    Back in 1992, I got a tour of a cockpit. Plane was still on the ground at the terminal though. Got a picture of me taken with the pilots of the 737. Was a kid and first time flying. Letting a kid there during flight, and even letting them fly the plane is nuts.

      I've been to the cockpit DURING a flight many times as a kid. Used to be super easy... Just ask stewardess, they ask the pilot when it would be suitable for them -> done... I remember being wowed by how one human could possibly know what EACH AND EVERY of those buttons and controls did! ^^

  • @wolfman3295
    @wolfman3295 4 месяца назад +28

    Yes is it was an act of extreme stupidity putting the kid in the pilots seat but lack of proper training about the autopilot and no alarms to notify the pilots were the things that doomed that flight. So it really doesn't matter how sophisticated a plane is, and no matter how many hours the captain and pilots have put in, if they aren't fully trained on the details of how things work on that particular plane, a terrible accident is bound to happen. Damn.

  • @stevemason5173

    This one is definitely a crying shame that shook me a good bit. That pilot was so thrilled and proud to let his children experience what he did for a living, And even the kids were thirlled to sit in a pilots seat of that monster of a plane, but it had to cost them all their lives. I can't imagine what his wife and mother of those children felt and went through. Such an extreme shame a proud father's joy with his children turned into such a tragedy... May they all rest in Heavenly Peace...

      I remember when I was a kid my mom would let me sit in the drivers side of her car, but the car was in park and at home and turned off and I didn’t have access to the key. If you want your kid to experience what it’s like to fly, have them be in a simulator.

      I just kept thinking, great job dad. It started out innocently enough. But even if they visited him they should've just said a quick hello and went back to their seats. It's like handing your children a loaded .... and telling him / her to point it. Now you took everyone else on the plane with you. Smh.

  • @ciji6706

    First time I have seen this tragedy, and I don't believe the pilot, who allowed his kids into the cockpit, should have been buried in the Heroes section of the cemetery. If not for his hubris in showing off his post to the kids the plane's autopilot would never have turned off. And, by the way, it is pathetic reading repetitious comments complaining about this alleged repetitious video content. How about just clicking on the thumbs up emoticon and move on. Smh

    • @simmy2118
      @simmy2118 4 месяца назад +3

      It was just a proud dad showing his kids his job. He never had any real intention in giving his son sole control of the plane. While technically he caused the crash, I can’t really blame him. Remember this was pre 9/11, and the A310 was viewed as a supercomputer modern marvel type of plane. When it comes down to it you wouldn’t really expect a 15 year old kid touching the controls for a second to cause a crash either

However, What did they expect when you allow non-experienced people, especially children, at the flight controls? I remember in the 80’s when I was a child, I was able to go up to the flight deck, but I didn't dare touch the controls. It was cool to be able to do this. It's too bad that airlines haven't allowed this opportunity since 9/11. R.I.P., Everyone on Aeroflot Flight 593
