I don't see the HR Steering Blocks available for the Fireteam. What's the part number you used? My first run, I bumped into a rock and blew out the drivers side inner bearing. Seems with those BIG tires, the wheel bearings are a bit sloppy in the knuckle (steering block). I noticed that before I even took'er for a rip. That's okay... as, I'd rather have a cheap part blow out then break something costly or unobtainable.
Thank you for the up close view so I could see exactly what to do. My fireteam had the bearings on the front left and back right blow out just like yours. I got it used so I’m unsure how mistreated it may have been but I’ve been driving rc cars for years and have never blown out bearings despite not performing maintenance as often as I should. Already ordered replacements (not arrma brand) and I’m going to switch them all out.

If I take my bearings apart, I pop the dust cover off and pack them like I would wheel bearing on my full size rigs. I use Lucus green or red grease. Also pack the voided area between bearings. Just my opinion. I haven't blown a bearing sense. Have Fun.
Yep if caught in time I use permatex ceramic extreme lube on rubber sealed but this wasn't enough packs to warrant this premature destruction . . . Flawed design and JUNK material used
I didnt make it through my first pack before having same issue. No flips, impacts or sand running. Just in a parking lot and super short grass and all the sudden it started doing donuts. Grabbed the rig and saw the exact same thing. Just ordered the HR knuckles with the larger bearings as this seems to be a common issue.
And I'm with you. I can't not lube bearings. I understand those who suggest not to, but I have to, whether it's grease or oil, I can't run things without at least something.
I don't know Guy, having never ran that in water, that rust was there when you bought it and weakened that bearing and may also effect the others it appears now. Pretty common for my Arrmas but they do get wet. Part of the hobby, bearings aren't that expensive. I find I go through more tires than bearings and that starts to get costly.

I usually give my bearing a little shot of WD 40. I'm not sure how much it helps or hurts. I do end up getting my rc's wet all the time during the winter driving in the snow. Its not only the car but damn i wish i had a bash spot like this Id also say its a car issue. The bearings on that 6s models are way too, hm, thin? But Hot Racing makes a nice upgrade that fits bigger bearings
That early? Mate, I just burned out both on the rear of the Mojave exb on pack 4 xD took both hub carriers with it and top it off - had to drill out the screw locking the pin and lost the thread on the axle by doing so... Running on similar terrain like you do.
Those bearings shouldn't crap out so quickly but that diamond dust driving is definitely tough on them. The only thing i could think of that would be as corrosive to run on for bearings would be salt water. Hoping mine don't go that quickly. I do mostly grassy field driving and no big jumps so I should be safe.
@@rcguygarage yes snow melt boom water. Usually I don't bash in snow cause water gets in everything. Good tip spray down with silicone so have little barrier protection bashing in rain in snow. Or after done bashing blow out the rc dry then oil the bearings get done. I have to say this it kinda your fault gonna winter bash you have to do extra maintenance after running. Now arrma do have crappy bearings. This is the reason I don't bash in snow or rain.
@@rcguygarage guy one more thing Jim bearings sell stainless steel bearing kits as well. They won't rust out. I know Jim he in my state in Ohio. Cool guy
@@KalsRcAdventures I think I really want to talk about this if you've got a moment so anytime I get the vehicle wet I shouldn't assume that the sealed bearings that the vehicle has will repel water because the bearings have oil in it or are the bearings dry making water ingress that much easier I think this is actually a very good question what are your thoughts???!
Hey guy you think I should just pick up some extra bearings ? this seems like a common issue on this RC I haven’t ran the truck yet im trying to learn everything I can before the issues start 😂😫😭😎😇 just part of the hobby im learning.
Has anyone tried the TRB 15x21x4mm bearings from Ama? If so... are they better than stock? Don't really want/need to put HR alum steering blocks right now, as I know that'll help solve the issues all together BUT transfer the load to another part when bashing those big tires into stationary objects.
Just wanted to say, this is both a quality control issue and design flaw IMO. My bro had the same bearings fall apart on the second run with a brand new talion exb. I've replaced those same bearings on both the mojave and kraton more times than I can remember. The bearings are just too small for the job they're tasked with, add to that the "lowest priced supplier wins"..and, well you know the rest..love the channel Guy!!
No lie them bearings kinda crap for this quality of rc it's not a Amazon special its top of the line so should atleast have good shielded bearing.... but that's only some it... alot to explain... but that driveshaft coming out of the cup is probably what messed the bearing up when the shaft is out an bound up an your still moving the suspension up an down turning the wheels left/right while rolling is a ton of strain on the cheap bearing.... I'd be checking into why it came out pivot ball issue or droop screw issue keep that driveshaft in check an that will help your next bearing to.... keep bashing guy...
At min 30.... you wonder why there's so much grit "in a sealed area". Well, it's not sealed. The bearings fit loosely in the steering block. They don't press in, nor have a rubber seal between bearing and block. If they PRESSED in, like a bearing into a alum wheel hub.... then, yes. They'd be sealed. The tolerances just aren't there. Maybe the Hot Racing block is a pressed in fit, and eliminates that issue?! Anyone with HR blocks who can attest to it or not?
Arrma Maintenance says.. diff service after 10 packs, and shock service after 20 packs, they do not specify a service schedule for the wheel hub bearings.. but I guess you could "surmise" that if they want the diffs done at 10 packs, and shocks at 20 packs.. those bearings would be "recommended" perhaps at 10 packs ? But personally I would never even consider replacing those bearings before 20 packs.. but from seeing how the bearing looked when you pulled it out.. its a poor quality, and will def. let dirt and water in after just a few runs, just another sign of cost cutting and poor QC from a manufacturer. Its disappointing for sure and is def. holding me back from picking up any new RCs . And if I took the bearings apart for cleaning, I would have used some hi-temp grease, just for the thickness since the seal doesnt seem very good on those cheap bearings and I would worry the liquid lube would just leak out.. just my 2 pennies worth ..
😅😂😂Thanks my guy... You have just cost me 1,200 today!

That early? Mate, I just burned out both on the rear of the Mojave exb on pack 4 xD took both hub carriers with it and top it off - had to drill out the screw locking the pin and lost the thread on the axle by doing so... Running on similar terrain like you do.
Yep not cool when it goes out faster than expected
@@rcguygarage aluminum hubs for better heat transfer, removed inner shielding, filled the whole chamber with grease. fingers crossed...
You're having too much fun Guy.
Holy crap you upload a lot of videos...
mine did the same exact thing
U took it in snow remember guy 🤣🤣🤣
Yeah I do NOW🤣😂 BUT do you think even then it should have rusted???
Cool guy
Ohhhh right i remember those very cool videos in your front yard snow rippin😉👍🏼💯
What size is that bearing that went out??
What oil did you put on the bearings?
Hey guy you think I should just pick up some extra bearings ? this seems like a common issue on this RC
I haven’t ran the truck yet im trying to learn everything I can before the issues start 😂😫😭😎😇 just part of the hobby im learning.
If this is about the XRT then yes I'd get QUALITY stuff as remember even though this is the all mighty TRAXXAS they cut costs as well
@@rcguygarage i just got the Arrma Fireteam but i do like XRT too i think aluminum hubs will fix the bearing from failing so fast.
Hey I just ran my fire team for the first time for five minutes in the bearing blew out
Yep NOT COOL
Yeah I’m pretty new to the hobby do you have any suggestions for any upgrades that’ll be inexpensive that I should start off with?
Imagine that’s just the wheel bearings there are differential bearings center diff bearings so many to oil to much work to lube for maintenance 😱😱
I've had to replace every one of the inner hub bearings on my Fireteam. Some really poor quality control on them for sure!
Not quality control just plain poor quality
I think it’s a FireTeam issue. My friends FireTeam has the same issue
Hello bro, what do you think of my new body for my fireteam?
Big up
Happened to me today on the same side and with a bonus bent dog bone. Sigh….
Your seeing this first hand. If they look bad. Then there bad. Quality control is missing in most products these days.
I got same crap plus pinion just keeps comming off
Brake clean the s out of it if you have it or just use alcohol "not the drinking kind" throw blue loctite in that hole crank it down
I thought the seal bearings were red dust seals
At min 30.... you wonder why there's so much grit "in a sealed area". Well, it's not sealed. The bearings fit loosely in the steering block. They don't press in, nor have a rubber seal between bearing and block. If they PRESSED in, like a bearing into a alum wheel hub.... then, yes. They'd be sealed. The tolerances just aren't there.
Maybe the Hot Racing block is a pressed in fit, and eliminates that issue?! Anyone with HR blocks who can attest to it or not?
Grease the bearings. Oil just get washed out
💭🤔 it’s fireteam shyt not you guy 🤨
I have to change them every pack… buy some bulk it’s a bad design
For the size of that RC seems that the inner bearings are too small … needs to be beefier…
i was about 5 packs in .
Do you feel that way earned it fair for you? Only YOU can be that judge👍💯
@@rcguygarage i thought thats messed up I haven't even jumped it and yes it was the front passenger wheel. completely destroyed
EXACTLY👍💯
And if I took the bearings apart for cleaning, I would have used some hi-temp grease, just for the thickness since the seal doesnt seem very good on those cheap bearings and I would worry the liquid lube would just leak out.. just my 2 pennies worth ..
yes figured this bearing was already used why not try something that i don't normally use
Everything is cheaper dude food clothes TVs cars it’s all cheap bullshit now
