Your vids remind me of the fact that its a process and not a race, and modding is something to be enjoyed and a form of expression. You’re helping to revive the old school community and i love that. This strikes home to me. I entered into the car scene a little over 2 years ago when I bought my Type R, and while that entry is a story in itself, my time since has been slow. Two years down the line and this past weekend I finally got the chance to take it out on track. I took off the rep wheels I daily on because I don't trust them on track, put the stock wheels back on, and sent it. As a result, I fully rediscovered why I fell in love with this car to begin with. It also allowed me to refocus on what my priorities for the car are. What needs improved first, and unlike many youtube builds, what can wait for later.

THANK YOU SO MUCH ALEX! So many people just do not understand how long it takes to correctly build a car. Every part of building a car takes a significant amount of effort, mindfulness, and emotional stress. That doesn't even account for the money required.

Started this video on my TV, but had to head to a pc to give a PoB.
The first 4 minutes of this video hits hard enough to be a dissertation. Even the wheels man.... Finding time to remove and clean wheels is a task for most people with a full time job. I think Gingium is about the only other Cartuber that actually shows how much work (and the reality of what) goes into Car builds.
Also. Solid editing for the "So you don't get the wrong picture"!

This why I like video content that shows the content creator doing stuff on their car without a huge garage or a huge team of mechanics It. Feels like we just a fellow car enthusiasts love doing stuff the way we want not heavily rely on Influencing but rather sharing thoughts, evaluate and sharing build tips instead of "this is my [insert six figure] custom build [insert expensive car]". Idk i do feel that being unique is good but sometimes make simple build [without ricing out obviously] feels wholesome.

Thank you for making this video! I think car enthusiasts on RUclips needed this video to be honest. There are too many channels out there that don’t portray just how difficult builds can be. Those channels discourage a lot of people from car modifications and Motorsport because of how easy they make it look. Why bother modifying your fiesta ST when someone on RUclips has a 2000hp Lamborghini they built in a week? Or a 1500 hp corvette C8? Most of those channels don’t take into account how much a difference it makes to have mechanics, a full service garage, and $100k worth of tools can make. They also don’t mention that their cars a probably not reliable and in most cases can’t be driven safely on the street. Or that you may get pulled over for noise and emissions violations for having that setup. Great video! Honestly, you have one of a handful of channels that are the real deal!

Great message to send to all of us constantly workin on our builds, I finally got the will to be able to swap out my steering rack with an upgraded one after buying the part a year ago. Seeing all the RUclips builds definitely influenced me negatively seeing how other people were able to do the same job with the same tools in like a few minutes, extended probably less than a day while it took me 3 to do the same job, doesn't help that I'm the "car guy" and no one else around me currently is. And then this video came out and helped me relax. Keep up the great work man! And it doesn't hurt to take a mental break every once in a while.

I rarely comment on videos but this is a very much needed and appreciated episode. With the fast pace of everything else in the car enthusiasts world and all these 24hr-48hr day builds, plenty that have budgets already set aside and not much down-time waiting on funds, it's tough to not feel like we're doing enough even though we're not all full time content creators. The reality is most of us are just taking it day by day and that's fine because that's life, it's not suppose to be edited with all the downtime, research, waiting on deliveries, trips to the auto store, and everything else clipped and edited out into a smooth-sailing exciting not-so-relatable montage 🏎 thanx for the chill vibez Mr.Martini

Thanks for the dose of reality. I am in the middle of a 2008 Mazdaspeed 3 build. Doing a 2.5 Duratec swap. Had the car a year now and waiting for my rebuilt & upgraded Garrett GTX3076R turbo to come back from the rebuilder. Working on my ebay Cosworth copy intake manifold conversion. Waiting for correct parts to be ordered & delivered. My gfs wonder why it isn't done yet, a year later. Because the reality is that stuff takes time. I do as much as I can by myself, but sometimes you gotta send stuff to a real shop. Takes time. Be patient. Make progress. Rinse & repeat.

I got 6 months into my RUclips journey before spontaneously moving across the country and restarting my life financially - that put an absolute halt to all of my projects. Nearly 4 years later Ive achieved financial stability that affords me the ability to resume...except its in a new place, new car scene, etc etc. It truly feels like starting completely over from ground zero.
Trying to combat these mental barriers to produce quality content I know I am capable of producing is by far the toughest thing, especially when it gets buried beneath the noise of so many of these instant RUclips builds.

Yesterday was a perfect example of this for me. I have a new (to me) car. Its known for having two piece lug nuts that corrode internally between the two pieces. I dont want future trouble, so I buy new lugnuts, in black chrome, to replace the chrome two piece ones.
Remember, this is somewhat preventative maintenance, as I dont want issues. But it was too late anyway. Lug nuts are already having issues.
Of course, this results in broken lugs, a cracked socket, and the realization that this car requires the lugs to be torqued to 150 ft-lbs but my normal wheel torque wrench only goes to 135.
What you would expect to be a quick wheel lug change, takes several hours. A trip to the store for a new digital torque wrench and new wheel sockets... and of course as soon as the wheel is off, I spend a tedious 15mins or so cleaning off each wheel as it has caked on brake dust.
So I not only end up spending all day doing it, but most of this is boring content of cleaning wheels, working off stubborn lugs, and going to a hardware store. But its a true full days worth of work for the average guy that spends his free non-working time with his car. Add to it that I have a family and a full life and you realize that even a small project can take 100% of the time you can free up.

This is why I've loved watching channels like yours as well as channels like Nightride lately. Nightride specifically struck a chord with me a couple years ago because a lot of the work they do isn't "fancy", it's grimy, dirty, and takes a long time. They've managed to romanticize a more natural style of car build again through their filming aesthetic this felt especially noticeable on their Sil80 build which it took place over the course of months... But even before that, going all the way back to the video that made their channel blow up in the first place featuring Bugi's crashed BMW e36 getting fixed. while the work being done was done quickly, it wasn't like they were using tons of fancy parts, they weren't making the car beautiful, just drivable, and so the video takes on a sort of documentary esc style as they tried to make sure they their friend would be able to take his car to this drift even that they were all planning on, so despite it being 3 days in 1 video, watching it you feel a sense of almost familiarity because a lot of us who love cars but don't have a lot of money have been in similar situations where something goes wrong and we're just trying to get our baby back up and running with the help of our buddies, so despite the pace being faster it still feels more "natural"...

I love that you don't gloss over the reality of a build. As much as I love Cleetus and AdamLZ etc... Most of us will never have a team of mechanics and detailers and fabricators to build for us. Keep it up man.

This video is real asf. This is coming from someone who builds on a mostly dead platform except for when it comes to the performance trim. I’ve seen a bunch of builds on RUclips, as I grew up, and I watched some channels grow to the point where their builds doesn’t give some of us a realistic goal, because they go as nuts as they can on builds. In my opinion, it creates this unrealistic expectation onto other enthusiasts who are trying to build their car. Not everyone can afford to go as balls to the wall as some of these big-baller RUclipsrs.

This video hits home. As much as i love talking about cars, driving, lear ing the history and gawking over the coolest ones. A lot of times i struggle to find the patience and energy to work on my own car. Sometimes i want a froend around or sometimes i meed the friend to give me a reason to get into the garage. Whether if its repair or installing a new mod. I see peopl i know with tricked out cars put together in a few weeks or months meanwhile its been 3 years and i havent had the coirage to put the engine together in my second car.

I had to realize that as well. My car is a mess. And seeing nice cars 24/7 takes a toll. It’s gonna take me years to make mine nice. But that’s how it works

I'm restoring a 93 K Blazer I've been doing most of the work myself and trying to find interior parts that work is so hard. Get on RUclips and the hoonigan guys are tearing one apart. I have a hard time watching it knowing I would have just fixed the engine and just put new wheels and tires on it and been extremely happy with it. But I don't also have a large income flow like these guys. Hopefully I get it painted soon been saving that up for a while now.

So my wife watches make-up vlogs, mommy vlogs, beauty vlogs, and they have all turned into lifestyle vloggers. Why? Because eventually their channels evolve into this: going from perfect tutorial videos on how life is perfect, to being more genuine about what they're "trying" and authentically showing when something works or doesn't or whatever because sometimes it's just nice to watch a video and say "Hey, man, me too."
This is the perfect opportunity for more lifestyle vlogs geared towards guys (pun intended). And do so without just recording all 8hrs and doing jump cuts. Like, this was tastefully informative and cheeky.
Gears & Gasoline used to do this, and are starting to get back to it. Smeedia does this. Devin Niemela does this (though his vids can be long).
But yeah, I'd love more content like this in the mix with the others.

might sound weird. But i find "high production value" car content similar to fast food, its filling and "good" but lacks substance.
I prefer looking at a person working on his car over a year span+ than a fast montage with a budget thats more than my whole life savings

I'm at a really tough point in my first project at the minute. I'm working around the clock to do it but its turning into more and more work, but its a project car. It's alright not to be insanely enthusiastic about every single moment. I found that just sitting and looking at the car and imagine what its gonna be helps, it's my best worst addiction😆
Really enjoying the content dude, no matter what the content is, you seem to be an interesting guy and I look forward to see your journey🤙

this hit different, its the reason why i just cant enjoy adam lz anymore, everything he does seems so over the top that i cant get into it, he lives the life i dreamed of as a kid and im happy for him, hes deff succesful and good at what he does but i could watch a small youtuber figure out how to do something simple like fixing things up on their car or installing coilovers and i rather watch than that watch adam build idk a ferrari or something, someone ive been enjoying watching for the longest is prizza mike, ive learned so much from his vids, no hate towards adam at all is just how i feel btw

Things will go wrong with projects, especially ones as complex as car builds. If you're winging it through unknown territory it can take even longer because you have to learn in order to do stuff right. But overcoming is half the reason I do build cars.

I was just talking about this yesterday and how the younger generation coming into the car scene now has such unrealistic expectations for their builds.. not realizing there is a $100k budget for these youtube builds and whole production crews behind it. Then they get so bummed when its not finished in a weekend. Its okay to take your time! Awesome content man, always keeping it real 👍🏻
