I stay motivated by my own variation “ you pay 0% of the bills you do not have money for” lol but seriously, gotta pay the bills. This keeps me doing the work I like the least. My death pile got a good clean up the last 4 weeks. Between the hurricane and the weather before and after we have had next to no estate sales and yard sales. So many places were closed. Havnt purchased new inventory in almost 4 weeks.
Justin, I think you have a great idea, suggesting that we viewers ask you questions. I, for one, am gaining more knowledge by listening to your answers. Also, I enjoy your format: questions and answers sprinkled throughout the video, interspersed with your top sales of the week. What a great way to handle both concepts, and to keep it interesting.
Hi Justin 🙂 Two things... Very cool lights behind you to the left and right. ... And major props for your take on discipline. I especially love what you said about people maybe not liking the thing they were disciplining themselves to do but definitely looking the discipline they were displaying. So true. Thanks for being a regular guy (and I mean this in the best way as a big compliment) out here in the RUclips reseller community. You have a smart person's sense of humor and are one of my few faves. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🏆
I do get receipts for the expensive items. I do this so that I am better protected. That I can prove that I dropped it off and saw it get scanned. That way it is completely on the shipping company if an item is lost.
I list items everyday because I love hearing the "cha-ching" sound on my phone. Yes I only list around 4 items daily, but it's not my full time job and I just do the reselling gig for fun or mainly as a side hustle. However, I do play on doing this full time when I hit retirement in a few years.
I always get the receipt. Approximately, 2 years ago eBay actually requested a proof of origin scan receipt in an item not received case involving a PSA graded card I sold ($120). The case ruled in my favor because I had it. USPS was on the hook for it. I was mad at eBay at first because the origin scan was in the tracking but they still requested a receipt. I'm glad I just wait and watch the USPS employee scan the items in. It takes less than 5 minutes of my time. Also, I have a great rapport with the staff just by showing up in person and talking with them.
Same here. I always, always, always get a receipt! Long story but here goes: I used to use the scan sheet eBay provides but that bit me hard during the pandemic. I sell mostly books; I would drop off my shipment, have them scan the scan sheet and be on my way. But during the pandemic I started getting nasty messages from people saying I had not mailed them their books. When I checked, there was no scans from USPS showing they had taken possession of or processed many of the books they had scanned via the scan sheet. When I contacted USPS, they were quick to deny any negligence on their part. When I showed them the scan sheet, they shrugged and told me the scan sheet didn't prove anything. Delivery took weeks and weeks but most of the books did eventually get scanned somewhere along the way and make it to the buyers BUT by the time USPS got around to delivering them, eBay had already refunded the buyers their money because USPS had missed their delivery window. Guess how many buyers were honest and gave me back my money when they got their books? ZERO. There are soooo many instances where I was out the cost of the book, the book itself, the money from the sale, and the shipping! AND, I had to contact eBay over and over again to get strikes removed from my account because it looked like I had not shipped an item due to USPS not scanning things properly. That was a very long, expensive, nightmarish lesson I didn't have to be taught ever again! Now I have a receipt for every single item I mail off. The folks at the post office sometimes get a little snippy with me because I make their job a little more time consuming, but I could not care less. In fact, when I've come up against a particular nasty postman, I've reminded them that I could just come in there with only an address and make THEM print out shipping labels for every single package. (There is no Ebay postage discount on media rate items, so I don't save money by going through eBay instead of USPS.)
I get the receipt because I drop off at different post offices based on where I am. If something were to happen after you drop it off and they don’t scan it, then they won’t honor the insurance that comes with ground advantage. Scanning at the kiosk doesn’t count either, it has to be scanned by an employee
Yea, same. The post near me has gone days without scanning. The have you leave them on the counter by the door and have had stuff come up missing too many times. They wouldn’t give you the option to scan in. If it had pre paid postage they made you leave them. I started driving to the further one for a better experience. Having a good post office vs a bad one makes such a huge difference. Def worth the extra 10 min drive each way.
True, I’ve had horror stories several times in a short period of time at a P.O. near my mom. I mentioned their haphazardness at another P.O. of which the scanner was already aware + told me how to report them. I too drive miles… less headaches, and yeah, it’s worth it.
Hi Justin! I live about an hour down the road off 44. I also have a wonderful post office where I can just set my packages on the counter and run. Another RUclips reseller (Avante Avenue) just had an incident that she mentioned in her latest video where having a receipt from the post office likely saved her eBay store from getting a black mark. She uses Pirate Ship. I think she said that the tracking number for one of her shipments had already been used somehow, so none of the scans that the post office did for her package registered. She, of course, didn't know all this until days later. But, she had a receipt from the post office proving that she had actually shipped the package with the "used" tracking number that she was able to send to eBay. Love your videos, by the way. I always look forward to watching new ones. The St. Louis/Missouri link is fun too. :)
I needed this video, because you were taking directly to me! Thanks! I watched it yesterday, and followed your advice. Six items listed and cross listed. My goal was 5, so I have a bonus one. Lol . Five is such a reasonable number, and if I manage more, good for me!
I’m a new again reseller. I agree w/Justin from a previous video. I had already bought thank you stickers, etc., + leave a very nice massage for them before they get their item. Less than 2/3 of them offer feedback, even when they get a great item for a great accepted offer. I now see many comments that no feedback is more normal than not.
@@valeriesantos8178 I took Justin's advice and set up automatic buyer reviews when a buyer leaves me a review. If they don't and its been delivered for a few weeks, I go thru and give them good feedback anyways to hopefully trigger them to respond. Its worked a few times but it feels like a karma thing.
@@valeriesantos8178 Yes, I do the same, when I didn't include notes I would get feedback maybe 10% of the time, now it's more like 25-50% depending on the month. Still not great, but worth it since I'm starting from scratch again with a new store.
I don’t get why people don’t take a minute of time to leave a good feedback when they have gotten great service, personal attention in many cases etc. and the seller leaves feedback for them it’s just plain RUDE!
The more you talk the more enamored I am. You seem so forthright and genuine my brain can’t handle it. I have a question however it’s morally wrong (I think) simply because if people aren’t doing it there’s no reason to plant seeds. Keep it reel handsome ✌️
Getting receipts from USPS can sometimes be valuable. If a buyer states that a package arrived empty, it would help your case if you have a receipt from USPS. The receipt confirms the package weight and this provides some level of proof that the package was not shipped empty. I only require a receipt for high dollar items.
I am one who doesn't find motivation to list a lot on ebay. Cause I have a lot personally going on. So I take advantage of the ebay scheduler and draft feature and I think if you're a reseller with a family or you're busy doing other things like working part-time or a full-time job. I would take advantage of the scheduler. Over trying to post a certain amount of items every day cause to me the scheduler is the same thing. It's just you're not having to do it yourself every day. So, if you're able on 1 day to build out 50 or 100 listings it's better to schedule whatever number you like out of that per day over a week or 2. Putting your high price point items or high selling items up first. And your lower price and lo g tail items at the end. And that way it buys you time to schedule another day to pump out another 50to 100 listings and schedule them over another 1 to 2 weeks. That way, you're feeding eBay every day. That's what keeps the the algorithm sending you more traffic customers to your store, but you don't have to mentally sit down and do it every day. So I highly recommend if you have an issue with being able to list every day because of your life, work or family duties or just you just don't like the process. Use the scheduler and block it out over a week, 2 or even 3 weeks . If you're able to pump out a lot in 1 day. Though I understand your theory as it does help you develop structure by setting a schedule, we live in a busy busy time where people have to do more to survive and so it's not realistic to list physically everday so the sceduler simply takes that job away like a virtual assistant. But I think people need to understand the scheduler is simply buying you time. as I don't believe eBay algorithm really care the number of daily listing. It just wants to be fed every day so to me. Your maximizing you 50 to 100 listings or less over a week or 2 to buy time for yourselves. You can do other things like curate Inventory, photograph and measure for new listing and have some form of quality of life if you have a family and especially if you're a single person doing it alone, it's better to use a scheduler to meet the algorithms appetite and buy yourself time for other things.
I can honestly say i pushed myself to list almost everything I had of spare clothes in like the 1st month, 5-8 items on my good days just so I had a good amount listing by the time the holidays rolled in. And now, as my building is almost cleaned out, I don't have many items left to list and don't even have the money to thrift. So I am just waiting for things to sell. Large items are on marketplace. Got to look into other options with money already tight.
I dropped 3 items off at the post office last week and watched the person scan them in and they gave me a receipt. Later, I checked eBay and 2 of my packages showed they were shipped and the 3rd was asking me to still ship the item. Several hours later it was still saying this. I interacted with an actual eBay representative after getting nowhere with the AI and they were puzzled. I ended up being able to upload the tracking # on the receipt for that package and the next day it was in the system and showed where it was. Not sure what would have happened if I didn't have that receipt. It may have corrected itself at some point, but it had me worried.
Oh my goodness, what awesome content Justin. You shared so much valuable info and tips, which have really motivated me to be more disciplined with my Ebay business. God bless you.
Hey Justin, I completely agree with you about creating discipline over relying on motivation when it comes to listing. However, there are products and categories that I look forward to listing, like vintage electronics and hats. Do you have any products or categories you enjoy listing? And do you have any you loathe? For me it’s cloths, specifically shirts.
Still not convinced listing daily makes any difference, I have a store inventory listed similar to you - 1000 items up consistently, and 8 of the 10 days I have sold the most items / most value were times when i had not listed anything t all for 2-3 weeks beforehand. And when I do list consistently there is no marked jump in sales. Have enjoyed your videos, keep it up!
I have been super lucky with my post office. They have a self service machine where I can scan my packages. It spits out a receipt & I usually save it until I can see the packages are on their way. I’ve never had a problem. I DID have a problem with another PO where I used to leave packages & never got a receipt. Of course, the packages not “scanned” were jewelry pieces worth a good amount.
For my post office, I walk in the building and use the self checkout kiosk. There’s one in the entrance of the building, which is actually outside of the main door of the post office. I mainly scan the packages in just to guarantee on the tracking that the items were in fact dropped off to the post office. This basically leaves a trail that USPS is in possession of the package, so anything that might go wrong beyond this point is completely the post office’s responsibility. I wouldn’t want to risk just dropping my packages off without getting a receipt but that’s just me. I rip the receipt and throw it away as I leave, because eBay already has the tracking number when I print the label at home. If you have a self checkout kiosk at your post office, getting a receipt is super easy and convenient. It adds an immediate update to tracking once it’s scanned in, and that’s why I prefer to do it. 👍
I watch a lot of resellers, and I can’t think of one I’d call sketchy? 🤷🏼♀️ Maybe I just haven’t watched the sketch one yet. As far as receipts go, I’ve heard in some fb eBay groups about ppl claiming they’re receiving empty boxes from sellers on eBay.. but if you have the receipt, it shows the weight, and that the box wasn’t empty when you put it in the post offices hands. So- I print 2 packing slips, put one in with the order, and I staple my post office receipt to the other one and file it away. Kinda old school I guess, but it works for me. 😊
I really appreciate your thinking concerning answers to questions!! Is eBay's "ad to/create sale event" a good thing to do? There description was so complicated that i became afraid to try it! Does eBay charge more fees to have a sale event? Not meant to be a pain to you!?!
I like to get the scan at the post office to get the initial scan since I have 1 day handling. Depending on your handling time you may not need to wait and get it scanned as once they get to the hub they will get a scan. The issue comes up when the package misses a scan for a long time and you could get a late shipment defect on your ebay account. I only save the receipts until the package gets delivered just as a tactile way to follow up and check off that they have been delivered. If sales get super busy I will more than likely abandon this practice.
Same here I have to scan them in myself due to the one day handling, but technically if you print the label at home, eBay marks that as “item shipped”. So you’re basically good once you print the label but customer satisfaction plays a big roll on eBay so I still try to get it scanned in within that 1 business day lol
@@jessh444 the buyer sees its shipped but until you get a received scan by the shipping service it doesnt count for your shipping on time metrics. if you have 1 day handling and print the label on monday but dont actually drop it of til thursday you will get a late shipment ding
Good Advice 👍 14:02 i thought i was the only one with this problem, motivation 😢 - Guess its time to get myself into a routine that i can manage. Maybe I'll try 30min of taking pictures, watch some more videos 😊 then another hour to list since i have the photis ready
I always get a receipt because USPS has lost my packages before. It has happened three times this year, so the receipt is definitely helpful. Overall USPS will kick the can down the road on any claims. I hope others have better USPS service than my area!
QUESTION: Are the very cheap items you sell reduced price items to get them sold? What is your strategy with the very inexpensive items? I list some things for pretty cheaply, usually things I got for free but I feel like I'm wasting my time and energy to get rid of them when I could probably spend the time on higher value items. Thanks!
Yes I have used receipts in the past when a person claimed she hadn’t received one of 3 dresses sent in the same package. I keep receipts for couple of months and then throw them away.
I was told to keep post office receipts for proof of travel for taxes. Not sure if it's worth saving them for that or not. I have been but that's a lot of receipts!
Hi these have to be the most informative videos on this subject that I watched so far. I have one question because I think maybe I missed it, how do you calculate the sell through rate for items that you are trying to sell? Is that part of the program you are using, that flip wise program? I'm sure I have many more questions but that's the one at the front of my brain right now. Enjoying your videos thanks
I keep post office receipts to prove mileage for tax deductions. If I ever got audited, my business address to and from the post office address confirms what I write down in my mileage log.
I had to stop going to my nearest PO; 1 employee there had it in for me and would stop my packages and send a notice of insufficient postage. I filed a complaint but he continued to target me. Thankfully the PO still picks up at my house.
Hi Justin, how are you?, thanks a bunch for all your videos. Question for you, if I may, in your opinion, which one do you think the algorithm likes best, listing daily or scheduling listings? Many thanks.
Thanks again Justin - quick question/your thoughts please... I have an eBay store, and have registered as self-employed with the authorities for tax etc - should I/do I have to, register as a business seller on eBay? What are the advantages/disadvantages? Cheers Eddie
Hi Justin, thanks for the great content! With the option for buyers to see the reduced shipping cost…do you know if a buyer pays more shipping than ends up being due, does the buyer receive the overage $ back? Thank you
listing aggg,, my promise to myself was if I wanted to do this selling online thing I had to list daily so I did a minimum of 1 per day,, it worked as I surpassed that number so many times,,, before long I had over 900 listings selling 1-5 items per day,,, part-time was great for me as I am retired and have other interests,,,
Thanks for your great videos loving your channel. What do you think of the options eBay has to maximize your store, featured items, categories banners that link to sales or categories, newsletters, and such? Do you use them?
on the reseller ruler whats the best way to make one myself ? i sell clothes and hate measuring them so woondered best way to make one so i can include a photo of that in my pictures for the buyer
Hi there! New to your channel; it’s great and I’m glad I found you. Question: when keeping track of sales do you use the total sold or less fees and cost of goods since I will deduct it at tax time? I want to make sure I am doing it correctly. Thank you!
Hello to use your camera to list , I use Iphone how do i not send all ebay photos to cloud with all my wanted pictures dont want to save the ebay pics ? thanks for your help
Thanks for the videos! I always learn a lot. How much time and effort do you put into cleaning your inventory? Is it worth cleaning it up to "like new" condition or just a quick once over to remove the label adhesives and any any major dirty areas. Suggested cleaners? Thanks!
I was scammed at the post office; long story. But I did start waiting for a receipt. Now I have moved to standard pick-up, which I arrange via the USPS site for next day shipment. No chance of ( “It wasn’t me!”)
I used to have my mail carrier pick up packages from my home, but after probably 100 or so successful pickups, the one package that ends up getting lost is worth $70 😢
Last 2 weeks - Sun to Sat - combined were less than my average weekly gross. Today is almost double average for a day though. But I dont judge ebay on the weekly. It's a yearly thing - just need to list. Imagine that :D Thankful for every sale though.
Regarding repeat customers: I have a few. I do not do anything special. I ship quality merchandise at a fair price. I pack well and ship fast. Personally, I wouldn't be swayed by includions if I was buying I'd look at: does this shop have what I want at a price I'm willing to pay?
Love the videos! Keep up the great work! Do you happen to know of any updates coming to flipwise anytime soon? I love the program and can't wait to see its growth continue! I know you guys are working on it and no rush but can see some areas where some extra information would be helpful! Thanks again!
@@justinresells I really appreciate the quick response! I have some items that I sell for family members sometimes which then has sales data at that point on my account and then Flipwise wont let me delete this product from my regular listings due to that sales data. Might be a workaround but don't know for sure. I was also thinking just like the listings by source pie chart on the insights page that you could insert a number of sales per source location pie chart drop down option or something of the sort as well. (Sorry this is so long lol) Lastly, I would say possible hyperlinks attached to the sourcing locations on the insights page the sit next to the ROI bar scales so that people can click on them and they would send you to a separate page that shows you all related sales data specific to that store. Just a few thoughts, I know you most likely already got these suggestions and they aren't easy to implement! You guys are doing great with what you have so far an I know Flipwise is still growing and I am here for the Journey! Thanks again for being an awesome dude! :)
@@justinresells Huh, I replied a little bit ago but it doesn't look like it was saved from my end. Anyways. I'll try to sum it up a little bit better cause the last one was a bit long but I just want to preface by saying I know you guys are working your hardest everyday on this program and we all really appreciate it! So I do sell items for family members here and there and just split a cut with them to help them out a bit and when an item that I sold for them receives sales data from ebay to Flipwise, it wont let me delete that item off my flipwise sales section due to the sales data so if we could have the option to delete or even archive that sales data from the rest of the data until tax time that would be awesome! Another thought would be for example how you guys have the listings by store pie chart for that selected period of time on the insights page but it would be cool to have a dropdown that could switch the pie chart to how many items have sold for each different store! (I'm not doing a great job summing this up lol) Lastly, a hyperlink attached to each of the names of the stores that are shown by the ROI bar chart on the insights page which would send you to a page that shows similar sales data as the insights page (Maybe even a couple more specific pieces of data) for those different specific sourcing locations? Let me know if you have any other questions about my suggestions! You guys are doing great and can't wait to keep continuing this journey with Flipwise and my small ebay business! Thanks! :)
Thanks! We do not let you delete orders with active sales data, since that is needed for tax purposes. We will allow you to configure certain purchase locations to be ignored from the Insights page though. So if you sell personal stuff or a family member's stuff you can put that in a specific Purchase Location and mark that location to be ignored from Insights. Your suggestions for the Insights screen makes sense! I'll log those in our backlog.
I still binge list, but I save most of them in draft mode, and then release them on days I don't feel like listing. I have been putting up new listings every day since April 5th. But I don't create new ones every day. I keep a bank of listings in draft mode.
Im primarily media seller. I bought a lot of CDs (over 5,500) for $1500. I sorted the rap, '40s & '50s, and multi disc set to get listed first. The remaining 4000, I get enough to fill a small sterlite plastic drawer ~80ish, picture, price, list and thats ~6 hours each day before I go to local thrifties. Half way down.... FYI: Media sells super fast.
One thing to keep in mind when giving partial refunds is the fee structure surrounding this. You do not get a credit for fees when doing this, you also have to look at that when doing a partial refund if you sell an item for 500$ and take off 20-25% by the time it’s done depending on the catagory you went actually getting to keep 25% you’re keeping roughly 10-13%. By the time you factor in shipping and the issues with negative feedback it can cause more issues than it’s worth. Do the math before submitting and make sure to explain to the customer so when you’re fighting the negative feedback later with eBay you can cover yourself! Happened recently on a 800$ vintage Barbie I sold. Kinda had to learn some hard lessons on that one!!! Edit : I’m wrong on this. Ignore.
This piqued my interest so I just tested it. eBay does give you a credit for fees when doing a partial refund. "For eligible partial refunds, fee credits are proportional to the refund that the buyer receives." Source: www.ebay.com/help/selling/fees-credits-invoices/fee-credits?id=4128
@@justinresells yea looking back at it I see where I was wrong about this. You don’t get the fee credit until several days later once it’s final and a few days has passed I guess so if any changes are made. I guess when doing the refund I didn’t see a fee credit and that stuck with me. Well, sorry about that. Thanks.
hi! new follower to your channel! I don’t have room for a printer do you have any suggestions for thermal printers? also new seller to ebay been on mercari for over 2 years thank goodness i had my receipt from an item that was lost for an ebay order i need that now to try to get insurance pay out first time trying to figure all that out :/
Use things while there listed and then part with them wow - what happens when the plate breaks, the book gets marked? is it worth it? guess you just remove the listing, but with my luck it would have just sold prior.
Do you ever go sourcing on ebay itself? Buying lots of cameras/remotes etc and listing them yourself? I’m interested in getting more inventory and it seems like a decent way to get into it. I have been hovering around 300 items and wondering if you’d have any tips to grow my store while keeping a decent sell through rate on inventory. Thanks!
Hey Justin, really been enjoying your videos! I recently got into reselling on eBay mainly selling video games. I have a bunch of bubble mailers I use to ship them, so they're pretty easy to pack/ship. I find myself feeling hesitant to buy larger or more awkwardly shaped items because I don't have or know what box sizes to use for them and I wouldn't want to list them before I have what I need to ship them. Do you have any suggestions on how I should go about getting over this?
@@justinresells thank you. But what i mean is if you go to a ton of garage sales over the weekend and buy say 50 items or more, you might not remember what you paid for each item. Especially if it doesn't have a sticker etc
hi ive been using Flipwise for some time now and wanted to know if there was a away to select a bunch of listings and input a mass location instead of going in one by one
Justin I had an email from a buyer that bought a purse last April. And she said the leather fell off it was a Burberry and in perfect condition when I mailed it to her. She paid 135.00 and she said my 20.00 price was too high She said I should not have scam pictures as I had every inch of that purse on my pictures with no flaws. What do you make of this and shud I answer her. She did not ask for refund just yelling at me
I'm a comic seller on ebay, so just curious who you seem to keep purchasing from? Just for fun. Curious if this might be one of those "it's a small world" moments lol
I kind of enjoy it too because I know I'm unleashing an item from my money pile (what I use instead of the term "death pile") into the ebay-sphere to bring me back some cash! 🙂👍🏻💰
I have a question about your RUclips videos. Do you get paid more if someone allows the commercial ad to run in its entirety? What about if someone only let it run maybe 15 seconds out of the 30? Thank you I love your videos and I so appreciate you taking the time to help others.
Hey, with the printer ink, do you ever get veros? I've seen some people complaining about Veros but I picked up some genuine HP ink from my local walmart that was liquidating. Have you had any issues selling genuine branded ink or is it just the generic ones that can be taken down?
I have heard of people getting a vero for hp ink cartridges but someone else said as long as you turn off ship international on those you should be ok. Not sure how true that is but I have some listed and didn’t allow international shipping on them. They have been up for a couple of weeks, so far so good.
Hey Justin, I’ve been selling on eBay consistently for a few months now and have had over 100 sales. I’ve made a spreadsheet to track it all but can’t keep up. If I sign up for Flipwise now, can I import all of my past sales? Thanks so much for all of the insight! I look forward to watching your videos every week.
Yep, it will import the last two years of sales data from eBay. And we can import your spreadsheet so you don't have to re-enter your acquisition data, like purchase price.
Thanks for another great video Justin. I've just had my first negative feedback - the seller wanted a brand new copy of the item but bought my used/marked (all noted on pictures/description). My perfect feedback rating is now 99.6%. I only sell a couple of items daily, and only 50% of buyers leave feedback, so I'll likely have to wait 12 months before that negative review to disappear. Any suggestions how to speed up the process, or shall I just keep on doing what I'm doing which has worked welll and left me with fabulous feedback except for this one misrepresentation?
@@justinresells Thanks for the reply, I appreciate that I just have to roll with it. I've now upped my promoted and best offer listings in the hope that'll get sales up to right-size the negative!
That’s what I thought. Do you do anything on your state business portal? I was told you can go into the system and state that eBay handles it. Maybe Missouri is different than KY.
@@donicadigs For Missouri, my CPA files my LLC's sales tax obligation as $0 every year since eBay collects and remits it all on my behalf. KY may be different, so talk to a CPA.
And Kyrie is now playing with the young gun luka doncic with the Dallas Mavericks; he's like you Justin, the veteran who quietly does his thing and is super successful and good at it without having to brag about it - his results speak volumes and he lets others speak to his abilities.
I remember u basically saying, less is more as to messaging buyers. Are u at all concerned ab eBay rating u poorly on the percentage of ur ‘sales conversation rate’?
Am I missing something? There is a lot of talk about "promoted listings" but no steps on how to get there. Do you have to have a certain number of listings to see the option to "promote your listing"? I have 410 items (no store currently; may change that soon) and I don't see any option to promote my listing?? HELP ME TO FIGURE THIS OUT PLEASE! Love your videos I have binge watched while on sick leave..... thanks for all you do.
I just started a few weeks ago and I promote almost every item unless it’s in high demand. The option to promote is on every single listing at the bottom. You have to turn it on and type in your percentage that you want. And I don’t have a store.
I understand your reasons not to include things to get repeat customers. I wonder if any RUclips Resellers send advertisements for their channels to their customers? Would that be crazy? Could customers become a source of RUclips subscribers and viewers?
I don't think it would be worth it, personally. I average about 35K views per week, and the cost and effort to include channel advertisements for the 30-50 sales per week I do is unlikely to contribute much to overall growth.
Your videos are great!! Thanks for your work!! What is the very cool light in your video!! I like it!! I hate listing items too!! 😢 Hey was this a bad rule I broke? I set an item, it sold immediately in less than 15 mins! I began wondering why that had sold so fast. I actually thought I had marked it up high ($95). I thought maybe I should have looked it up more, so I did. I found out it has sold for $1500!! It's rare, I didn't know that much! So (possible rule breaking) I cancelled it's sale and the customer was fully repaid. I really didn't tell why actually, but the way low gain for me is why. The guy wasn't super happy but he didn't blow up. I feel guilty because I never told the full reason to eBay or the customer! It's ok to let me have it, if I did it wrong. Thanks again for your videos!
With the plates “we use them while they are listed” Really? Aren’t you worried about causing damage to the item? Are there other items that you have listed that you are currently using? Cha Ching! “Honey finish up eating that piece pie and and clean off that plate. We just sold it” 😅
Not really. These are used items anyway and are cleaned before shipping of course. If something were to get damaged we’d just delist and keep or donate.
@@justinresellsi think its the wear n tear that is being added from using the item would be an issue. More wear n tear decreases value but like a vehicle people will buy items that are being actively used but deserve to know if it is ate not imo.
The way I stay motivated to list is by thinking about this immortal phrase constantly:
"you don't sell 100% of the crap you don't list".
😂 Thx for the reminder!
BOOM
That's what's uppp
oh wait... that youuu Ronnie?
Justin, I think you have a great idea, suggesting that we viewers ask you questions. I, for one, am gaining more knowledge by listening to your answers. Also, I enjoy your format: questions and answers sprinkled throughout the video, interspersed with your top sales of the week. What a great way to handle both concepts, and to keep it interesting.
I echo your sentiment totally 🙂🏆👍🏻
😂😂😂
I always get the receipt. Approximately, 2 years ago eBay actually requested a proof of origin scan receipt in an item not received case involving a PSA graded card I sold ($120). The case ruled in my favor because I had it. USPS was on the hook for it. I was mad at eBay at first because the origin scan was in the tracking but they still requested a receipt. I'm glad I just wait and watch the USPS employee scan the items in. It takes less than 5 minutes of my time. Also, I have a great rapport with the staff just by showing up in person and talking with them.
I should mention I only keep the receipt for the return window. After that I throw it out.
Same here. I always, always, always get a receipt! Long story but here goes:
I used to use the scan sheet eBay provides but that bit me hard during the pandemic.
Ty for suggesting to end, research, update and relist on older listings. I have completed 6 and it has helped.
Thx much for the tip ab the scanner vs the kiosk bc I wanted to look into it… not anymore tho :)

I HAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYTE listing! Even with all the tricks & hacks it's a pain.
I include a thank you note. I’m not expecting repeat customers, but I’m hoping together good feedback since I’m just a beginner.
@@valeriesantos8178 "a very nice massage" -- that really is service! You might want to edit that!
I don’t get why people don’t take a minute of time to leave a good feedback when they have gotten great service, personal attention in many cases etc. and the seller leaves feedback for them it’s just plain RUDE!
The cymbal is pronounced zil’-jun Glad to help you with this little tidbit considering how much you help me! Thanks for having such a great channel!!
Good vid. I do like to keep my post office receipt for mileage proof probably not necessary, but I’m kind of nerdy on that stuff.
🤘Always great advice and the humor is great! 🤘
Oh my goodness, what awesome content Justin.
You shared so much valuable info and tips,
which have really motivated me to be more disciplined
with my Ebay business.
God bless you.
My post office is also reliable! I drop 10-20 packages off every week on the front counter and 100% have been scanned.
Same. In over 3000 packages my local post office has scanned all of them. I don't bother getting a receipt.
Me too ❤ 📬
Hey Justin, I completely agree with you about creating discipline over relying on motivation when it comes to listing.
😥
I get receipts to help prove not only that the item has been shipped but also as proof for mileage.
Maybe I just haven’t watched the sketch one yet.
My post office doesn't have a printer.

Glad to know about Mile IQ.
Great an advice on listing. Could apply to everyday life. 👍
Justin.. good job man your videos are really good and inspiring thanks for sharing!
I had an issue with a ups order, the receipt was helpful
😮
Goodness, such a vicious worker at your Post Office to make you go through that stress.

(Sorry this is so long lol)
Lastly, I would say possible hyperlinks attached to the sourcing locations on the insights page the sit next to the ROI bar scales so that people can click on them and they would send you to a separate page that shows you all related sales data specific to that store.
(I'm not doing a great job summing this up lol)
Lastly, a hyperlink attached to each of the names of the stores that are shown by the ROI bar chart on the insights page which would send you to a page that shows similar sales data as the insights page (Maybe even a couple more specific pieces of data) for those different specific sourcing locations?
Let me know if you have any other questions about my suggestions! You guys are doing great and can't wait to keep continuing this journey with Flipwise and my small ebay business! Thanks! :)
Thanks! We do not let you delete orders with active sales data, since that is needed for tax purposes. We will allow you to configure certain purchase locations to be ignored from the Insights page though. So if you sell personal stuff or a family member's stuff you can put that in a specific Purchase Location and mark that location to be ignored from Insights.
Your suggestions for the Insights screen makes sense! I'll log those in our backlog.
@@justinresells that’d be sweet! Thanks for the quick responses! Great work! Can’t wait to see what the future holds! :)
I still binge list, but I save most of them in draft mode, and then release them on days I don't feel like listing. I have been putting up new listings every day since April 5th. But I don't create new ones every day. I keep a bank of listings in draft mode.
That’s a great plan and is my goal (to have a bank of drafts as a cushion)- impressive! 👏🏼
Is their any advantage to same day shipping vs 1 day. Thanks . Appreciate your videos.
Thanks.

Maybe I'm the only person who finds listing to be the most consistently enjoyable part of eBay selling?
I kind of enjoy it too because I know I'm unleashing an item from my money pile (what I use instead of the term "death pile") into the ebay-sphere to bring me back some cash! 🙂👍🏻💰
I have a question about your RUclips videos. Do you get paid more if someone allows the commercial ad to run in its entirety? What about if someone only let it run maybe 15 seconds out of the 30? Thank you I love your videos and I so appreciate you taking the time to help others.
I don't think I get paid more if you watch more/all of the ad, no. but thank you for your support :)
@@staciemj74 thank you!
@@justinresells Thanks! I’m going to sign up.
Question, do we have to have an auctioneer license to sell auctions on eBay?
Nope.
Will Flipwise be available for other reselling platforms? Specifically Etsy. Thanks!
yep!
Don't sweat it. It won't impact your business in any meaningful way. I get a few negative feedbacks every year! Can't make everyone happy.
@@justinresells Thanks for the reply, I appreciate that I just have to roll with it. I've now upped my promoted and best offer listings in the hope that'll get sales up to right-size the negative!
How did you ship the cymbal for under $9? Thank you immensely,
Ground Advantage to Texas, so distance was minimal.
Thanks, I’m getting killed on shipping costs left and right. I just started printed labels through the eBay platform.
How do you handle sales tax?
What I mean was, what do you do with the sales tax from the sales in your state?
eBay handles it for you.
And Kyrie is now playing with the young gun luka doncic with the Dallas Mavericks; he's like you Justin, the veteran who quietly does his thing and is super successful and good at it without having to brag about it - his results speak volumes and he lets others speak to his abilities.
i keep my usps receipts just cuz i like to. I also have them emailed
I remember u basically saying, less is more as to messaging buyers. Are u at all concerned ab eBay rating u poorly on the percentage of ur ‘sales conversation rate’?
Utah Jazz da best
I tell myself Get the listings for the day done and go do other ebay stuff! lol.
I believe promoted listings are only offered if you have a store.
I just started a few weeks ago and I promote almost every item unless it’s in high demand. The option to promote is on every single listing at the bottom. You have to turn it on and type in your percentage that you want. And I don’t have a store.
You don’t need a store. It’s offered towards the end of your listing . It suggests an ad rate and you can modify the percentage. I usually do 2%.
How do I find you on Ebay?
there's a link on my youtube about page
@@justinresells I looked there and couldn't find it.
@justinresells I found it.

I understand your reasons not to include things to get repeat customers. I wonder if any RUclips Resellers send advertisements for their channels to their customers? Would that be crazy? Could customers become a source of RUclips subscribers and viewers?
They definitely do include info about their YT and other platforms.
I don't think it would be worth it, personally. I average about 35K views per week, and the cost and effort to include channel advertisements for the 30-50 sales per week I do is unlikely to contribute much to overall growth.
@justinresells Thank you for researching that concise reply. I appreciate that!
East coast west coast 🤣🤣 you tuned in to that biggie pac beef huh🤣
Awesome video
Ty for the vid
Your videos are great!! Thanks for your work!! What is the very cool light in your video!! I like it!!
I hate listing items too!! 😢
Hey was this a bad rule I broke?
Question: what is the fastest way to get followers?
With the plates “we use them while they are listed” Really? Aren’t you worried about causing damage to the item? Are there other items that you have listed that you are currently using? Cha Ching! “Honey finish up eating that piece pie and and clean off that plate. We just sold it” 😅
Yeah gross LOL
@justinresells I do the same. It's already used.
@@adownlans4162you do realize it’s already been used, right?
