    The concave top of the Beam is to prevent the TV image reflecting on it, being distracting.

    Great review! JBL Multibeam 5.0 has a Night Mode, pressing the mute button for 5seconds and then the - minus button. Makes dynamic compression lot better.

    Great review! I just bought the Samsung HW-q600a due to currently being in a country with no real options. I found it to be surprisingly adequate and for the price it offers good value. I would love to see a comparison with any other mid-range standalone soundbar or one with the option of a subwoofer to see how it stacks up.

    Browsing for reviews on the JBL as it is half off and looking for a quality PC speaker at a decent price. Already have a Beam 1 and a Beam 2 and love them both but those are cost prohibitive in this application. Great review and your assessment is spot on, as usual. I could clearly hear the difference in your samples. I think the real difference is DSP. Sonos uses it extensively and I would assume JBL goes for a more natural sound. Although that dedicated tweeter also makes a huge difference on the Beam. I know this is an older review on basically retired products, but I still found it relevant and helpful. Thank you!

    Sonos seems to have a richer sound and the EQ adjustment is a big plus. I went for the Sonos Beam and added the Sonos Sub and 2 Symfonisk as rears for the office/game room LG OLED 55C1. I like the Sonos sound a little better than my Nakamichi 7.2.4 system on my LG OLED 77C1 in the family room. The expansion option was huge bonus compared to stand alone systems. Added a 2nd Beam to M. bedroom LG OLED 55C9 with another set of Symfonisk speakers and 2 Sonos Roams to place around the house, yard, or travel as needed.

    • @mrgold3591
      @mrgold3591 3 года назад

      @@neverenoughtech No, I have two Gen 1 Beams I purchase at the start of summer. Without having upward firing speakers, I don't think the Gen 2 Beam would that noticeable of a difference over the Gen 1 Beam? Sonos is smart enough to do a software update to add additional front One SL speakers to the Beam for improved surround and/or Atmos. Same software update to add up to 4 rear speakers also.
