I taught myself to crochet ar age 12...and am now 66 years old and still crocheting...I always challenge skillset..with projects I've never thought I could possibly accomplish, but always surprise myself. The one thing I could never get was knitting..it always seemed so confusing...you do explain it very nicely..but it's still difficult for me..I think I'll stay with crocheting..I do love your other videos also..thanks 🥰💕
Thank you SO much for such an amazing tutorial! I finished my first scarf today and it didn’t even take me days to finish (like most yarn-craft projects do). Your instructions are so incredibly easy to follow!
I just finished my first scarf (and arm knitting ever!) and it turned out so well! Thank you so much for this tutorial. I absolutely loved making my scarf and will use it every day!
I’m new to knitting and really enjoy your tutorials. They are easy to follow and I appreciate the time you take to show the stitches. I’m looking forward to making my 1st scarf and blanket. Thank you!
Great vid! Made my first scarf today. Instructions were easy to follow. My scarf was a little loose, but with practice, it’ll get better. Thanks again ☺️
I have watched quite a few arm knitting tutorials and I think this is the best one. I have only made two so far. I keep making my bind off too tight and my ends end up on the same side so I need to see how to secure the ends together that way. I just kind of wing it using this as a guide. Haha I'll keep making them and I'll get it eventually. Thanks!
Have been scouring the internet trying to find the perfect DIY Christmas gift (I'm a bit of an early bird) and I am so happy I came upon your blog and channel. I'm running to buy yarn later today. So excited to learn a new skill and create things for my loved ones. Thank you for making your videos so detailed! Hopefully I can get the hang of it.
Great video. Love the scarf. Especially the button placement. Will be making this today. Like how you actually give complete instructions. Will be watching for your next project.

Hi simply maggie thank you so much for sharing your video with us good work so easy to do i will try one next winter soon excellent and its my favorite color too bye bye 😃
I have watched a few of your videos now and I have to say you are awesome. I made two scarfs for my mom and mother in law and they love them. Thank you so much for the help. It was so easy and they came out great!
I have always been put off arm knitting because I was too intimidated by casting in. This young lady is so Di easy to follow, so I am gonna give it a try. Thank you xx
hi I had a question I made the scarf in your video I love it! my question is in the video you took both of the ends of the yarn and made your scarf what if you used 2 different colors do you know if that would work?
Hi!! I love the tutorial I just have one question…I have a 5 lbs ball of yarn but I’m definitely not going to use it all so in that case how would I make it?
Thanks, I managed it, and she loves it :) i struggled the end bit casting off but i did it, never done it before it took 2 hours, now i know how it'd take maybe 1 hour :)
I am confused as to which way to turn the loop towards myself (right or left)? It seemed to me you did it both ways on the same arm...? I'm sure I'm mistaken, but that's how it looked.
I have watched a similar video by thecraftygemini. In her video she states she has done it both directions and it does not seem to make any difference. She has a terrific video for beginners DIY arm knitting-infinity scarf cowl-BEST TUTORIAL. I hope this helps you
Hello. I tried to make it but my first and my last loop of every row are bigger that the others. I am trying to make them tight as possible, but without success. Help me please :)!
I love making these! I made one for my mother and both of my sisters for Christmas ( made my father a different type scarf :3 ) but I always have one problem. Either I had way to much yarn when I begin to cast off OR when I try to cast off, I end up having not enough yarn! There's literally a 6" difference in completed length between two scarves I made for myself even though I did the same method. Do you think i'm knitting too loosely? :(
It's one ball per scarf. So you'd need about 5 skeins for 5 scarves. I know there's a little bit extra, but if you cast more loosely, then you won't have that. And tying ends together ends up being messy, so I'd do one ball/skein per scarf.
So when you start scarves and blankets you seem to alternate between putting the tail over you thumb or between your index and middle finger, does it really matter? Also when you begin to knit, turning the working end in towards yourself is that really important? I've seen it both ways, or the first stitch of a row away from yourself and the rest towards. so many different ways, which way is the right way?
i am having a hard time with the beginning stich for the first row. i got the 8 stiches on the right arm but i can't get it onto my right arm. please help!
I have slipped my hand back out then slowly undo the step...when the loop that you turned (and slipped your hand thru) is remaining slip it back onto your opposite wrist and tighten. Then begin again

This was really helpful; thank you. I learned this and shared with my knitting guild, giving you credit for helping me of course.
I'm having a problem putting the second row on. it seems like the last one ( with the slip knot ) wont pull tight. What am I doing wrong.

Great Job Amanda!!!! Just Amazing.....A Challenge But I'll Surely Try....Thank You For Sharing....xoxo One Love AtoZ Style
Question is it possible to use two separate skeins of yarn (same make and color of course) as your two strands instead of two strands from one skein?
Wow this video is so excellent! Thank you!!
That background breathing though 😂🌟☺️.....
Love this tutorial helped ❤️
Awesome thanks for explaining easily for us beginners!!
Nice knitting :) I knit sometimes ❤️
Amazing Thank you Yeah
Busy winter for all of us😁

After watching this yesterday i went out today and got some extra thick yarn to try this out
I've never knitted before but im thinking of knitting my girlfriend one of these for xmas, is it easy to get the hang of?
that's a really sweet idea. good luck! it seems like it'd be easy to do once you got the hang of it.
Thanks, I managed it, and she loves it :) i struggled the end bit casting off but i did it, never done it before it took 2 hours, now i know how it'd take maybe 1 hour :)

brenda davies i agree. it looked that way to me and now im confused.
The first stitch of each row is always twisted different. The rest are toward yourself

@@SimplyMaggieblog so really the first stitch should be "turn away from yourself" the the rest "turn toward yourself."
How many rows did you knit? love your videos!
Super beau style pour demarer tout ouvrage à tricoter.
Maggie, I do not see where there is a link to the button cuff that you referenced. TYIA
Looking for that too!
This was really hard, can u please make a new video for a 14 year old for the first time knitting
How many yards long should the skein be? I bought a couple skeins the other day and one is 87 yards and the other is 64...
Anna - From what I gather, for this scarf, you should have around 110 to 130 yards. I’m learning as well!
Thankyou so much, perfect, I love this video. 🍒
Does it matter which way you turn it to yourself? Like right or left?
Did you ever receive a response on this, V0nneke17? I'm confused, as well.

Thank you!!! This video was awesome!!!
Can you use a size 4 yarn
Great video, thank you but I can’t find the link to the button cuff thank you 😊
Going to give this a try... love the video .excited to give it a whirl
Link to button cuff is not apparent in description. Does it still exist somewhere or no?
New to this! I would like to try to make one. What kind of wool do I need? I have yarn but not wool. Will it work?
Hi can you do this in a Afghan blanket
thank you I learned finally thanks again
if I wanted it to be a longer infinity scarf could I just add another ball of yarn and follow the end steps?
+Jordan Kuykendall You would simply tie on a new skein of yarn and keep knitting.
Question: instead of finding both ends of a thing of yarn. Can I use 2 seperate yarn balls. And at the end tie them into a knot to make a loop?
Yes you can,you will end up with the same thing💕
I love making these! I made one for my mother and both of my sisters for Christmas ( made my father a different type scarf :3 ) but I always have one problem. Either I had way to much yarn when I begin to cast off OR when I try to cast off, I end up having not enough yarn! There's literally a 6" difference in completed length between two scarves I made for myself even though I did the same method. Do you think i'm knitting too loosely? :(
I want to make like 5 for xmas gifts so can I just us one ball or do I need 2
It's one ball per scarf. So you'd need about 5 skeins for 5 scarves.
I know there's a little bit extra, but if you cast more loosely, then you won't have that. And tying ends together ends up being messy, so I'd do one ball/skein per scarf.
Thanks
Do we have to use that 🧶 yarn
Does anyone know how many yards that bulk has?
So when you start scarves and blankets you seem to alternate between putting the tail over you thumb or between your index and middle finger, does it really matter? I've seen it both ways, or the first stitch of a row away from yourself and the rest towards. so many different ways, which way is the right way?
+aklyssajo The tail always stays in the same place when casting on. And yes, do everything as I do in the video
May i know how mush metres of yarn is needed for an infinity scarf ?
so how many stitches do you make? like I know 12 rows..but how long??
Very nice. I'm going to do it this week. Thank you.
When you arm knit due you count the stitches on your arm as arow
You spelled it wrong its do not due they sound the same but different meanings
How many yards would you say you used to make this?
How many yards of yarn was in this skein?
Hello Maggie, Where did you purchase this yarn from. I can't seem to find it online. Thanks.
Can you do a video on how to make your beanies??
awesome Amanda, great bind-off. thanks.
can you finger crochet too
Wow...very nice 👌😊💓
I am now your subscriber and I finally made a scarf in 20 Minutes, cause I made small one for my neck.
Can you make this on a loom?
Cute scarf
When youre casting the first row, after the first slip knot, does the tail always go around the thumb or is it whatever is at the back?
Kisha Roxas tail is always around the thumb 👍
Great video,, thank you.
i am having a hard time with the beginning stich for the first row. i got the 8 stiches on the right arm but i can't get it onto my right arm. please help!
can i use yarns number 4??
Is it supposed to cut off my circulation or no 😬🤔
U got ur circulation cut off!? Ur so lucky!! I now live in a cocoon!!!
The first stich looks like you are entering from the back while the rest of the row you are entering from the front. Is this correct?
Yes
Descriptive instructions! Thank you so much!
Thanks so much
Yay! I did it!
Are these scarfs heavy when finished
They look beautiful
GREAT JOB!!!!!
Can you use just one strand or does it really need to be 2 strands?
If you use only one strand it will look less full. You will get a much thinner scarf.
Kim cain
At around 11:03 I forgot to turn the loop towards me, so what I did was just put my hand through the loop. How do I undo it? Can i just keep going??
I have slipped my hand back out then slowly undo the step...when the loop that you turned (and slipped your hand thru) is remaining slip it back onto your opposite wrist and tighten. Then begin again
Love it
Awesome, thank you!
Do you have to use two strands at once? Even if you just have one skein of yarn?
I am trying to make a scarf for my BFF
what if you need to add more yarn?
+Heather Lamsey Tie a basic knot. I have a video on how to add a new skein of yarn on my page :)
how many gram is yarn ؟
15.27 you talk about how to FINISH this scarf. THANKS. Just FYI for me and others.
Omg started seeing this and got to 8:15 and now I'm all tied up kids walked in on me and asked if I was ok lol😅😬
