Great info about jig fishing… but the reason why I liked and subscribed was your sentiments about your Dad, having a tough season, and relying on Jesus to get you through it. My Mom just passed away Jan 22nd… my Dad is also passed, as is my only sister… this will be my first season fishing solo… but you reminded me that I’ll never be truly alone because of my faith… thanks for sharing about your Dad and your faith. Never seen soo many misses on that Berkley spinner bait! I use it all the time because hook up ratio is so good!
Right? I think they were hitting the blades and not the skirt. I’ve seen that early in the spring where they’ll blow through the blades and never touch the hook.

Not a Kayak angler, but man I can appreciate the skill it takes to fish out of one. Target casting from a seated position with limited casting range while balancing a paddle on your lap while trying to keep the kayak in position. Lotta shit going on!

Awesome video. Man...I can't wait to get down there, I have an offer in on a house over by Chattanooga. We wanted Knoxville but houses in the areas we were interested in are just simply out of our price range for our criteria. I'm stoked though, the house is 10-15 minutes from Chickamauga. Alex and Chad great video nice fishing Alex can you fish a Alabama rig on medium heavy spinning rod with a 5000 size spinning reel my baitcaster reel broke so I had to send it in to get it replaced or repaired
You can but I wouldn’t recommend it. That’s a really heavy bait that could over load that rod and potentially break it.

I kayak fish here in ohio. Had a few close calls but have not flipped yet. Glad he is ok. I have never not used a trailer on a spinnerbait. Do you always fish them like that?
Used to run a trailer a lot. The new Berkley Power Blade has a really long shank that eliminates the “need” for a trailer hook. Chad and I got to talking afterward I think a lot of those bass were hitting the blades and not the skirt. I’ve seen that early in the spring. They’ll just blast through something vs eating it with intent 👊🏻
