For someone who has hearing problems and often have difficulty with RUclips clips, I find you are very clear and precise. So thank you for that and your very useful tips.
It's really Coool to have a guy like you out there that spends a lot of time just making good information videos about the computer services and programs we all use. I just found out that if I clicked at the bottom of most of your pages it takes me to a page that lists all of your videos how great is that. Keep up the good work.
This is my first encounter to watch your video. I am really impressed as it is all mature and valid stuff presented by you. I would love to watch your all videos and learn Google and other technology
I love you for showing me how to recover an 11 page document. The story you told about your daughter's school assignment getting lost and how using "version history" she was able to recover her work. Thank you and Happy Holidays to you and yours.
have just got my very first Chrome OS laptop in the early Black Friday sales, a Pixelbook. Lots and lots to learn and soooo glad I've found your channel. Thank you Steve, I'll be lurking here for a while to come i think!
Steve, Thank-You for the pods. For us out here in the world who are not computer savvy it helps. It helps because it make me look into the different things you cast and learn what they are for and how to use them. I have been watching you for a couple years now and have used many of the things you show us.I wasn't aloud to good back to college I had to go to work. It did hurt but I aguested to it. Again keep them coming I look forward to them. For all you out there that had the training and college bare with us who didn't. Thanks
My favorite Google Drive feature is the ability to share links to your files for anyone to see. That saves SO MUCH trouble. If I create a video, rather than having to send it as a file in an email and wait FOREVER while it attaches to an email, I can create a link out of it from Google Drive and just send people to that. I use that feature constantly.
Hi Steve! I'm glad I found you here. I watched you on TV, Channel 11, CHCH, from Hamilton many years ago. You are so knowledgeable! Keep on doing what you're doing.
Steve Thank-You , I happened on to your videos just last night and joyfully surprised in your videos they were very good, thanks. I have always leaned towards Windows but now I am going to start using the Google suite of items. Keep those videos coming. Thanks
Your Channel is so cool and helpful! Im so glad that I found it. I remember growing up and seeing you on TV after Young & The Restless every day and thinking I wanted to be a tech guy! I'm a professional Bass Trombonist now but my partner is a conputer engineer so close enough! Liked and subscribed and sharing because the bit about uploading a live document blew my mind!
Looking to update to Google one and was browsing saw this vid and have it a try. II like your tone and what you seem to be trying to do on this channel. U got a new subscriber.
I'm glad I stumbled on to your site. My only concern is what does Google do with all the data it collects on us but I don't really think you have privacy when you're on the web anyway. At least your getting something out of this anyway.
Hey Steve, love your videos, especially the ones about Google apps and Evernote. Question - how secure is Google drive? Is it safe to store sensitive documents (i.e. contains personally identifiable information)? Thanks!
After what just happened to me I'm beginning to wonder just how safe it is. Somebody I do not know somehow is able to get on my Google Drive and post p***. I don't think I would put sensitive data there
Great channel - keep up the good work!! One question - is it possible to disable Google Drive? The reason we have two gmail accounts - one for me - the other for my better-half - I have my google drive bookmarked in chrome - so one click and I'm in my drive - the only problem is it always goes to the wrong google drive - then I have to click on the user photo and re-select - and I just want to disable her - not physically you understand!! Hope i explained enough...any ideas?
Thanks for this Steve! I wasn’t aware of any of these so keen to start utilising these great features. Always appreciative of your thorough reviews and tutorials! 😊
Hey Steve, Just found your vid. As a fellow techie I have to say this is soooo awesome! Your breakdown was so on point and simple to understand but at the same time made me think of other cool things I could start doing with this in my workflows or just other nerdy things I do on the side. Thanks again and I look forward to more vids and will check out your past content :). Have a great one!
For google docs sync so you can use off line, google only syncs google docs, google spreadsheets, google whatever etc not ALL your GDrive files, so if you have say pictures or videos in your GDrive these will ALSO show in the indicator of how much space your GDrive files are using in the GDrive cloud storage but these will not be sync'd to your local drive so dottotech was a little wrong there I think.. most google docs etc will use up very little local hard drive space - it is videos that take up the vast majority of storage these days, followed by photos... text takes up almost no storage when we are talking about gigabytes! btw I am a fan of dottotech, he's got some really clear well informed and very useful videos - I find I always learn something from them.
Hi Steve Thanks for introducing me to Google Forms - an excellent resource. I have set up a questionnaire to get feedback on a recent trip. This is to go out to multiple email addresses. In Gmail, to hide email addresses from the recipient list, you can use the Bcc trick, either for individuals or Groups. But how do you do the same in Forms? There does not appear to be a Bcc field. I know that you can put in a link for the form in a standard Gmail email, but that requires two operations by the recipient - click the link and fill in the questionnaire - I want the questionnaire to pop up straight away; more chance of getting it completed. Any thoughts? BTW - I thought that I was teh only person who always types teh .....
Thanks for another great video. I love Google Drive and use it for personal use. I checked my storage and have plenty left. My question is, if I lose my internet I can still use Google Drive? Thanks again
Hi there Mr. Dotto! I love the Google Suite of tools and I use a lot of them in large portions of my life. I thought I was pretty familiar with them, but after stumbling upon and watching some of your videos, I've learned that there are so many incredible ways both big and small to maximize my output with all of them! Thank you for sharing your wisdom! :)
Nice video, I am starting to use google drive more. I am a Mac girl :-) I sync my google drive to my computer and I am getting an error that I need use google suite 360 to make it work. But is seems to be working fine. I just got this error twice today after install. Any tips to fix it? I dont want 360.
I have issues with Google Drive notifications, as I integrated it with Slack. I need important notifications from certain folders to come to ring in Slack, without getting million notifications for every change anyone makes to some document in different unimportant folders
Thank you, Steve. Very helpful! I've gone to the Chrome Webstore and cannot find Google Docs Offline by doing a search. Thankfully, you have published the link here. My question; how would I have found this extension (or any others) had you not provided us with the direct link? It appears I may be missing other extensions that might be promising.
My Google Drive says 74GB of 200GB used :p I pay $30 per year for the 200GB of Google Drive space. I basically have the entire content of the hard drive of my old Dell desktop (the computer I had before I saw the light and switched to Chromebooks) saved there. Thanks for the great video!
As a projectmanager I have used revision history extensively for the past few years. My preferred Drive functionality. I do have the apps on my phone, but this is pure for review. I have them also on my iPad where I can do some basic editing.
High very interesting. I have one question what happens when you have more than one Google account and you have information and photos on them that you would like to retrieve. do you have to have one more than 1 Google One account? or can you merge them all into one and how would you go about that without losing information or pictures or things that got?
This was very cool. I have one question. Do I need Google backup and sync widows app to use Drive offline? Or if I make offline on Drive in settings, am I good to go?
Santee: I came here for the same question. I have such trouble syncing, sometimes it works and then NOT..uggh. But from what I am learning, it may (for me) be better to keep it all on the cloud and work from there. Only keep offline files on your computer harddrive that you may need in the plane.
Thank you so much, Steve! Great channel! I am a current GSuite user, also using it to back up all my computers, externals, etc. Excellent product and very pleased, so far (only 3 months in). I am wondering more about your #4, “Publishing to the Web”. Do you have links to other tutorials for this, specifically? I currently pay for webpage hosting and a website (multiple actually) but am always looking for new methods and modes, especially if they save me time and money! Again, thank you so much! Great job on the presentation! You have a great look to your videos and excellent oration! Much appreciated to find informative and smooth-talking tech tutorials!
Yes. Once Alphabet Holdings was formed to house all of Google's acquisitioned companies and side projects, Google changed from a corporation (Inc.) to a limited liability company (LLC).
A quick question about Google drive offline, in your examples you indicated you have 7 gigs of data that is to be synced, when you open your computer or update a document spreadsheet, does it sing the entire 7 gigs? The reason why I am asking is I had Google drive sync on my desktop and it took forever for it to sink to my Google drive account. As insulation I have purchased extra drive space so you can understand why I'm asking this question. Robert
Steve, automatic substitution is great in Google Docs, although I use Ms Word as word-processor. Can I have automatic substitution in Gmail? I usually write in Afrikaans. Can I download a spell checker for Afrikaans in gmail?
For someone who has hearing problems and often have difficulty with RUclips clips, I find you are very clear and precise. So thank you for that and your very useful tips.

That is great! Version history is SO valuable, especially with an online tool.
Thanks for the wonderful tutorial. I didn't know about any of the tips but I especially like working offline.
have just got my very first Chrome OS laptop in the early Black Friday sales, a Pixelbook. Lots and lots to learn and soooo glad I've found your channel. Thank you Steve, I'll be lurking here for a while to come i think!

Google Drive offline was the most intriguing! All tips still appreciated.

Splendid stuff as ever, Steve. Thank you 😊
I ahve been using Google Drive for ye3ars, but only for cloud storage. I really am starting to integrate Google Docs and Google Sheets. Thanks!!

Great tips, thanks Steve. Makes me think I should start using Google drive.
When I need something explained to me I go to Dottotech. Thanks!
this video is very helpful. Thanks
Glad it was helpful! You're most welcome!
You're the man!. Though I knew of this information. My sentiment still stands good sir.
Excellent as usual. I enjoy all of your videos.
Some other great tips as usual, most this time on Google Doc than Google drive.

Thanks Steve, that was great!!! Question, If you check the box to work offline on your computer, does that get sync'ed to your other devices??
Just the computer you do it on.
Thank you, Steve. Very helpful! I've gone to the Chrome Webstore and cannot find Google Docs Offline by doing a search. Thankfully, you have published the link here. I just love your voice. I wish a Google Assistant with your voice, haha
High very interesting.

You could share folders by right click "share" and enter your other Google email address. I'm not an expert, but that may work.
Good video, shanks for sharing.
This was very cool. I have one question. Do I need Google backup and sync widows app to use Drive offline? Or if I make offline on Drive in settings, am I good to go?
Thanks Steve. I'm just trying to learn to use Google Drive. I'd like to see you do a video about how to put files on Google Drive & how to sync.

Can you do a video searching and organizing Google drive?
Steve: I'm on my iPhone and want to download Google Docs, like you showed. But the "publisher" is Google LLC. Is that the same as Google Inc?
Yes. Once Alphabet Holdings was formed to house all of Google's acquisitioned companies and side projects, Google changed from a corporation (Inc.) to a limited liability company (LLC).
Great video. Thanks.
