I think there is always a misconception in the general public of “my God” vs “your God”. What Sikhism preaches is, whether Sikh Muslim or Hindu, there is one God. I’m a Sikh, but if someone told me to preach Allah, I will do it bc whether I say Waheguru or Allah, I’m preaching to the same Supreme Being, God. As for worshipping the Guru Granth Sahib, we don’t necessarily worship it, we pay respect by bowing down. It is our Guru who teaches us, so we must show respect.

It's also important to remember Guru Nanak was not allowed in Mecca as he wasn't a Muslim When Guru Nanal visted many places he also visited as I said, but was forced to stay outside of Mecca whereas his companion is Mardana was allowed in. This is significant because this shows the attitude of Muslims during his lifetime who definitely did not consider Guru Nanak to be a Muslim. I would respectfilly request Dr Zakir Naik to check the facts again without bias.
Guru Nanak was allowed in Mecca because it was under control of the Turkish Ottoman Empire at the time. They believed exposure to Islam was a good thing. Now Saudi Arabia controls Mecca. Probably in this day and age Guru Nanak wouldn't be allowed in.

There's major diifferences between a Muslim and Guru Nanak: Guru Nanak used music called Kirtan , in such a major way but that is taboo in Islam and in fact music is considered the work of the devil in Islam . However musical accompliment is the chief method in Sikhism to focus on God. Also every Muslim has to go for Hajj to Mecca not to the Golden Temple. Also the repetition of the name called a mantra Waheguru is is a major formula too in the Sikh religion whereas in Islam it's merely the recitation of the Holy Quran. Essentially Guru Nanak ji could not have been a Muslim but had similar parallel ideas to get to the one God.

Guru Nanak if he believed in One God without associating partners, then He could be called as Muslim but still thoughts do differ with Islam when it comes to additional thoughts and practices. But what is an organized religion to God, Who is willing to turn whole temples & towns towards His beloved devotees and perform miracles for them? It’s easier to scale Mt. Everest or invade a superpower nation than to conquer one’s lust, pride & religious chauvinism. It’s not easy to be a lover of God without His own Pleasure & Grace. Another point to note is that: in Islam, God is not omnipresent, but He is rather High Up. But in Sikhism, God is omnipresent & panentheistic, that all of Creation is within God and is permeated by Him, like the 6th element, intimately. Imagine a baby in the womb: the baby, the tubes, the water, the wall lining of the womb - all are made up of the mother herself, but here, the mother and all these are composed of the same 5 elements. But God is like the 6th element in everything and everyone, yet unaffected by anything and any anyone. So He transcends His creation at the same time. It’s like He is in all, yet no one specifically is Him to be born & confined in the flesh. This difference in perceiving God is probably what took place between the Qazi & Guru Sahib, thus resulting in enlightening the Hajjis. As answered earlier by someone else, the whole ‘Mecca revolved’ means Guru Sahib had woken the Hajjis up from their slumber and mistaken belief, and people could get hyped up when shaken out of their comfort zone. They realized that Sri Guru Nanak Sahib was no ordinary holyman, but someone on a truly divine mission to reveal & refresh Benevolent God’s message to mankind. So they asked him what did his book of revelations (i.e. what does God have to) say as to who was greater: Hindu or Muslim? And his answer hit home in their hearts, humbling them, by saying that: “Without good deeds, both will regret and repent. By merely being a Hindu or a Muslim is not acceptable to God in His Court, for external religion of belonging to a particular creed is akin to the temporary color of a flower that does not last. And to indulge in such strife of religious chauvinism is to follow (or fall bait to) the ways of Satan.” So, as misunderstood by many Muslim brothers & sisters, Guru Sahib didn't embrace Islam, the organized religion. Rather came to wake up Muslims of Mecca to true Islam i.e. true devotion & surrender to God’s Will in every moment of life that was irrespective of or beyond the religiosity & rituals of the organized religion that was Islam - the same way he had gone to wake up other religious groups in the heart of their own holy lands. So, disguising himself as a Muslim just to get into Mecca in the first place, doesn't mean he became Muslim. And had he become Muslim, why would he insult Islam and Prophet Muhammad by founding a new religion? Bhai Gurdas Ji says Sri Guru Nanak Sahib was the Divine Light enlightening the whole world. That he was ‘victorious’ in Mecca. He was like the lion whose roar scattered away the deer of doubts. And was revered by Hindus & Muslims alike, wherever he went.

True but as sikhs, honestly i feel like allt of sikhs have strayed away from the message, and have started worshiping guru granth sahib itself, rather than reading and implementing? Guru granth sahib is worshipped, which is against the core sikh beliefs, i feel like sikhism has faced alot of corruption within the relgion, and this is coming from a sikh, i view many of my relatives behave this way. Sikhism is connecting with god, and no one except you can connect urself with god. Meditate upon the name of god, the true, eternal, formless, timeless one god, remember god in your dark phases and remember god in your happy phases. Never follow god for selfish needs, follow god for the love of god. Is what sikhism truly preeches.
SIkhism isn't deviating from its teachings. The reason that the Guru Granth Sahib is worshiped because Guru Gobind Singh passed on the spiritual mantle of the Guruship to the Guru Granth Sahib. And He passed the physical mantle of the Guruship to his "5 Beloved Sikhs" or the Khalsa which has grown to include millions of people. The Sikhs workship the Guru Granth and the Khalsa as a spiritual and temporal (concept of "Miri Piri"), in that order, manifestation of the Guru.
You are correct. There is no point in saying "Guru Nanak didn't say Sikh's should worship the GGS Ji"... when it was Guru Gobind Singh Ji who said this. This shows the weakness in Islam. They are desperate for people to believe Guru Nanak Ji was muslim. Guru Nanak's history has been written. He went to Mecca, but didn't complete the Hajj. He never said Sikhs should go to Hajj. He went to Hindu sacred places, and Buddhist sacred places. Dr Zakir is basing his assumptions on Guru Nanak Ji being muslim based on reading the GGS Ji... but the GGS Ji was authored by Guru Arjan Ji. There are a million reasons why Guru Nanak was not muslim.... but based on my interactions with muslim people, i wont waste any more of my time trying to explain it.

Muhammad Amir Guru ji clearly states he is not Muslim nor is he Hindu. He was above ritualistic institutional religions that had lost their ways. Guru ji Di no believe in any rituals, fasting nor pilgrimages. Both of which Hindu and Muslims do. Sikhs are not forbidden from these, but we’re enlightened by the gurus knowledge that such practices are not necessary for spiritual liberation/ seeking the creator. The guru ji was a person of god, who is not subject to labels. He was a Sikh, because he was here to tell all people to learn, in order to learn you have to question, which most other faiths frown on.

Other than islam Sikh are the very kind and generous people for me some people might have different opinions but every Sikh I met was very respectful that says alot about them.
I love my Sikh brothers and sisters. In Kenyan our next door neighbours of 50 years were Sikh. The same family lived next door to my grandfather too. My father grow up with same Sikh family’s children back in the late 1960s. The second generations of both families made they independent way to Britain back in the mid 1980’s. I want to both primary, secondly school and college with British Sikhs. The Sikh cultural values family first. I have been to Sikh weddings over the years too. The whole community comes together for the big day. They al so have a worrier culture and history of warfare against the British empire and Muslims rules of south Asian historical. The world needs to remember the 1984 Anti-Sikh Riots which took place in India after the assassination of Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and sikh genocide. Because it was Genocide which is still down played by the Indian Government to this day. (And yes I am East African Muslim but a human, who puts my humanity first) In sh allah Khalistan independence. CORRECTION: Guru Gobind Singh ji has said: "SAB SIKKHAN KO HUKUM H, GURU MANEYO GRANT" which means to follow the SHRI GURU GRANT SAHIB and all the ten gurus are considered as one soul so guru nanak dev ji do command to follow Shri guru granth sahib ji!

Circumcision does not make one Muslim it is a sunnah (action of Holy Prophet PBUH) to do so. Believe in Shahadah is what makes u Muslim this means Believing in the oneness of Allah and Holy Prophet PBUH as His Last Messenger. I think there is always a misconception in the general public of “my God” vs “your God”. What Sikhism preaches is, whether Sikh Muslim or Hindu, there is one God. I’m a Sikh, but if someone told me to preach Allah, I will do it bc whether I say Waheguru or Allah, I’m preaching to the same Supreme Being, God.
As for worshipping the Guru Granth Sahib, we don’t necessarily worship it, we pay respect by bowing down. It is our Guru who teaches us, so we must show respect.

It's also important to remember Guru Nanak was not allowed in Mecca as he wasn't a Muslim When Guru Nanal visted many places he also visited as I said, but was forced to stay outside of Mecca whereas his companion is Mardana was allowed in.
This is significant because this shows the attitude of Muslims during his lifetime who definitely did not consider Guru Nanak to be a Muslim.

Guru Nanak was allowed in Mecca because it was under control of the Turkish Ottoman Empire at the time. They believed exposure to Islam was a good thing. Now Saudi Arabia controls Mecca. Probably in this day and age Guru Nanak wouldn't be allowed in.
Guru Nanak's aim was to unite hindus and muslims under one umbrella called Sikhism.
Sikhism's pioneer were both hindus and muslims.

There's major diifferences between a Muslim and Guru Nanak:
Guru Nanak used music called Kirtan , in such a major way but that is taboo in Islam and in fact music is considered the work of the devil in Islam .
However musical accompliment is the chief method in Sikhism to focus on God.
Also every Muslim has to go for Hajj to Mecca not to the Golden Temple.
Also the repetition of the name called a mantra Waheguru is is a major formula too in the Sikh religion whereas in Islam it's merely the recitation of the Holy Quran.
Essentially Guru Nanak ji could not have been a Muslim but had similar parallel ideas to get to the one God.
My Dear Brother.. I absolutely agree with you. Guru Nanak if he believed in One God without associating partners, then He could be called as Muslim but still thoughts do differ with Islam when it comes to additional thoughts and practices.
Islam is submission to one God with his whole will. Other things don't matter. Do not associate partners with God. He does not have a son nor is He is a father. He is the Creator, destroyer and the One who maintains this universe.
A Muslim is still a Muslim if he is musician. It's just that how much of a Muslim one can be. A Good one, A Bad one.. it depends.

Guru ji clearly stated he was not Muslim nor Hindu. He was here to get institutional religious believers back on track - Hindu and Muslim. Guru ji did not believe in rituals which include fasting and pilgrimages which both these religions promote. Here is a piece wrote by another brother which clearly demonstrates to some extent what guru ji was here for as a universal guru of enlightenment for all people of all faiths, but in particular the purpose of his Mecca trip: Pilgrimages to holy places of worship mean a lot to people. Those who make it find solace in the idea that they have somehow sanctified themselves in some way or measure. To Sri Guru Nanak Sahib this is self-delusion, because real pilgrimage is always within; while external ones only fill oneself with pride and a false sense of physical & spiritual achievement.
Accomplishments of the external world is insignificant compared to inner achievements in character. We have a tendency to run away from our inner demons, where the real game & battle is, while pretentiously diverting and focusing our energy on external accomplishments of performing pilgrimages & charities. We run away from ourselves. As religionsits, we like to make big show of our religiosity & religion. But what is an organized religion to God, Who is willing to turn whole temples & towns towards His beloved devotees and perform miracles for them? It’s easier to scale Mt. Everest or invade a superpower nation than to conquer one’s lust, pride & religious chauvinism. It’s not easy to be a lover of God without His own Pleasure & Grace.
Another point to note is that: in Islam, God is not omnipresent, but He is rather High Up. But in Sikhism, God is omnipresent & panentheistic, that all of Creation is within God and is permeated by Him, like the 6th element, intimately. Imagine a baby in the womb: the baby, the tubes, the water, the wall lining of the womb - all are made up of the mother herself, but here, the mother and all these are composed of the same 5 elements. But God is like the 6th element in everything and everyone, yet unaffected by anything and any anyone. So He transcends His creation at the same time. It’s like He is in all, yet no one specifically is Him to be born & confined in the flesh. This difference in perceiving God is probably what took place between the Qazi & Guru Sahib, thus resulting in enlightening the Hajjis.
As answered earlier by someone else, the whole ‘Mecca revolved’ means Guru Sahib had woken the Hajjis up from their slumber and mistaken belief, and people could get hyped up when shaken out of their comfort zone. They realized that Sri Guru Nanak Sahib was no ordinary holyman, but someone on a truly divine mission to reveal & refresh Benevolent God’s message to mankind. So they asked him what did his book of revelations (i.e. what does God have to) say as to who was greater: Hindu or Muslim? And his answer hit home in their hearts, humbling them, by saying that: “Without good deeds, both will regret and repent. By merely being a Hindu or a Muslim is not acceptable to God in His Court, for external religion of belonging to a particular creed is akin to the temporary color of a flower that does not last. And to indulge in such strife of religious chauvinism is to follow (or fall bait to) the ways of Satan.”
So, as misunderstood by many Muslim brothers & sisters, Guru Sahib didn't embrace Islam, the organized religion. Rather came to wake up Muslims of Mecca to true Islam i.e. true devotion & surrender to God’s Will in every moment of life that was irrespective of or beyond the religiosity & rituals of the organized religion that was Islam - the same way he had gone to wake up other religious groups in the heart of their own holy lands.
So, disguising himself as a Muslim just to get into Mecca in the first place, doesn't mean he became Muslim. And had he become Muslim, why would he insult Islam and Prophet Muhammad by founding a new religion?
Bhai Gurdas Ji says Sri Guru Nanak Sahib was the Divine Light enlightening the whole world. That he was ‘victorious’ in Mecca. He was like the lion whose roar scattered away the deer of doubts. And was revered by Hindus & Muslims alike, wherever he went.

Guru granth sahib is worshipped, which is against the core sikh beliefs, i feel like sikhism has faced alot of corruption within the relgion, and this is coming from a sikh, i view many of my relatives behave this way. Sikhism is connecting with god, and no one except you can connect urself with god. SIkhism isn't deviating from its teachings. The reason that the Guru Granth Sahib is worshiped because Guru Gobind Singh passed on the spiritual mantle of the Guruship to the Guru Granth Sahib. And He passed the physical mantle of the Guruship to his "5 Beloved Sikhs" or the Khalsa which has grown to include millions of people. The Sikhs workship the Guru Granth and the Khalsa as a spiritual and temporal (concept of "Miri Piri"), in that order, manifestation of the Guru.
So what's about scripts as quoted by zakir nayak?
You are correct. There is no point in saying "Guru Nanak didn't say Sikh's should worship the GGS Ji"... when it was Guru Gobind Singh Ji who said this. This shows the weakness in Islam. They are desperate for people to believe Guru Nanak Ji was muslim. Guru Nanak's history has been written. He went to Mecca, but didn't complete the Hajj. He never said Sikhs should go to Hajj. He went to Hindu sacred places, and Buddhist sacred places. Dr Zakir is basing his assumptions on Guru Nanak Ji being muslim based on reading the GGS Ji... but the GGS Ji was authored by Guru Arjan Ji. There are a million reasons why Guru Nanak was not muslim.... but based on my interactions with muslim people, i wont waste any more of my time trying to explain it.

Muhammad Amir Guru ji clearly states he is not Muslim nor is he Hindu. He was above ritualistic institutional religions that had lost their ways. Guru ji Di no believe in any rituals, fasting nor pilgrimages. Both of which Hindu and Muslims do. Sikhs are not forbidden from these, but we’re enlightened by the gurus knowledge that such practices are not necessary for spiritual liberation/ seeking the creator. The guru ji was a person of god, who is not subject to labels. He was a Sikh, because he was here to tell all people to learn, in order to learn you have to question, which most other faiths frown on.

Other than islam Sikh are the very kind and generous people for me some people might have different opinions but every Sikh I met was very respectful that says alot about them.
I love my Sikh brothers and sisters. In Kenyan our next door neighbours of 50 years were Sikh. The same family lived next door to my grandfather too. My father grow up with same Sikh family’s children back in the late 1960s.
The second generations of both families made they independent way to Britain back in the mid 1980’s.
I want to both primary,
secondly school and college with British Sikhs.
The Sikh cultural values family first.
I have been to Sikh weddings over the years too. The whole community comes together for the big day.
They al so have a worrier culture and history of warfare against the British empire and Muslims rules of south Asian historical.
The world needs to remember the 1984 Anti-Sikh Riots which took place in India after the assassination of Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and sikh genocide. Because it was Genocide which is still down played by the Indian Government to this day.

Though Jesus is mentioned by name in twenty-five places in the quran he is also addressed with respect as:"ibne Maryam" - Son of Mary; as Masih (Heb) Messiah - translated as Christ; "Abd-ullah" servant of Allah; "rasul -ullah" - messenger of Allah.
*He is spoken of as "THE WORD of GOD", as "THE SPIRIT OF of GOD", as a "SIGN of GOD", and numerous other epithets of honour spread over fifteen different chapters.* the quran honours this mighty messenger of GOD, and the Muslims have not fallen short over the past fourteen hundred years i doing the same. there is not a single disparaging remark in the entire quran to which even the most jaundiced among the Christians can take exception.
*If Jesus was spoken in quran as "THE WORD of GOD" and as "THE SPIRIT of GOD" then there is no need for further discussion or any need for asking any questions because these two statements make Jesus automatically GOD.* Because no man can get this title of "WORD of GOD" and "SPIRIT of GOD." These are titles of GOD and calling an ordinary man "WORD of GOD" and "SPIRIT of GOD amounts to BLASPHEMY.
When we look in the Most HOLY BIBLE we see that Jesus was called the "WORD OF GOD" in the MOST HOLY BIBLE too.
Word of God means very words of God that was spoken by God. God spoke and created heaven and earth. God spoke and mighty things happened.
In the Quran, we see that Jesus was spoken as "His WORD" and "a SPIRIT proceeding from Him." As we read further: -

*Sura ****4:17****1*
O People of the Book! Commit no excesses in your religion: Nor say of Allah aught but the truth. Christ Jesus the Son of Mary was (no more than) a Messenger of Allah, and His WORD, which He bestowed on Mary, and a SPIRIT proceeding from Him: so believe in Allah and His messengers. Say not "Three (Trinity)" : desist: it will be better for you: for Allah is One God. Glory be to Him: (far exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belong all things in the heavens and on earth. And enough is Allah as a Disposer of affairs
The first part of Sura says that, "Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) a messenger of Allah, and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary, and a Spirit proceeding from Him:" Jesus is called here, "His WORD" and the MOST HOLY BIBLE says the same thing.
*_"In the beginning was the WORD, and the WORD was with GOD, and the WORD was GOD"_*.
*He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.*
*John 1:4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.( John 1:1-4)*
*Jesus is called the "WORD" (Logos) in Greek here. And Logos was used for GOD. John declares that in the beginning Logos existed, He was with GOD and Logos was GOD. This shows the complex nature of GOD. Jesus is none other than GOD Himself. And by declaring this John said that, Jesus is the eternal GOD who was from the beginning and He came down in the form of human flesh.*
And Holy Spirit is the Spirit of GOD. If you read the whole Bible you can see that Holy Spirit is the Spirit of GOD. The very first chapter of the Bible says about the Spirit of GOD. "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of GOD was hovering over the face of the waters." (Genesis 1:1-2)

2. His WORD (Jesus as we see that GOD spoke to His prophets and His people from the beginning of the world).

Then will Allah say: "O Jesus the Son of Mary! Recount My favor to thee and to thy Mother. Behold! I strengthened thee with the Holy Spirit, so that thou didst speak to the people in childhood and in maturity. Behold! I taught thee the Book and Wisdom, the Torah and the Gospel. And behold! thou makest out of clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, by My leave, and thou breathest into it and it becometh a bird by My leave, and thou healest those born blind, and the lepers, by My leave. And behold! thou bringest forth the dead by My leave. And behold! I did restrain the Children of Israel from (violence to) thee when thou didst show them the Clear Signs, and the unbelievers among them said: 'This is nothing but evident magic.'
This verse also says that, GOD has a Spirit... So the fact is, if GOD has a SPIRIT and God has a WORD, then He is a TRIUNE GOD.
And Quran says that, "Jesus is the Sign of GOD". And the Most HOLY BIBLE says the same thing.
Isaiah the PROPHET prophesied more than 700 years before the birth of Jesus Christ, that GOD will give a sign as we read in Isaiah 7:14, *_"Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the Virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel."_*
*Isaiah 9:6 explained to us what type of sign He will give to us, "For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the Government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty GOD, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."_*
*_"Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of Hosts will perform this."_*
(Isaiah 9:6-7)
*These verses clearly says that Jesus is the King of Kings, Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty GOD, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace and there is no end of His Government and Peace. Jesus came from the lineage of David and as prophesied He is going to establish His Kingdom forever when He will return. He is going to judge and rule justly. These are the qualities of GOD that was manifested in and through Jesus.*
*Once again it proves that Jesus is the very GOD who came down in the form of a Man to redeem us.*
