That lady who called 911 on that 9 year old made my blood boil. These people need to face serious fines and I didn't understand why her immediate first action was to not speak to the mother but accuse of him of assault and call the police. That lady was not backing down on her claims until she saw the video. What made me even more upset was hearing that child cry. I was a witness this past friday to a pretty bad accident, I called 911 and was put on hold for at least 1 minute. I couldn't believe I wasn't able to be put right thru. This is the #1 reason something has to be done about these irresponsible calls.
His mother(or adult female) was walking with him. Was she in on it? Why immediately call 911 instead of a conversation? Most of these hysterical calls couldve been resolved by a conversation. I guess they feared for their lives?

People need to realize that (1) calling the police on anyone unnecessarily is putting innocent lives in danger. (2) doing so against black people doing ordinary everyday things is racist (3) unnecessary 9/11 calls hold up phone lines from people who really need help.

I don't think that this is motivated by just fear, but rather they are so quick to call 911 because these people are deeply insecure and/or paranoid. They are easily threatened and are usually too stupid or incapable of handing things like an adult so they call an officer in to hold their hand through their difficulties... You would think that as illegal as this is they would learn after a while to stop harassing the 911 operators though... either that or they are not being properly charged.
I had this happen to me once with a drunk psychotic old lady who had a beef with me. A fully armed squad of cops showed up in my home and I'm lucky I didnt get shot for twitching the wrong way. She somehow managed to convince the 911 operator, while heavily intoxicated, that I was a terrorist and I was building a bomb. They cuffed me in my own dining room to a chair at 1AM and searched the house and found nothing. She was packed up in a ambulence and taken away and I got an apology from the officers... didn't get a wink that night. These people are depraved cowards and dangerous lunatics that should be locked away for everyones saftey. She was definatly in the Trump voter category too, unsurprisingly.
It is unlawful to misuse the 911 call system. It can result (depending of state) penalties of 2,000 USD or more and even a year of jail-time.

There's actually one main reason not addressed as to why these people are making these calls and that is clearly the main reason. It is racism and a desire to harass...plain and simple. These people are pure and simply exercising their severe desire to harass and express their racist hatred. This seems plausible to me bc even when these people see evidence to the contrary, they STILL insist their perceived wrong doing towards Black people even when it is is profoundly not the case. Though things like this, and worse, have happened to Black people for many, many years, it is clearly the Trump era, the Trump administration that has emboldened racist White people to effect these hate filled, insane racist and harassing acts more openly. This is evil, childish, dangerous behavior and I truly feel sorry for these people who are so filled with hate that all reason goes out the window. But it is all a matter of time as to how it plays out...and you can bet your soul on the fact that it will not end well for these racist, hateful people. It simply will not. So do your worst...and see how it's ends for these racist oppressors and harassers...just you wait and see.
I was 18 and in the military stationed in Florida. I had just purchased a POS car and it over heated. I pulled over in the parking lot of a furniture store with steam coming from under the hood. I popped the hood and began to investigate. Within 3 minutes two cops pulled up and asked me what i was doing..😒

The real question is why aren’t the police charging these people for misuse of the 911 service? They will stop trying to weaponize a force that is already risking their lives daily. And when I say risking their lives daily, I’m talking about both the cops for doing their jobs AND Black people just for living.

It's also a crime to make a false report of a crime, but that's generally only used for fake bomb threats and SWATing (which require a bigger police response). We could change that, though. We can campaign for at least a fine for making calls like these.

I have lived this long because I have learned to totally block out people.I ignore everything except physical contact. I did have some white lady push me in a parking lot after she backed into my parked car and I took down her license as she tried to drive away. After she pushed me it took all my courage to run away from her and get into my car and call the police without hitting her back. I was in luck that there was a camera to back up my story because she told the police I hit her.

della collins - When I was in undergrad, I worked for my father's law practice over the summer. He would go to Bally's Fitness early in the morning, then I would meet him after his workout, we'd drop off one of the cars at his local office down the street, and then we'd drive one vehicle together to the main office in the bigger neighboring city.
One morning, he was talking to one of the staff members at the front desk on his way out, and a middle aged "white" woman came in and told the front desk that there was a young, black male "lurking" about the parking lot. She was talking about me - sitting in my car, waiting for my father to come out after his workout. Fortunately, the staff didn't call the police or even come outside.
And I'm bright-skinned. If I were dark-skinned, she may have had a heart attack or shot me. I don't get it. I'm middle aged now, and I've never had the urge to call the police on anyone minding their own business. In fact, the only time I had the urge to call the police is when someone stole some of my wheel covers in college (but I didn't bother because I knew that I'd never get them back).

How are these incidents not charged as a deliberate misuse of emergency services. 911 is for emergencies. Most police stations have non-emergent numbers to report non emergent issues....NONE of the things reported meet the criteria for an emergent situation by any stretch of the imagination. They should be fined in addition to the media/community backlash for their idiocracy.

Aren't there laws against calling nine-one-one unless it's an emergency why aren't these laws enforced?
The answer is simple. Black people when the come to your neighborhood as salesmen, contractors, city officials or whatever, you call the cops on them. Give them a taste of their own medicine. Then maybe the officials will pass a law fining people for the abuse or misuse of the 911 emergency system. $250.00 for the first offense, $500.00 for the second and jail time for the third.
So abuse random innocent people based on their color and further obstruct the police from real emergencys, doing the exact damn thing you hate too make a really stupid point?
I did contract work in East Nashville, in the two days I was there, two Mexican painters were shot in the face for their tools in the house right behind ours. I also knew someone who died waiting for 911 to respond. And there were several calls made. Finally, bystanders transported Him to the ER in their personal vehicle. He eventually died at the hospital. The medical staff said they could have saved him if he arrived 10 mins earlier. They were waiting for 911 over 20mins... And counting.
