Maybe taste is a personal thing, but I am totally with you on this guitar. Of course it sounds amazing and I think the red / grey burst PRS guitars look sooooooo good, I would buy one immediately. And the golden hardware makes it even more amazing.
I've been interested in getting a volume pedal and after reading reviews for all the different ones out there, figured one of the Ernie Ball pedals is the one to get, but it seemed like a handful of reviews complain about "the string" being too flimsy. I'm glad to see this video as it sounds like that's nothing to worry about
Stunning tone on that intro there sir. Just lovely. And now I want a volume pedal. I need one. I feel it is essential for my continued musical sanity. Time for the best kind of shopping I think :D
This is the only thing ive ever heard rob play that i actually thought was cool. It came on autoplay and i had to alt tab to look at what it was and was like wtf rob chapman i hate that guys playing, but this one was cool. Rob if you read this, keep it up, you usually play way too many notes but this sounded great, for the first time
Coming from a worship background, a volume is one of the first pedals I learned to use. I actually used a Korg keyboard expression pedal that functioned as a volume somehow... Not sure how. But it has a control to adjust what level the heel position is, so you can make it 50%-100% if you want. Great feature. Freaking awesome playing Rob. :) cheers
Hey rob, my name is Brayden I've been watching for a few years i was born with a disability called spina bifida. I'm in hospital a lot and your videos cheer me up you and the captain are so funny. I hope to own a chapman guitar some day.
Sounds great! Volume pedals can allow you to do some really crazy stuff. Here's a trick you can try (if you haven't already): if you dial in the right sort of really high-gain, over-saturated tone on your amp and pedals, you can actually get your guitar to sound like a violin or cello when you swell in the notes.
I've had a VP Jr. on every pedal board I've made since I was 15. One lasted 15 years and I just replaced it 3 months ago, so they can take a beating too. I literally don't know how to play a gig without one, lol.
I really like the sweep on my regular VPjr, great for ambient swells. Something to keep in mind though, if yr using the tuner out you'll want a buffered pedal before the VP. The tuner out is just a passive split and will mess with yr impedance killing some top end.
Great music lads! Reminded a tad of David Gilmours sound in a few places. I was hoping for an outro track....maybe on Dorjes next album? Please, pretty please.
truly the best volume pedals out there... once you have tried them nothing compares.. the dunlop crybaby style volume pedals are so horrible it boggles the mind.
Every time I wanted a Volume Pedal, I just use my Volume knob more ;-) On the strat thats perfect. For the Les Paul the Volume Pedal might be more useful....mmmhhh....ok, I`ll check the bay for a used one^^
Rob! How do you like the RANGE of volume on this pedal? I recently bought the BOSS equivalent and was really disappointed with it. I want long swooping swells, but the boss seems very binary - just off and then on. Would appreciate your advice. Thanks man. Love your videos.
This might be a crazy question, but would there be a difference if you tweaked the volume before the tone pot (knob) as compared to tweaking the volume after the tone (I.e. outside the guitar via pedal)?
Hi rob please answer: I'm 14 and I've been playing for 5 years and I've recently done my grade 8. I've also started getting into drums though and I feel like I'm losing interest in guitar which I don't want to do. I just don't really feel motivated to do it any more. I used to play all the time but now really the only time I do is when I make myself practice for my next lesson. I don't want to stop doing it cause I don't want to lose all the skills I've learnt. Any advice on how to stay motivated? Thanks much appreciated
Al3x J4ck50n you won’t lose ur skills I quit when I was a kid. The guitar was really cheap n hard to play I gave up after 6 yrs saw SRV on tv bought myself an electric and never looked back. I love it. It’s been my lifesaver. Good luck to you. FYI I was 14 too mate.
Loving the sounds Dave's getting out of that bass. Awesome!
Sounds pretty badass on bass 😍
DAVE!!!
I’m loving the latest approach to your videos rob!
The pedal along with the 50 watt Boss Katana is seriously bad ass. Very cool video Rob
Was that intro using the Katana 50? If so I am a very happy Wroxhawk indeed. I already own one. :)
I seriously want to know what Dave is doing because that sounds awesome
Dave should do an over view of his pedal board. Loves me some more Dave.
I also hope you expand on some of these jams into full songs for Dorje or solo
I was pretty blown away
Honestly I'm obsessed with the tone you got in this video it makes me want to go out and buy this pedal, the Katana and a PRS this second!
Rob, you are bringing so much variety to all these videos you’ve been making lately. Keep doing what you do best!!!!
Lol I know he hates that PRS's colour but fuck me that is the nicest looking and sounding thing he's been playing lately.
Allan Justus best sounding guitar I've ever seen on youtube. I like the finish but it's a little polarizing
That's the Adam Jones effect.
"Gosh that silverburst is meh af..."
*listens to his TOANS*
" I want a silverburst LP Custom now"
I missed that, but why one would buy a guitar of a colour one hates?
Its for his son when he grows up
Maybe taste is a personal thing, but I am totally with you on this guitar. Of course it sounds amazing and I think the red / grey burst PRS guitars look sooooooo good, I would buy one immediately. And the golden hardware makes it even more amazing.
That song is awesome. I'm definitely wanting to get the Katana because of your review. I love my Ernie Ball VP. Amazing video Mr.Chapman
I really like the spacey atmospheric jams in the video. This makes me really want to get a volume pedal now.
Sounds like whales. Totally cool.
i think he's run octave fuzz into wah pedal
That PRS is stunning
That has got to be the most beautiful PRS I've ever seen, Rob!

Dave's playing kinda stole the show lmao, love you guys
Outstanding PRS 594! Nice VP too...oh! it's and expression pedal too...Wow nice!
Great job Rob! I think you're a wonderful artist 😊👌
Wow that bass sounds wicked
Awesome. Very cool playing Rob.
That jam at the beginning.. ooooh I wish it was longer..
Rob Chapman is an amazing guitarist. Some mad skills.
This is the only thing ive ever heard rob play that i actually thought was cool. The best!!! Not to mention an all around great guy!
I know just two notes he makes sound beautiful
Plus the prs sounds great regardless.

brayden cox get better soon bro
Sounds great!

See you gave in and bought that PRS. It’s Looks totally grow on you. It looks great and sounds awesome!
I've had a VP Jr. on every pedal board I've made since I was 15. One lasted 15 years and I just replaced it 3 months ago, so they can take a beating too. I literally don't know how to play a gig without one, lol.
I like the progressive rock you used for that petal. You sound like dream theater
Awesome pedal. And the jam's pretty sweet too. I love a good power trio!
What a great tool with outstanding dynamic's, very practical 😚
Very awesome pedal!! I hope we can hear it in dorje’s songs !!!
Really trippy Rob, cool!
Nice video. I would have liked to see a bit more of the jam session.
Sounds put of this world damn
I had the regular one & the string popped. Saw videos on replacing it, too much work. So I might check this one out since I do love that pedal.
This prs is totally awesome Rob :)
You guys sound amazing!
That intro is a much better version of the soundtrack from the movie Less Than Zero - Early Phone Call From Blair.
In my own personal opinion, Ben is the key to Toska's and Dorje's cool vibe. I just discovered this while I was watching this video
Those tom fills didn't get picked up by the mics at all.
Yeah the snare cut through but the toms were barely picked up.
Some licks were Jeff Beck ish. Great info. Thanks Rob.
I would love to see a rundown of Dave´s Board. There seem to be some changes since the Video from Thomann came out.
I really like the sweep on my regular VPjr, great for ambient swells. Something to keep in mind though, if yr using the tuner out you'll want a buffered pedal before the VP. The tuner out is just a passive split and will mess with yr impedance killing some top end.
nice stuff in that intro - bit of a different angle from you. and that finish and top on the prs is killer.
OMG that music is transcending!!
Great vid Rob, the volume pot is the humble holy grail of tone...hey could you please teach us how to do that shred lick at 7:45
It actually makes the guitar sound like a completely different instrument , very Satriani esc as you said Rob
Y'all gotta do a live event in this set-up.
rippin it up in this one, band sounds steller
put it in the effects loop and you can lower the volume of a really loud amp and be able to really drive the pre amp section.
This would be awesome with the digitech freqout!
Sounds great!
Remind me a band called "Leech" from Switzerland
u look badass with that prs rob
2:38 reminds me of bleed the light :)
great vibes chap
how very David Gilmour of you mate!
cheers!!!
ron:)
love you too man!
OMG that bass tone ! Does anyone know what kind of effects pedals he is using to have this kind of sound ?
Thought they were gonna break into “Damage Inc.”😆 Still a great sounding jam session!🤘🏻👹🤘🏻
Never had volume pedal. But know I want one. Be great for pink Floyd space effects lol. I have to hunt one Down.
How is that bass sound made? That is fantastic along with Rob's lines!
Man, you're really diggin on that Katana, huh
2:10 more practical yes but you get different shape by doing it on guitar
Every time I wanted a Volume Pedal, I just use my Volume knob more ;-)
On the strat thats perfect. For the Les Paul the Volume Pedal might be more useful....mmmhhh....ok, I`ll check the bay for a used one^^
Last time I was this early Dave still had dreads
Rob Chapman I am meeting Mark Tremonti on 28 November!!! Guitar clinic and rig tour before AB show!!!!!!
i need to know how dave got those weird ambient tones!
Amazing. Was the music in this video a jam or is it part of an actual song
Very cool. Makes me want to get a volume pedal.
Does this new rendition suffer from the “tone suck” the past VP’s dealt with when using the tuner out? Or did they fix that issue with this new one?
Count of Tuscany by Dream theatre, if anyone had any doubts :P
Hi. Can ir be connected into the effects loop? Is there a problem with impedance? What's the impedance in this pedal. Thanks
very cool!
Awesome sound !
How did Dave get his ?!
Tossing up between the 40th anniversary or the mvp. Any help would be welcomed.
Any chance to get more info about this pedal being used as a Expression pedal??
Rob! How do you like the RANGE of volume on this pedal? I recently bought the BOSS equivalent and was really disappointed with it. I want long swooping swells, but the boss seems very binary - just off and then on. Would appreciate your advice. Thanks man. Love your videos.
Hey Rob. What were the settings on the Katana?
Rob, volume pedal and sustainiac.
OH MY GOD! that guitar is stunning, what is it?
TheOGzTwister PRS 594.
Hey rob would u recommend the flashback triple delay pedal
around 4:30 sounds like Steven Rothery.
This might be a crazy question, but would there be a difference if you tweaked the volume before the tone pot (knob) as compared to tweaking the volume after the tone (I.e. outside the guitar via pedal)?
fuck me a few volume swells and the comment section jizzes its pants
Think I'm just going to stick to hitting things with bits of wood. Love your shoes though, Rob!
Where on earth can I get this? Can't find it anywhere!
Loving the sound on this - reminds me of more mellow bits of ISIS (the band, not the terrorist organisation). Nice work Chappers et al!

Al3x J4ck50n take a break and I bet u may want to go back to guitar. If not. Drums. Sorry I’m answering for Rob.
Thanks man :)
Hello, is this pedal good for amp fx loop?
Or 25K is better?
Can we hear this whole jam?
What is Dave using to sound like that on bass?
"WOT M8" 4:57
Nice
Ben - Glasses + mohawk = His final form.
Can't quite put my finger on it, but Toska are looking different today...
Playing Theo's guitar i see!
You guys need to review the 2018 Ltd viper from esp
for fucs sake...signal chain? Great sounds man!
Is it a passive volume pedal?
flyonsoul Yep :-)
