The phrase "fai fai pea" is a Samoan chant typically used by plantation workers whilst gathering the harvest in the plantations. It is also used by individuals carrying long and laborious tasks in the villages..Fai fai pea. English translation. " Keep on with it" or "keep the hard work up"
When he raps the lyrics: "Samoans been exploited..." He's talking about how the Germans tried to make the native Samoans work in the fields, but the Samoans refused so the palagi brought in the Chinese. Now, nearly a third have Chinese anestry.
This is old-school af, i love the positive nz hip hop artists from back then che fu, deceptakonz, scribe, all clean wasnt about flexing the cash and the women like alot of American rap these days. I havnt heard a new good rapper for ages.
I saw this cat in Htown in 1999 or 2000, I spent most of the night out on the balcony smoking blunts with his road crew, this dude was a badass with a system and a mic.... He has heaps of coconuts to show everyone!

+Dan NZ Hey Dan, I'm not Samoan, and I'm not from South Auckland either. I'm a palagi from Northland, New Zealand. Just because I say God bless all Kiwi Samoans doesn't mean I'm having a go at the rest of us! God bless all the rest of us too! I'm just happy that we have wonderful people from Samoa here in New Zealand adding their culture to the rest of ours.
this classic needs to be on the new Fast and Furious movie Shaw and Hobbs... but congrats K.K and the Hamo nation for making the S &H movie with song Mista... Solid work pays off...
I was in born and raised in New Zealand, but now I live in Japan. Really makes me sad when I look at the island of Samoa, and I compare that simple life to what most of us do these days... most of the time just sit on front of screens all day playing games, watching netflix, or spending hours on facebook. What a waste of our lives. We weren't created to do this. Makes me want to move to Samoa or Rarotonga and live there, work hard, and stop being so idle in front of the screen.
@TheAtraxRobustus: its unlikely, the main areas hit by the tsunami were on the southern sides of Upolu and Savai'i, and this video seems to be shot mainly in and around the capital of Apia, which is on the northern side of Upolu
