I learned a trick for finding the right pin location on the key. Take a blank key, use a candle and smoke the key until black. Then put it in the key in the cylinder and twist back and forth a few times. Take it out and it should show you the pin location. Then you can file down each point.
Nice job, but don’t you wish that they’d make key files with a trapezoidal profile?I mean, yeah a file with a triangular profile will work for locks that use keys which have narrow cuts like Schlage, but when it comes to ones with wide cuts(Like Kwikset and the Ford 5 cut locks(H50,H51)), the pins won’t sit properly .
Good job, but you should not use the pippin file for that, that file is only used for printing, in your case you can use any other file that allows you to lower the key.

You can just use a marker too if you want to do it that way
