  • Not so easy backing a double-articulated transfer-dump truck, but this driver does a pretty respectable job over a good distance next to other show trucks. Shot at the Truckin' For Kids Truck Show in Irwindale, California on Saturday October 7th, 2017.

Amazing we need more videos of truckers reversing transfers and reversing a set (double pups, double pikes, or double 53'). I learned to reverse a set in under a year. It's awesome, now I just have to perfect it!!!

It's funny that you say that, because whenever I have enough time to do so, I intend to do a compilation video of all of the trucks I've caught backing up over the years. Most are not doubles or articulated in any way but backing is definitely a skillset and I can appreciate the skills that these drivers have.

@@espeescotty sounds good!!!!! Hope to see them soon!!! 🇺🇸🦅✊🏻, Yeah I'ma have to upload some doubles here whenever I can as well, and other drivers that can as well, keep the skills alive.

Difficult trucks to back up, been practicing at the yard lately, am up to about 35 ft. before losing it, lol.

Yes, I'm always impressed when I see any trucker backing their trailers...especially when there are multiple points of articulation such as this. I'd have this baby jackknifed in 10 feet!

They are easy to do actually. Just takes very small input and patience. A lot of times you have to predict what the trailer is about to do before it does and then be fast on the steering to react if a little too late. Just takes time. Haha but you’ll get it.

How do you do that? Is there a video of backing that configuration? I'm hauling a fuel truck and trailer and that Axle is really messing me up

Sorry, I can't give you any pointers about good techniques or tricks. Maybe you should ask Peter Bohnhof who also commented on this video 4-years ago. He might have some good pointers for you.
