In this video, I show you how to replace a Toyota/ Scion key fob battery. If you find that your key fob doesn't work all the time, or that you need to be really close to your car, it's probably time to change the battery.
Fortunately, it's an easy DIY and the batteries are inexpensive. Toyota used this style of key fob for many of their vehicles, so hopefully this video helps you!

Ive only waited 6 months after my fob stopped working to search for a video like this 😂. It’s been hell walking back to the car with groceries and having to manually pop the trunk from the inside, after manually having to unlock your car. Learning so much during quarantine. Thanks dude!
Same I waited about a year to replace my two and then Justin’s video help because it was hard to pop that inside part off even using a mini screwdriver in the tab. I am thankful for this video.

Should I remove the battery of a second keyfob? I'm just gonna keep it locked in a drawer as a backup just in case that I damage the other one.

I tried to change mine, after changing Acura, Honda, and Mazda fobs. This is a really crappy thing as I opened it at the store and all small buttons fell on the floor and the module says nothing about opening it.

So I just bought a 2008 528i. It only came with one key fob. Where tf can I get another one just in case
You will have to go to the dealership unless you can findsomeone locally who can program a new one

Yeah, replacing the key battery is a pain if you have an E46 BMW...
Damn. They had two different keys for the E90. One had a regular coin batter like this. The other had a rechargable battery and if it died you had to replace the whole key
