- How to change the location of just one library or all libraries in Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol and Native Access.
This tutorial looks at two scenarios.
MOVE ALL LIBRARIES
Let's say you have a new SSD drive and would like to shift all your content to this faster drive. This is very simple to do in Native Access.
MOVE A FEW LIBRARIES
Maybe you have a nice quick NVMe drive. You may not have the space to store your entire library on there but would like to move a few of your key go to plugins to this quick location.
NOTE: This is probably not the official way to do this but it works, and it's quick. If there's a better way to do this, it doesn't seem too obvious.

Thx !! I used preset folder on installation for contents.. big mistake the folder didn’t exist. I then stated trying to move folders which weren’t there, deleted folders / created folders etc 😫
Decided to call it a day and restart next morning with a fresh mind.
Next day reinstalled the contents files by selecting a hard drive location as you said... better way to do it so glad that happened. Everything from Komplete select 13 installed now.

may I ask what you find to be a good external hard drive ? . I haven't got maschine mk3 yet, but plan on using an ext. drive for download location and content location. I use a MacBook pro - Thanks for any suggestions . btw helpful video , who would think there would be a drop down box in repair that you would have to use to complete what you were doing .

I came here because on my mac when moving the libraries from their assigned default location to an external drive were automatically copied. As a tech noob I wasn't sure if by deleting them from their previous location would somehow affect the file. But as you said that I could change the name or delete it, I became more sure of it. So...thanks.

I need some help since I installed the komplete bundle my CPU is running low that's because I've installed everything to my c partition and this c has only 250 GB and I have the d partition which has 900 GB I've heard you should not change the c folder for the plugins but how can I install it without loosing projects I've already made with komplete 13 and how to do everything I need a step for step explanation please

so you can't have your sounds on a separate drive until the are downloaded on your system (C) drive and then you can delete them from there?
Robert Marrero, Thank you for your video but here is my situation. I had to format my iMac so I transfer all my information to an external H.D. which is 4 TB. Now when I open Native Access it's telling me that all of my N..I is not installed, so I tried to install it and now it's telling me that I need to free 177 GB and I have a 1 TB in my iMac. I only have 891.04 space left.. So I tried to do what you said on your video but it does not work. Yes I tried to move the libraries on to the 4TB but it's not doing it. Can you help please.
you renamed the Gentleman in the F drive so it wouldn't read it as a duplicate? what if you don't want it in F anymore (or your system drive) can you delete it after the move?

First of all you need to copy / move your data to an external disk, for example, and THEN change the path in NI Access... right?
Unfortunately I can't find my existing data (content) anymore :-(
I should use an External SSD or external HD - how slow do they load? Won't a 5,400 - 7200 HD make too much noise?
better using an ssd because of the size of the data transferring across, some vsts and plugins may be too big. The Samsung T5s are a good place to start.

moving it will remove it altogether from the initial list.. how will native access know to repair what is now missing ?
Another thing to be aware of when moving files is that file and folder permissions will be moved also (not so when copying!). This can cause issues on another system.

Ho bisogno di una dritta. Con native access da pc window se carico le librerie di rettamente su ssd esterno non carica e mi da segnale di errore. Ho provato dia modificando le preferences sia con locate variando la destinazione.
Nessun problema invece se carico prima su hd del pc poi rialloco. Ma naturalmente non posso fare sempre così per librerie molto corpose. Può aiutarmi? Grazie
bro my maschine have the folders and its already scan them but its not showing on the device it self
I'm doing this... but it's saying "the content location is invalid", but it's the correct folder. I moved everything at once and it found all but 5 libraries and it won't let me relocate them. And I tried moving them back... now it doesn't work. Any advice?
Just wondering if you figured this out? My new Macbook Pro 1TB is maxed due to my NI VST's. Just wondering if I move them all at once as suggested if there is anything I should be aware of? Appreciate your help.
Doesn't work. A file with the suffix nkx that's larger than 2 gigs won't move. I tried through the application. And it doesn't work there either.
Should convert hard drive from mbr to gpt I assume
