If you want to try out each of the major DJ software ecosystems, how would this setup go? Reloop Elite & 2 RP8000Mk2 each with Phase Essentials, Pioneer DDJXP1 above the mixer and 2 Pioneer XDJ700 above the turntables. Buy Traktor Pro and maybe Virtual DJ too. You may also need a Traktor Kontrol X1 MK2 or midi map the Pioneer for use with Traktor. Then you would have most bases covered for running DVS, playing vinyl or playing media from the XDJ700 media players
Hi, congratulations for your video, I wanted to ask you something about the DDj-XP1 and the XDJ-RX2 console, how can I connect the DDj-XP1, to the XDJ-RX2? I ask you this question because I have an XDJ-RX2, but I don't understand how to connect the DDj-XP1 controller to the XDJ-RX2 !! Could you please help me understand how to connect these two hardwers ?, Thank you in advance
Can you utilize the Key Shift function without connecting to rekordbox? I have a CDJ-2000NXS2 with the 750mk2 mixer set-up and want to be able to change the keys of a track standalone. Any suggestions? Much appreciated.
I would like to ask a question! I'm interested in xp1 or xp2 For use on iPad! In beatmaker3, Do you know if it works like all controllers? Why do I have the maschine mikro 3 But unfortunately it does not recognize it! If you answered me you would help me a lot !!! Good continuation in the very good work you do :)
Will it work with CDJ 2000NXS2 and DJM 900NXS2. I saw somewhere that it does not work fully when stand alone. I just wanna check if it will work fully with my console adding rekorbox dj.
ramy's rhythm It does, I tested that setup, and I’m annoyed I forgot to mention it! The thing is, in standalone mode the XP1 cannot expand upon what the players can already do, so you’re limited to 8 cues per deck, and there are no Pad Fx, Slide FX, etc. The whole layout is a different and a lot of stuff isn’t used. For me, it would be a hard sell at $250 just for that use - even though it does ‘work’ fine.
Love your explanation Mojaxx as always. I know this uncomplicated question probably warrants an uncomplicated reply.. but it’s complicating me! Can I just confirm if the XP1 or SP1 for that matter can be used for one shot samples internally. For example, acapellas whilst 2 decks (with only two turntables) are playing?
Rekordbox DJ is a beast. Only three thing missing before it can become the top DJ software base on funtionality. Number one, the use of the camelot key notation by default. Number to add some thing similar to serato flip as an option and the number three add on feature mix in and out cue point like traktor has. By the way rekordbox auto censoring feature is a winner.
Landy Delossantos I agree about the Camelot thing, for sure. Have you tried the sequencer in the sampler? It’s not Flip but it’s a similar idea. And as for your last point, you might want to check out the new public beta on the Pioneer DJ forum...
The sequencer is a good a option for creating rhythm from your sample but it is not good for in the fly remixing or jumping thru the track and create mashup. Well we can not have it all but the flip option would be nice.
Can either this or the SP1 be used without the laptop running rekordbox dj (as in you map it out in rekordbox and then only use it with CDJs and a DJM)? Well, specifically XDJ 1000 MK 2.
@@atd9945 Yes. it can, but less feature. Only 8 hot cue can be accessed, loop, and other feature which is already on CDJ-2000NXS2. Another controller feature is disabled, like 16 hotcues and so on
Jack Of All Trades You can sequence the sampler with any hardware, that’s built in to the software. There just aren’t any default controls for that on the XP1.
Have you tried it? I think it's way more feature packed than Serato with a modern and very powerful browser, and most importantly, it's stable. Even though DVS isn't as good, the actual program is better. That is, coming from Serato DJ.
anttiskate hmmm. I’m both a dvs and controller user so dvs is important to me. When you say it isn’t good what do you mean. Also it looks like rkb five brings them inline with Serato DJ but with a better browser.
The question I want to know is can you use this to play on RBDJ with just the XP1 and a laptop? I want a portable controller I can use to play around with that doesn't require a mixer or speaker outputs (like a traktor s2) but with a small form factor. Any help would be appreciated.
My only wish is that professional review sites such as DJCity would review the actual DVS performance. I bought the DJM-250mk2 mostly for trying out the DVS functionality. From my experience, the DVS performance certainly isn't professional quality or anywhere close Traktor or Serato. Slow drags become choppy and the "keylock" (master tempo) sounds absolutely horrible on lower pitches. Absolutely essential to anyone playing hip hop with mixing between varying tempos. Advanced scratching and studio work becomes a no-go. Even basic things like adjusting cue points with the DVS record is just horrible since it can't register small record movements. Sad that it seems Traktor has abandoned their DVS platform, and Rekordbox hasn't adressed the DVS performance despite the numerous updates RB is getting. Please, for the sake of us DVS users, do a proper review and hope Pioneer starts giving a ___k instead of just treating DVS as a check list feature. The weird thing to omit the knobs for controlling effects on the XP-1 is that on the DJM-250mk2, pad fx are not post line fader. It makes using post fader (the proper fx section on the top of the GUI) effects on the 250 pretty much pointless, since they are inconvenient to use on a keyboard. MIDI mapping was to be found pretty buggy with using a DJ-Tech CTRL. Actual mapping works well, but brings about horrible UI bugs, for example messes up keyboard shortcuts for cue points after a short time (press cue point 2 and it triggers 3, both on the controller and keyboard shortcut). Only unplugging and restarting RB resolves the issue. After you pointing out the missing pots, lost all interest in a controller the size of laptop, but without the ability to control all RB features... Sorry for the long rant, keep up the good work. :)
anttiskate I’m curious as to whether you’re using actual Rekordbox control vinyl with the software? Because with that, I’ve found DVS performance to be pretty much spot on. Serato vinyl, not so much - but that’s not supposed to be compatible, it ‘kinda’ works but not by design. RBDJ is by no means perfect (although nor is anything), and I’ll be taking a closer look at it again around the release of 5.1, but in my testing (gigs, at home, and in the lab) DVS performance has not been an area of disappointment for me.
Thanks for the reply. Yes, I'm using RB vinyl. It's not that the DVS doesn't work as intended (I've used it with the 850, S9 and 250 at gigs), but it feels like it's just not there yet. They made improvements, but it's very noticeable on minute/slow movements, like adjusting cue points with the vinyl. Just one experiment to try out: 1) I have my stickered record at 12 o'clock and have set a sample there. 2) Release the sample and rewind with a very (very) slow backward drag. 3) At some point the software loses track (but you still continue slowly back to the 12 o'clock position). 4) Release, and the software and jumps back to the correct position, but you hear the sample twice (stutters). I'm very pleased with RBDJ for most of my DJing needs, but there's some DVS-specific things I miss from Serato, like sticker lock and controlling cue points using the vinyl. And I would very much like to turn the beat grid visibility completely off, since it's more of a nuisance when playing anything organic (jazz, funk, etc). Anyway, keep up the great work on the videos. :)
Rebuilding my DVS setup I considered Traktor Z2(RGB pads) or djm 450 $$$(no pads) or 250mk2 with XP1 would be a great setup for beginners to learn
Whens the Gravity Stand from 1:57 getting reviewed?

I can't hear the music. What should I do? How should I insert the headphone in ddj pioneer xp1?
Hi Mojaxx ..I have a ddj sx2 can I use an xp2 along side my controller or is it use one or the other?
sampling and remixing on the fly while DJ'ing? Sounds like fun times to me!
ever heard of a groovebox?
Can you utilize the Key Shift function without connecting to rekordbox? I have a CDJ-2000NXS2 with the 750mk2 mixer set-up and want to be able to change the keys of a track standalone. Any suggestions? Much appreciated.

No info about controlling hotcues on CDJ's?
Can i use this at the same time with virtual dj..which runs on my laptop??
Is it playable with ddj sx2 and serato dj ?

Hi Mojaxx I love your videos. I have one question can you recommend a good website that I can buy laptop skins? Thanks.
I'm not getting the ddj 1000 srt samplers true this ddj xp2
Is there a way to sync your music and crates from Serato DJ to pioneer’s rekordbox dj software!?
The Cut Creator DJ Outkast rekordbuddy, although it’s for migrating one to the other, not for continuous two-way synching

I’m wondering too
I need answer :/

Can this be hooked up directly to a dim 450
DJ OllieRed yes
Welll what about the djs -1000??...it isnt basically the samething??
What brand is that laptop stand?
Can you use this with the DDJ Rb??
Yes
Any way to enable sequencing through performance mode?
If this thing can also do sequencing, it's gonna be an instant winner!
Jack Of All Trades You can sequence the sampler with any hardware, that’s built in to the software. There just aren’t any default controls for that on the XP1.
Can I use it as a audio interface whit my Rekordbox timecodes? I have a old mixer, and whant to use DDJ XP1 whit my turntables!
it doesn't have an audio card, so no you can't use this as an audio interface.
I need those green cables ✅✅✅
Great review thank you. Does the controller have instant doubles button?
C Sanchez Yeah, double tap the load button.
Where can I get this green USB port?
Can you please post where to buy it down below ?
you can buy these and in various colors on store.djtechtools.com/ . Look for "Chroma Cables"
Hello!~you can give it to me ddj xp1 serato mapping?? I will thank you very much
Sounds very solid! Worth picking up imo
Basically, you buy the software with dvs for $229, or you buy the Xp1 for $20 more and get it all. Decisions decisions
Cleveland Terry Buying hardware does seem to be the most economical way to get a RBDJ license, for sure.
Does anyone know who makes that labtop stand?
brame75 It’s by Gravity. Review coming soon.
MojaxxVDJ thank you. I have learned a lot from watching you. Keep up the good work. I also love ddj xp1 i use it with Serato.
The djm 900 nxs 2 is compatible with rdj?
yes
Does rekordbox works with the S9 now?
After update firmware and dirver, it's worked! !
www.pioneerdj.com/en/support/software/djm-s9/
Cleveland Terry ya but you would never want to use it.
Indeed, although you’ll need a Rekordbox DJ + DVS licence (which come with the XP1).
Have you tried it? I think it's way more feature packed than Serato with a modern and very powerful browser, and most importantly, it's stable. Even though DVS isn't as good, the actual program is better. That is, coming from Serato DJ.

Great video!! 👁💗🌼👍 I enjoyed watching this!! 🌼👍💗😀🌴
What’s the laptop stand ??
Sorry for being late of 9months, just in case you didn't get the awnser yet it's the "gravity lts 1"
Great video
The question I want to know is can you use this to play on RBDJ with just the XP1 and a laptop?
I want a portable controller I can use to play around with that doesn't require a mixer or speaker outputs (like a traktor s2) but with a small form factor.
Any help would be appreciated.
Xone K2. One can map it to however they want ( four decks, two decks + 2 fx units, etc)
I just bought this... I hope it was worth it...
Well explained
Merci beaucoup
hi friends, where can i buy those green usb's ive seen them everywhere on pro djs i need them. thanks!
DJ Techtools Chroma Cables
So its pretty much a expensive version of the launchpad?

Is foll video ????
OK found the name of the stand
Only record box for 250? I’m out.
They just released the DDJ-XP2 for both Serato and rekordbox
Could this be used with pioneers interface 2 and a DJM 500?
Is it possible to use rekordbox with two cdj 400, one djm 400 and the ddj xp1?
Johnny Diaz no you need a DJM - 450
Hello, can I use that on Numark dj controller ?
