Wide Rainbow Residency : First Look

Wide Rainbow is a free, after school arts education program based in New York City. We connect women artists with our under resourced communities lacking access to the arts and arts education. It's always been a dream of ours to realize an artist residency - where an extraordinary woman artist could share her practice with young people in our communities.
This past year, that dream became a reality when Rachel Eulena Williams teamed up with The Young Women's Leadership School of Brooklyn to do a special 4-part 4-month program.
Williams met with our curious and creative group after school and explored everything ART! From the creative process, art history, to her personal practice, to hands-on art-making activities with a range of materials provided by Wide Rainbow.
Artists are teachers, mentors and progressive thinkers.
And they are needed now more than ever!
As students return to school full time, the world around them has changed. Art mentorship provides an outlet for healing, for creativity to flourish, for new beginnings to take shape. And demonstrates a real commitment to students at a time when it is most needed.
