony, and Samsung don't come close for music sound quality and they all use cheap subwoofers
I have the Bose 900 full system. The calibration is one of the best because the band sits on the head and feedback is wired back. Not to mention the mic is made for it and not dependent on the phones. I like all of these newer products. Simpler and less cluttered. I get great sound without looking like an audio fanatic and my wife likes the look too. I agree with Bluetooth. I never use it.
would the BEAM 2 + SUB MINI + ERA 100's be sufficient for a 12x14 foot room with 7.5 foot ceiling ? like to watch sports / movies / news channels or would just the ARC ULTRA by itself be just as good ? thx a bunch cheers from Canada
Thanks for your very informative review. I'm curious to know though, whether a Sonos Beam Gen 2 can be connected to an Apple TV 4K in the same way that HomePods are connected - i.e. using AirPlay 2. I have an older TV that does not allow Dolby Atmos to pass through from a HDMI input to my HDMI ARC port. Therefore I need my Apple TV 4K to connect directly to my speakers using either AirPlay 2 or HDMI input (which the Sonos does not have). I'd prefer to use Sonos if possible, so I can extend the system in the future by adding a sub and the new Era 300 rear Atmos speakers. If this is possible, would latency be an issue connecting them via AirPlay 2?
Please help because I am starting to be confused and do not know what to buy especially since I do not live in the UK or the USA so if I buy this it will be tough to ship it back. What would you recommend for small or medium-sized living rooms, Sonos Beam Gen 2 with Sonos Sub mini ( also optional two Era 100 rear spikers ) or Sonos Arc with Sub mini? The room is about 5 meters long and 3.40 meters wide. I also planning to buy a 77-inch LG Oled, why am I telling you the size of the TV? because I heard somewhere that if you have a big TV you should match the soundbar size to the TV size, so I would like to know if also is true or not.
On the topic of Bluetooth, there’s also phone calls and notifications. They can interrupt streaming when using Bluetooth. That will never happen when streaming over wifi. As a recent Beam Gen 2 owner, I can tell you it makes all the difference. I definitely plan on getting One SLs for surrounds. The bass is sufficient enough though that I don’t have plans to get the Sub. It fills my small apartment perfectly and I’ve already received multiple complaints from neighbours.
What size of room u mentioning. I have a 15 ft x 10 ft room and intend to use beam with sub across the width and not length. This but feedback is appreciated.
Great video. Loved your style. Unfortunately the Sonos Beam and Arc only have one ARC connection, which of course is eARC to enable full Atmos audio signal from the TV to Sonos, as long as your TV is new enough to have eARC. If not, and you do not want to buy a new TV, you'd have to buy an Apple TV. But as the Sonos only has one ARC connection you can't feed the Apple TV to the Sonos and the feed the video signal from the Sonos to your old TV. (The reverse path.) You have to also buy a Fury splitter to go from the Apple TV to feed the video signal to your TV and the full Atmos audio signal to the Sonos. And so if I wanted just one extra feature on the Sonos Arc it would be to have 2 eARC connections to enable pass through. If I am incorrect on any of the above, please correct me!
It depends if you’re hung up on Atmos/DD+. The playbar is the better sounding option for streaming music and watching normal Dolby 5.1 feeds. Old tech, but still a beast. In a bedroom, the playbar has no need for a sub. You may be able to pick up a used playbar for half the price of a new Beam2.
From my experience, the Sub has been great in any room I've used it in. Depending on the room, you may have to place it in a few different places to find the best location for it.
The Sonos subwoofer is expensive for a reason...it's great. If you don't believe me just read user reviews from regular people on the Best Buy or Amazon websites. I've had the top of the line soundbars with subwoofer from Sony, LG, and Samsung...none of them hit like the Sonos sub especially for music. They all use cheap subwoofers
I did add the Sub3 Gen to pair with Beam2. I feel like listening in a Live Concert … it’s worth every penny and this might be last speakers that will ever buy at least for me. Try the pair and I you won’t be sorry
You can buy something like the HDFury Arcana, which allows the sound to go to the soundbar and the video to go to the TV. Or you can simply not get the Atmos piece by using the HDMI connection, which frankly wouldn't be that big of a loss.
I have the Beam 2 and ARC both with their Sub and One SLs … Beam for bedroom and ARC for living room. With that said, I would not recommend the Beam as your primary sound bar for a living room.
for this money it's better to buy a new Polk Magnifi mini ax and you can buy additional speakers. Supports Dolby Atmos and DTS: X. Sanos expansion is too expensive for the subwoofer only I have a top soundbar Samsung, lg, jbl 9.1. Polk is a much better choice than Beam 2
Trueplay not working on android is the only reason I won't buy Sonos. There's no valid excuse for it, they just won't do it. I'm not going to borrow my friend's iPhone or get an old one or be forced into getting one or borrowing one. Not having airplay. makes sense. Being denied trueplay when all of the hardware is present to run it. not acceptable. Great video btw. If it weren't for Sonos' poor behavior I'd probably be all over their products.
iPad works too. Many Android phone users have iPad. Btw when your iPhone friends are over, ask them to help you. It's manageable. Another reason to go with Sonos is with the resale market. Bar none.
I have this Beam Gen 2 with two One SLs as surrounds and Sub Gen 3. The whole set sounds pretty amazing. Movies and video games feel very immersive

Yeah, there's a pretty massive difference between the Arc and Beam. Get the Arc if you can!
Thanks for the video review

Just recently picked up the gen2, and 2 sl's and the new mini sub and its amazing for my bedroom. Stellar. I do wish it had a 4k hdmi passthrough.

I got my two ONE SLs... But still waiting for the Sonos beam2 to ship out as it's constantly on backorder

Sonos beam gen 2 or Sony HT-G700?
Do I get the sonos beam 2 or the jbl multibeam 5.0, wich do you recommend please.

I have a beam gen 2 with apple tv to a sony x900f (arc only) and am only able to get dd plus 5.1. No atmos. Not sure how to get atmos
Not sure what you mean by connecting music to soundbar using Wi-Fi. Can you do a tutorial on it? Thanks
Why not use the hdmi to optical adapter?
Would you recommend the Sonos Beam (Gen 2) over the Sonos Playbar for a small bedroom? The TV is a Sony Bravia 55" with eARC capabilities
How is this with the sub in a medium size room with vaulted ceilings?
From my experience, the Sub has been great in any room I've used it in. Depending on the room, you may have to place it in a few different places to find the best location for it.

Could you do a review on the side speakers please
Where did you get those lights???
True play works from the Sonos built in mic. it works Android or Apple or any input.
For my Sonos Move at least
I did add the Sub3 Gen to pair with Beam2. I feel like listening in a Live Concert … it’s worth every penny and this might be last speakers that will ever buy at least for me. Try the pair and I you won’t be sorry
Hello. Is LG SP11RA for 900 USD a good deal? Worth it?
Anyone with the beam 2 get a split second sound cut when you use 4k pass through? Have the gen 2 connected to an lg nanocell
Any issues like ssshh sound amplification with vocals currently users suffering with Arc?
Haven't noticed that at all in my testing
I have a harmony remote, will i be able to use it with the beam?
If you set the volume controls to adjust the TV's volume, CEC should take over and adjust the Sonos Beam's volume levels. So, yes.
"Studio lights on"
: michael myers standing behind him 😅
Would you recommend surrounds or sub as a first purchase with beam gen2?
Depend of your money 💰. Don’t go broke in real life just because the subwoofer. Is better get it one thing every time you get paid. 🤠
What if u have a TV that doesnt have E-ARC
You can buy something like the HDFury Arcana, which allows the sound to go to the soundbar and the video to go to the TV. Or you can simply not get the Atmos piece by using the HDMI connection, which frankly wouldn't be that big of a loss.
After the app debacle in May there is no way I will ever buy another Sonos product.
Better than the Playbase by Sonos?
I have the Beam 2 and ARC both with their Sub and One SLs … Beam for bedroom and ARC for living room. With that said, I would not recommend the Beam as your primary sound bar for a living room.
Your poor iPhone must lead a rough life from the looks of the screen protector.

Please don't say the Alexa trigger word in your review.
The Sonos app is problematic. Lose connectivity between my phone or iPad to the Beam2.

Gen2 no need Sub ✌️
u gotta update your phone dude..
Bro sonos sucks in my room... Its sooo dependent on acoustics
Beam and arc
Please mute or muffle the sound when you say Alexa... all my bloody lights turned on.
😂
Lol i would never buy this.
