LYRICS
Behold my kool style
While I greet the funk with my Māori
Want to (?)
On the base guitar
My skills allow me
Break the tension
Or the tackle
Like Jonah Lomu on attack
I've paid my dues from here to Timbuckto and back
Mad
If I had my crew up in the house
It makes the difference
It is my preference
Refer to reference
Crack the ill styles
With my patu
To open up you
In the meanwhile
I still pursue
To inject you with my horiest intelligence
So intelligent
Make way for the native to fall back on your heels
I stop the sun up
Just like my legendary
(?) like son of Papatūānuku
Māui to make the days longer
Erupt a (?) like Ruaumoko
King of volcanoes
Commotion like it was The Springbok Tour
The only one representing my hori ways
Tautoko te mahi o tēnei ra just about every day
It's the freakafied funk hori on the loose
Haere Mai (?)Māori produce
Behold my kool style
While I greet the funk with my Māori
The incredible, lyrical and original
etc.
Sworn to wage war
I pledge allegiance to all iwi
Who cut ties with Liz and her people
Trying to deceive me
By the way I
Manage to be the proud Hori I am
I take I (?) know me
As the horified addict
Of (?) strength
I keep my fitness
Want to (?)
On my base guitar
My skills allow me
It's the next step
I haven't hit yet
Next time round I (?) dance all
I get much respect
The world is yours
But the production is mine this time
Throw your spanner in my works
You'll be ready for the line this time around
War
Behold my kool style
While I greet the funk with my Māori
The incredible, lyrical and original
etc.
My rein of terror
As soon as my lyric hits
Undeniably proven I inhabit all mics with all vigour
The boy never quits practicing in eloquence
The return of the dread eye, since '86
Forceful
Fuck, you're making me livid
Wrapped up in non-fat
Fuck the silver medalist
Man, I'm the gold winner
Proven fact that Dam is good
Native that's the name we're talking
None let off the hook
Brothers, listen up to my commentary
My use of words, killer
Send your skills to the word cemetery
Will the multitudes handle hori attitudes
The greatest sizes are the skilless and the rude
Behold my kool style
While I greet the funk with my Maori
The incredible, lyrical and original
etc. Видеоклипы
The rakim of nz hip hop
Oooh that’s a bold statement uce but yea these bros were ahead of their time 🤍
Found out I was Maori 5 years ago at the age of 24, growing up with a racist pakeha father. Just discover this track thanks to NZ hip hop stand up. Brought a tear to my eye as this is just a taste of what I’ve missed out on I’m my own country - what a wicked track!
Word up brothah! My father is Maori and mother pakeha, I look more white than Maori apart from my eyes and some features. I'm 27, grew up with Samoan,Tongan and Maori families in my street, colour doesn't mean Jack from a bean my bro!, they're better people than pakeha, Not that I dislike pakeha. Just different people yah know, they want togetherness and good times. I grew up on this type of music, keep stepping brothah! Life is awesome with these brothahs! Nothing but good times and memories you'll never forget!. One time at a time.
Ewsh we all family In New Zealand
im "white", but I'm more black than white. Soul tribe be where its at
Sup cuz? Long ear easter island here.
Welcome back to the Whanau bro. 🙏❤
First verse in my opinion is the best ever in NZ hip hop
2021 still bumping Dam Native
21 haters can lick the patu !
2021 baby time to hear this on the mainstream 🏆
I am still listening to this in 2018. But then again, I appreciate good old skool hip hop. Shout out to Bennett Pomana and Danny Haimona. In my eyes, NZ Hip Hop was Always world class. Maybe the rest of the world didn't get to enjoy it, but I do, still to this day XX
HUNDY 100% same as Break Dancing bk in da 80s we would of had some of the best B=Boy Breakerz in the World even after 80s NZ still stayed strong in dancing for decades and now all that hard work done by Paris (Royal Family) has put NZ on the World Map when it comez to Hip Hop Dance
"Behold my cool style, while I greet the funk with my Maori" ... Still fire!!

Man a track that should have more credit then they should have back then. A pure NZ masterpiece lovin the rap flows and the scratching edits!
It was very popular when it came out. They also won Most Promising Group, Best Video, and Danny Haimona won Most Promising Male Vocalist at the 1997 NZ Music Awards.
