    I really liked this restoration, lots of people just throw a lot of new parts at a frame. It was great to see you reuse everything possible with such care. Great work!

    At minute 16:52, please don't add grease to the ratchets, they're stuck, you should add a little bit of oil; 1 to 2 drops. You're doing a good job!

    This is so well filmed and cut! Love the part where you wrap the handlebars, since most bike restoration channels leave out this part!

      Usually because everyone in the comments gets into an argument about the proper way to wrap bars lol

    Cool video! Thank you! Enjoyed the filming, the absense of music and a quiet (silent) process which was a pleasure to observe!

    it was possible not to cut the bottom bracket cup, it was necessary to cool the water in the freezer and pour the cup from the inside so that it would freeze, and pour boiling water on the outside of the frame, and everything would be unscrewed.

    We got two of these for our daughters ruclips.net/user/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L the same size for age 6 and 9. It works very well for both girls. Gears were very easy for them to learn. Changing gears up takes some hand strength and is a bit hard, but they are learning. They did not come with water bottle holders- we actually got confused and thought the Derailler Guard was the bottle holder!! Regardless of these details, the bikes are fantastic- even our six year old who only just learned to ride bikes caught on within an hour of practice and loves it. Lightweight and easy for them to handle. All the parts are in excellent condition and the bikes are easy to assemble and very well packaged. Great choice for kids!

    apply paint remover at home, best way of getting stonned :D
    Bike after remembers me of old 90s titanium/alu bikes.
    Normally one puts a bit of hand take behind the handles to hide the mechanism, besides that, good application.

    I love how this is really a restoration unlike Coggie Bike he just repoints them frame and everything else is new

    • @MaximRecoil
      @MaximRecoil Год назад

      This isn't really a restoration either. Restore means to bring something back to a previous state, and that previous state normally means "new." He disassembled, cleaned, and re-greased, but he didn't restore anything back to its new condition, and that frame definitely wasn't bare aluminum when it was new. It was painted and had decals on it, like you see at the beginning of the video. The correct term for what he did is "refurbish," not "restore."

    Wow! Una restauración genial, además llevas 3 platos igual que mi Devron eléctrica que uso para trabajar, tengo una Orbea grande de montaña, pero esa la uso los fines de semana. En fin amigo mi más sincer enhorabuena, por cómo has dejado una genial bici de carretera, que estaba desahuciada y condenada ala basurero, la has echo revivir.

    What is the white powder and liquid that you use to soak the part in, to clean them ?

    • @johnpeters1728

      just citric acid and water or something else ?

    • @Lrrrr663
      @Lrrrr663  Год назад +1

      The powder is citric acid with tap water to remove rust,and that kind of pink liquid is automobile engine cleaner to remove oil

    Great video and a fantastic result. Autosol is a great product. Did you polish the entire frame by hand? If so how long did that take? Also did you clear coat the frame after to protect it from future rust and corrosion?

    • @Lrrrr663
      @Lrrrr663  Год назад +1

      I got a sander, but I'm afraid it gonna hurt the frame, and there are so many curves. So yes, i sand it all by hands for two days. I did plans to apply a clear coat, but then I found out aluminum is not that easy to rust, and Autosol itself proved some protection, so i just let it be.

    • @MaximRecoil
      @MaximRecoil Год назад +1

      It's an aluminum frame; aluminum doesn't rust. It can oxidize to the point of corrosion, but not under typical bike riding conditions. Bare aluminum parts have been common on bikes for ages, such as crank arms, chainrings, rims, hubs, seat posts, seat post clamps, stems, handlebars, caliper brakes, brake levers, headset cups, and other things.
