Nice iconic spot, quiet in the day and kinda vibrant on the nights, :) also the park nearby deserve a visit. I loved the wool and tea+cakes "concept" shop, the White horse Hotel offers nice club-sandwitches, the decoration of the windows inside of the church are nice as well. the pond is kinda chillin', the guy from the sportswear shop were nice and friendly. Playing darts in the local shops was as well nice.
Grew up here in 70s 80s and 90s. Apart from the actual shops the old place hasn’t changed that much really. 1:42 my old barber shop was on the left. The Christian Centre hasn’t changed at all 2:59. 3:31 that empty shop unit on Pump Corner has been cursed forever
Post office same place, as is Dorking Models, also KFC and the BP? station... just like the 80's )) Also the White Horse Hotel.... didn't see Sainsbury's but sure also hasn't moved... lived as a kid Dorking 1982 to 1992.
@@lenkapenka6976 it amazes me Dorking models has survived!! Also the wimpy! The (now) posh folk of Dorking must love it. You must remember the amazing Christmas lights. With the Santas sleigh across from Woolworths to the White Horse. Allegedly they were ex-Regent St
@@OlafProt Yes, Pump corner used to have as I recall a camera shop at one time back in the 80's. I lived right at the bottom of West Street where the road divided to go to Dorking Town Station (also closed!) so just 5 minutes from the centre. You of course recall Dorking had *3* Railways stations!!! Dorking North (I think now renamed just Dorking), Dorking Town and Deepdene. They were great carefree days!
@@lenkapenka6976 I think KFC had been there since the 1960s. Dorking Models has been there for a long time too. The King's Arms has changed a bit since Major Scarf's time.
